Teacher’s Pet: Professor Lorrimor traveled the Inner
Sea region lecturing and teaching at universities in
locations as far-f lung as Manaket and Magnimar, and as
different in scope as the bardic colleges of Taldor and the
battle colleges of the River Kingdoms. Speaking before
standing-room-only lecture halls on topics as widely
ranging as military strategy, planar anomalies, theology,
and agriculture, Lorrimor’s time was highly valued
among those ambitious to benefit from his expertise.
Despite this, he still managed to provide one-on-one
assistance to the most promising of his acolytes. When he saw the potential for greatness in one of his charges,
he took it upon himself to nurture their spark. You were
such a student. Over the course of several months, you
and the late professor spent hours debating the finer
points of your topic of interest, and the
intellectual doors he opened
for you continue to flavor
your outlook on the world.
You gain a +2 trait bonus
to one Knowledge skill of
your choosing and consider
it a class skill.

Crag was a child when his family was killed by marauding demons. He was raised by various families in the region. At age 20 he was struck with wanderlust wanting for that precious feeling of belonging. Without anyone to worry for him, he set off in search of himself.
Eventually he ended up in the land of Tian Xia. One day while browsing the local market, a group of thugs surrounded him because of his obvious difference from their people. A few slurs and a mentioning of his mother was all it took. Crag finally snapped. He grabbed the nearest thug by the throat and squeezed until the mans trachea collapsed. He fell to the ground gasping for air like a fish out of water. Another thug punched towards Crag. It was evaded and followed by a backwards trip. Within an instant, the cobblestone was splattered with blood. The unique sound of bone crushing filled the air. Either to try intimidating the rest of the ruffians or to simply quench the thirst for blood he was overwhelmed with, Crag tussled with a third. Within moments the man was face down against the ground. One foot against the mans back, Crag grabbed the mans arms and leaned back with all of his strength. Sickening pops and cracks could be heard throughout the market. The sudden lack of resistance informed Crag that his foe was no more. Screaming was everywhere. Market stalls were toppled in a desperate effort to escape the violence.
An onlooker approached Crag. He introduced himself as Professor Lorrimor and explained that Crag had great potential, but that his lack of control over his emotions would be his doom. Professor Lorrimor took Crag to a monestary nearby. There, Crag met with many people who had learned to master their emotions and actions. Over time, Crag felt at home. He felt he finally had a family. Even though he wasn't a total master of himself, he strived to better himself with the teachings of the masters at the monestary.
Being an old friend to the head monk at the monestary, Professor Lorrimor would stop by once in a long while. He would discuss philosophy with the masters and lectured on various topics for those that wished to learn. Through the years since their first meeting, Professor Lorrimor appreciated Crag's interest in the world and his new lifestyle. Crag grew fond of his visits with Professor Lorrimor and was disappointed when he stopped coming by the monestary.
