Alright so we need to deliver those tomes to the people. We need to wait a month with the daughter? Is there anything else?

Absolutely, Pharasma and Urgathoa are definitely enemies. One represents death and judgement, the other - undeath.

Right, but keep in mind you haven't yet read the book marked "read me now"

Asenath is very keen to read the books.

Asenath - are you reading the unmarked one that says Read me now?

Yes, that is the one!

Please roll to see what you know about the Whispering Way. Please only read what you roll! You gain XP for each successful level you achieve. Let me know if there are any other topics you'd like to roll for

Turns out I dont know arcana or religion.

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

yup, so many skills, so few ranks...

And darn knowledge is a learned skill...really doesn't help

In pathfinder you need points in the skill in general to use or just for certain things like knowledge?

Just for certain ones - called learned skills. Not for ones like perception, climbing, etc

If anyone (particularly Asenath with that killer roll) wants to share their knowledge of the research topics, please let us know. It would be easier if you're pooling your knowledge, but some of you may want to remain secretive.

Do I need a second roll for Knowledge (history)?

lol I was close to knowing more. So how much xp had we accrued before this? I think we got some after the first fight, but I don't see it written down anywhere in my notes.

Local or history please Asenath.

Yup - it's under party XP in the campaign info tab - 600 currently, but I haven't added any yet for all of these knowledge checks

Please just let me know if you're headed to the temple or to the Restlands

Hey, just a head's up: my home internet is down, possibly for a couple of days (I'm at work at the moment), but I'll check in where possible.

City of the fallen sky is another good pathfinder book. That and liars blade are both by tim pratt. city of the fallen sky is about an alchemist that has a pretty interesting adventure. Makes me want to play an alchemist until I look at the class and see all the rules lol

Hehe...but they throw bombs! How cool is that?!

Oh no it's awesome. I just start looking over the class and my eyes kinda glaze over and I get a little sleepy.

Bluff check please; and anyone else can aid; unless that is really what you want to do, then it's diplomacy

Guys, please let me know if you don't want to share the info you got earlier; if you don't mind, I'll post it on the campaign thread as common knowledge - specifically, what you learned about the Whispering Way and Harrowstone prison.

Sorry guys; rules is rules:(. Want to try a different tact, or try something else in town?

I declare this a black OPS.

Puts sunglasses on.

Ha! That may be the only way at this point

Seconded, Sara...when honeyed words fail, stealth and subterfuge prevail...

I have a question for you guys that have read any of the pathfinder tales books. Are they proofread? Like have you run into any with mistakes? I noticed maybe 1 or 2 in the previous 2 books but man....this new one is ridiculous. I'm reading a newer one called Bloodbound. It is full of grammatical errors and I'm not even a stickler for that. Stuff like "stilled prayed". It's a bunch of those kinds of things that are all over the book. Kinda feels like it was written on microsoft word and they just let word decide things, skipping an actual editor.
It's frustrating because the story is actually really good, but you run into these errors and it stops your progress for a moment when you stop to figure out what's going on with the sentence.

I have not read them, but it would break immersion.

Yikes; that's no good. I've seen a few, but not many; I stick to David Gross books, mainly

Maybe you should post a review...that's really not on.

lol yeah I did. I've run into a new type of error in the book. It's written in first person and now sometimes the quotations aren't at the starting of dialogue, so you don't realize every time that it's said out loud. If the story wasn't good I would have trashed the hell out of the book and got a refund.

Well that's one way to do it! Lol; I think Gerion's last name may not be "subterfuge."

Nice shot Gerion; I'm going to figure that you had your Xbow loaded and ready before moving in the room. You'll have to move up a bit to get a shot at the critters, but you also would have had to spend a move action to load the Xbow. So, you moved, then shot. But next round you need to spend a move action to reload.

Sorry for the wait guys

no worries, life happens.

Sorry I totally forgot to tell you guys i was gonna be gone. Went on a family trip in memory of my brother that died last year since that's what he loved. Had a great time and all just forgot about this game. My bad

Man, no problem at all! Real life comes first and that's a great cause. Glad to have you back!

Seconded. Glad you had a great time, and as for forgetting about the game, so you should!

Hi, I am going to be absent due to work. I hope to back to the campaign by the weekend, or early next week. Sorry, just very busy with work.

No problem at all Sara; that comes first. See you when you get back!

Hi all. GM Nayr invited me to join this AP. Im still designing my char. Any advice on a class?

Not sure whether an undead scourge paladin would get a long with the bonded witch????

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Yo Hammer! as you can see we're short on fighting power...I think the Paladin would work fine with Asenath - she's otherworldly rather than witchy, but there are plenty of other options, I guess.
Corpse Hunter Ranger might be a better fit if you're worried about intra-party dynamics.

Corpse Hunter...Hadnt heard of it...So many archetypes..it looks interesting though....

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

I do like the range of options, although it does make searching out the exact one to suit your needs a bit tiresome. If you're looking for anti-Undead options (and it does look a bit like that kind of campaign at this stage), you might want to consider the Grave Warden Slayer or the Spirit Master Monk.
But really, I think you should go with what you're keen on doing. If that means Undead Scourge Paladin, well and good. If you think you'll engage better with something else, go for it!

Although I hereby reserve a Fetchling Kensai Magus, in the event of an untimely end for Zazaria!

Part of me says a frontline tank...it seems needed. Another part of me says, the cleric can take care of the undead and I guess there is a monk that can be meat up front :)
..so...who has skills?

What about an alchemist?

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Asenath and I can deal with most of the spellcasting requirements, I guess. Zazaria has a particular dislike of Undeath. An Alchemist would be outstanding, something a bit different...with BOMBS 8-)
You can always aim for the Ectoplasmic Bomb discovery if you want to damage Undead at a later stage (level 2?)

Frontline tanks are necessary, but rarely as fun as other characters. Maybe an alchemist with mutagen and an archetype to beef up when needed? I mean, who wouldn't like to throw bombs?

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Agreed. Although if we need someone else and my friend is willing, I daresay he'll make things a bit easier on himself by taking a Fighter or Fighty-type class. If he does join, I might try and sell him the idea of a Slayer or Brawler.

Good point!

In light of Asenath's being busy and the 2 new additions, I'd say we hold off on posting until everyone's up and running. Crag and Gerion - please chime in if still around; if not, your characters will have an exit post when we're back up.
