Character looks great, Leeoli
Figured we'd get started on some issues; Leeoli, please add your relationship with the Professor, even if retroactively.

Yep. I need to add that, and some equipment. Try to do that soon!

Hi, I'm Vrilli. Just joining now. I will post my profile soon. I'm new to Pathfinder, looking forward to playing. Working Dad from New Zealand. Looking for some escapism! :-)
Hi Vrilli! Welcome to the group! I'll be sending you a bunch of info to get you up to speed. I'm a working dad as well, from North Carolina in the States. New to PF is just fine; we have an easy going group; no rules-lawyers here
Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)
Welcome Vrilli! I'm also a working dad of three living in sunny California. Glad to have you.
GM Nayr: Since I am just joining, I chose to not read through the adventure so far, to help maintain my character's ignorance.
Sounds good Leeoli; I'm sure you'll get filled in as we go along.
I'm still here by the way.
Sorry for not responding.
Sweet, thanks Lemillo. We'll be back up and running soon!
Male Elf Magus Kensai
Greetings all,
I have updated by stat block (thanks for the assistance Zazaria). I have also written a couple of paragraphs about Vrilli's background (including how he knew the professor) and the impression he gives.
GM Nayr: it might be worth me sending it to you to look over (to make sure it's plausible) before I put any of it in public.
Looking forward to getting stuck in. Apologies in advance for being a pathfinder/D&D ignoramus! :-)
Looking good Vrilli! Feel free to send me what you have; don't kill yourself over background - though I enjoy reading them, I'm always happier to get you up and running earlier. You can always go back and add pieces later

Just a heads up....for the far future.
July 15th thru 24th, I'll be on a getaway with my spouse in Budapest. I'll still try to post then, but umm you know.
btw, totally excited about this...I've never left the States, and haven't really left the kids at home on a trip ever either.
Nice, hope you have a great time! I'm with you, can't remember the last time the wife and I got away without the kids for more than a few hours.
Yeah Ive had kids for about 13 years and only two times did we leave the kids home with grandma, and that was only for one night, each time.
So this is unreal.
Budapest looks pretty cool...Europe - what I've seen of it - is amazing! Enjoy!
Sorry for my absence again guys, my workload has been crazy since my promotion. I am hoping for it all to become less demanding soon.
No worries, Sara! And congratulations on your promotion :-)
Male Elf Magus Kensai
Well done on the promotion Sara! :-)
I forgot to choose languages.
Quick suggestions for the campaign?
Leeoli's int=17 so a couple.
I believe Ustalav's population is Ulfen and Varisian for the most part, so Skald and Varisian might be useful. Any humanoid language (Dwarf, Elven, Giant, Goblin, etc. could come in handy, although not knowing the adventure path I can't say for sure. Given Leeoli's background, Necril (the Undead tongue) is also a good option.
Thanks MrAppollinax.
Those sound good. I'll go with:
Common
Skald
Varisian
Necril
Sounds good! I often forget to do that too
Thank you for the kind words. I hope I am back on-board now! * crosses fingers *
Quite entertaining discussion! For reference - the reported cause of death of the professor was severe trauma and broken neck from a fallen stone from a gargoyle statue atop the wall of Harrowstone prison. His reasons for being there are a cause of suspicion for the townsfolk, though his journal explains to you why he was really there.
Your dice have failed you!
Map posted to campaign info; note that the grid squares shown on the map are bigger than they look - 30 foot square.
Do we need permission to modify the map? Zazaria is dropping back to the square directly south of her, closer to the Lorrimor home.

Probably; feel free to apply and I'll grant it right quick
Lets rewind a bit; I had thought by the last few posts that you were headed back to the road and south, and not moving turn-based through the fields.
Moving like Zazaria did puts you in a far better situation, as the wagon is to the nortg along the road. The zombie has angled to follow you, so it will not be in between you and the farmer. Indeed, the farmer may just continue by if you stick to the fields.
I belive that Leeoli and Vrilli are all with Zazzari on the map. The other three are communing with the esther on the road, perhaps even unaware of the danger, who knows.
Map is updated with wagon shown and your having moved together. The lead zombie is around 80 feet away, so is in longbow range. Feel free to start taking shots; if we do, I'll roll initiative and we'll go turn based. The wagon is continuing south, seemingly oblivious to any danger, though at this point he may be in the clear, as the zombies have altered their trajectory to follow your group
Vrilli, to make this attack, here’s what you do, with the formatting:
(dice=Fire longbow)1d20+2(/dice)
(dice=Arrow damage)1d8(/dice)
Except, in above, replace the ( and ) with [ and ] to get it formatted. Feel free to embellish, of course
Your shot will start turn-based combat, so I’ll roll after for initiatives and post the order
Was choosing a character with a focus on piercing damage a mistake in a campaign with a lot of undead?
Well, there are various types of undead, and trust me you'll be seeing much different types when you get up in levels. I'd stick with it for now
Vrilli, to cast and use a weapon you'll need to use a full round action. That means that you won't be able to move in addition to this. I'd suggest abandoning your attack for this round in favor of a spell. Lemme have a look at your sheey and I'll advise
I'd do disrupt undead, without a doubt. You can do that and then move so that you're in melee for the next round if you like. Of course, that means that it can attack you too. Please let me know which one you targey, if you do

What are the Harrow Cards?
I didn't account for them for you and Vrilli, though they would've come in your original invite to the funeral. Give me a minute to look them up, as they could be useful.
Harrow cards:
Leeoli: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Vrilli: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Male Elf Magus Kensai
Hmmm. No idea what Harrow cards are. Will have to check my info.
Also, is it possible to consume a healing potion and cast a spell in the same round?
Check the Carrion Crown Player's Guide for Harrow Card info, guys.
Vrilli, I don't think you can cast and slurp in the same round, as both are standard actions (I think)
Nice hit Leeoli.
Correct - drinking a potion is a standard action, and would provoke an Aoo
Vrilli, I'd typically ask you to roll a concentration check to carry through your spell, bit it would miss anyway, so no need.
Asenath is up
But sad that on my crit damage roll was a 1...but Leeoli takes it.
