Crag - sure thing; you can always include a roll that you deem appropriate; you may or may not get something out of it

Is Asenath healed by Father Grimburrow?

No, sorry; he can channel positive only

ah ok I see it. Yeah I was trying to post from my phone earlier.

Gotcha; I do that quite a bit too.

Now they we've been through a dialogue and some combat, let me know what you think of the pace. Pbp walks a fine line - too fast and we lose some players that have limited posting; too slow and we lose interest. I can adjust either way. You'll see some posts where I seem to advance quite a bit - that's just to try and not get bogged down in the story; so my apologies if I go too far and skip ahead of anyone.

I'm enjoying it, so I could go faster, but I dunno about anyone else.

I am happy to try and keep up. Being based in Australia, I think time zones will present the biggest issue for me.

Is it possible to get access to an inflict light wounds spell?

Father Grimburrow image up in the campaign info thread.

Gotcha; we'll see what the others think as well. Zaz is in NZ, I think, so around your time zone as well. I just want to make sure we don't go too fast for anyone, as it's very frustrating waking up to find that you missed a whole scenario

The Father can accomodate. Anyone who has been damaged, please consider yourselves healed. This initial battle was more for story than for survival; we'll get to the hard stuff soon enough;)

It's important to note that, while the Father seems accepting of your nature, he keeps an obvious distance when healing you - it's not as personal an endeavor as it is with a human. Pharasma and undeath don't agree, and a Dhampir toes the line;)

Guys, if you want to hear a bit more of Ustalav, Prince of Wolves is a decent book. It could have delved into the history of the region a bit deeper, but the flavor is there, and if you follow the misadventures of Jaggare and his bodyguard Rhadovan, then you'd like it.

And, no...I don't work for paizo...

I am in one sense fortunate in working odd hours - and having some long stretches at work where not much is happening - so I check in fairly regularly (about 5-6 times a day most days). I'm quite happy to up the pace a bit but I'm going away for a couple of weeks soon so my attendance will be a little more sporadic for that period. And yes, I'm in NZ so not too far away in time zone terms for Asenath.

definitely enjoying it so far!

I had no idea pathfinder had their own novels as well. That's cool. I got the pathfinder comic humble bundle and the comics are pretty entertaining. I might check that book out.

Zazaria can cast Inflict Light Wounds. I can certainly prepare it if you'd like me to, although that would be context dependent...I can replace prepared spells with Cure Light Wounds but not Inflict (I think), so I'd have to have it prepared, and that would use up a slot that might be useful for debuffing/buffing spells.

Sweet, thanks for the feedback guys. I'll move us along after we hear from Gerion.

If you'd like to plan out your spells, you can certainly do that after you're more acquainted. I don't see any reason you couldn't prepare an inflict spell or two.

Absolutely Crag, and they're actually pretty good. The novels with count Jaggare in it are a safe bet, and the ones with Salim are even better (Death's Heretic and its sequel.). I'd steer clear of the Worldwound gambit - that one was too meandering for me to even finish

I think it is a mutual feeling... Asenath would have been raised to know that the Pharasmans were probably never allies of her house. I had her react to the Father more out of instinct.

Asenath still has her scroll of inflict light wounds on her. Once Zazaria and Asenath settle into the group together she will open up about healing and what she carries with her. It might be a bit too early yet. :)

lol fail roll at the funeral. Are these dice loaded or what?

Lol; think you tripped and fell in the open grave

Always trying to steal the show, Crag! :D

hahaha

Apologies if Asenath is acting "too odd", just trying to find a balance.

Odd is how a character becomes unique isn't it?

Hopefully unique and not too annoying. :)

I think I rolled diplomacy wrong. I didn't include my -1 cha score. Don't you add your modifiers to the skill even if you don't have a rank in it?

Yes, that is how I understand it. Some skills you cannot roll if you do not have ranks in them (e.g. Handle Animal, Knowledge, Sleight of Hand and so on). Diplomacy you can roll without ranks, but you use the relevant modifier (e.g. Charisma for Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and so on).

Asenath does not have any ranks in Diplomacy, so I use her Charisma modifier of +2.

Yes, that's correct

Yeah I forgot about the mods+skills thing because my character sheet on here only has skills I have ranks in. Only realized because I have a physical sheet I was looking at for some reason, but now I know.

Those Ravengro peeps are a tough crowd. We might need to break out the magic tricks!

I know seriously.
Is gerion still around?

Haven't heard from him since Thursday; hope everything's alright!

Not very welcoming, are they? Possibly should have used my Go with the Flow powers, but not sure exactly how it works or what it does ;-)

Go with the Flow in Ravengro! :)

That's a lot of money!

:) Alas...not immediately accessible.

Important note - This imperious Councilman was also present at the Professor's funeral

I wonder what is in those books?

Lol; definitely the reluctant hero, eh Gerion?

I been reading this pathfinder tales book called Liars Blade. lol it's pretty good half way through. I got it on amazon digitally for 11$ with the audio book that will play by itself or while you read if you want it to in the kindle app.
A rogue has a magical talking sword and they argue and go on a quest. It's cool to see the various classes represented in the characters. You can tell the sorcerer has a certain bloodline from the core rulebook and has some of the bloodline powers. I'll have to do the prince of wolves like that too if the narrator is any good. I'd like to get more into the setting a bit for our game.

Nice! I haven't tried that one yet. Currently into Lord of Runes, but I wouldn't recommend it until you read the earlier novels of Jaggare and Rhadovan. They're quite good books though, overall.

In case things lag a bit later this week, don't worry -I'm moving, and may see a bit of downtime. It shouldn't affect much, but it if it does, it'll just bra day or two

Sorry I've been a bit off guys, I just had a weekend playing Rolemaster in a cottage by the sea with old friends, but I also am wrestling with a bout of sinusitis that refuses to die, so am sometimes not quite in the right headspace.

So I was reading that people usually heal in this game with heal wands. Is that something we can buy before the game or are they really expensive or something?

No worries at all MrA! I get that - hard to post when you feel like crap.

There are a bunch of ways to heal, Crag - spells, channeling energy, potions, Wanda, etc. you could look for a wand, yes, but Ravengro is a very simple town, so it may not be available. Kendra, though well traveled, has lived here for much of her life; I't may be a good idea to start asking some questions;). She should know where everything is.

Just to confirm how the spoilers work - if there's a roll requirement and a DC, please do not read it unless you meet that DC - honor system:). If there's no DC or roll, everyone can read

Went silent in here...

Yeah spring break ended and I ended up being really busy.
So is there a dc next to the spoiler?

nvm I just saw the dc next to one of those books

Dang, over already? My kids start theirs on Thursday. Right, and that DC is enough for all the books. We'll be here all week if we go book by book. Remember that knowledge skills are trained - meaning you need ranks in them to use them, unless a trait or feat takes precedence.

I read them when they were posted, but luckily I've forgotten everything lol

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Yes, well, Zazaria drew a blank. But even the cursory inspection got her worried: Pharasma has no love for Urgathoa, I think?
