How hard could it be to build a thing that classifies music into genres and then creates playlists based on shared transitions (in/out; tempo; timbre; genre; vocal range; probable instrumentation), where the training corpus is mp3s with carefully groomed tags? If you crowdsource the corpus and don't skimp on paid human validation of the training set and store the trained data set (rules, neural net serialization, etc) authoritatively in the cloud and cached locally, where do you extract and insert money into the system to keep it going?

Subscription fees for the service as a whole, rather than piecemeal, with payments to artists arranged according to the use made of their work (possibly even fragments thereof), plus the ability to buy the music outside of the list context.
