Janira the Bard |
the unconcious Janira lies still on the battlefield...
stabalize: 1d20 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 10 = 10
and stops bleeding.
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
"Oh, this isn't good," mumbles Ver'Yanion, as the beast gets closer to him. He glances over to Janira, and realizes that he doesn't have time to heal her, if he is to live.
He beckons to Diego to take up a flank across from him as he steps closer to the minotaur, and readies to attack the beast when he does.
Readied, flank, inspire: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 14 longsword, inspire: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 + (6) = 10
Krixit |
"Hang in there," Krixit says to Diego as she walks up next to him. She then strikes at the minotaur!
Guisarme w/Inspire: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Mirima Mantheniel |
"Now we are engaged in a great battle, testing whether that Minotaur, or any Minotaur so conceived and so ugly, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war!"
Mirima continues as she moves forward and fires again.
UMB: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Magic Missle Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Carolla |
Carolla continues to swing at the beast. Pausing only to call out to Beechbar.
"Thanks Beechbar, being the same size as this beast is great"
Scythe, bard song: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
Carolla shakes his head and chastises himself "Talk between swings, not during you fool. This thing could kill all of us."
Diego Ruiz |
"Ay Dios mio, that hurt! This is no cow, but a pile of bull!"
Wincing form the pain, Diego hops forward into flank with Ver'Yanion, and swings, aiming for a tender spot.
Bastard sword with flank and inspire: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 1 + 2 = 17
Bastard sword damage with flank and inspire: 1d10 + 3 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 + (2) = 15
Beechbar Grumbletongue |
"You are proper dwarf size now!"
Somehow Beechbar finds the breath to spit out the above as his ample (he's big boned!) frame rumbles towards the log. Wide and flat dwarf feet propel him towards Carolla.
GM.Kashka |
Krixit moves up and strikes a blow to the minotaur...
Ver moves up and readies a blow...
Mirima hits the beast with another magic missile.
At which point Carolla swings and misses... distracting the beast while Diego steps forward and meets swords with Ver deep within the Minotaur's chest... it slumps over dead before it hits the ground.

Ver'Yanion pulls out his wand of cure light wounds, and tries to activate it on Janira. But, the magic remains just out of reach for him.
UMD DC20: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

mirima doesnt need umd with clw wand
"what... what happened? Oh the Minotaur! you saved me and slayed the beast! well done friends! My report will certainly tell of your courage and heroism."
she pauses a moment...
"but what did you find in the cave?"
Krixit |
Krixit moves to steady the wounded Diego until someone patches him up.
"In the cave? I wrote a whole buncha stuff down! There were a lot of nasty critters, like zombies, and stuff."
Diego Ruiz |
"Perhaps discussions of what we found would be better suited to the de-brief room at the Grand Lodge, or perhaps even at the Pig's Paunch. We could even talk on the way back to Absalom, but for sure after we've healed our wounds."
"Yours included," as Diego offers a hand to help the bloodied and battered halfling to her feet.
Beechbar Grumbletongue |
"The human has the right of it. After a pint or three and some roast hog, then we can give you a proper review of this cave system. That gilman could have made a fine dwarf; he gave the elf the stink eye the whole time we were there."
Janira the Bard |
Janira frowns at the of explanation.. "okay i suppose" She takes her backpack and uses consumables to heal everyone into traveling condition.
She leads the party back to Absalom through an uneventful trip. They arrive safely at the Grand Lodge and meet with Kreighton Shaine's office.
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
Ver'Yanion hands over his notes to the elven Master of Scrolls. "Here you go, Master Shane. I am sure you'll find all that you need here."
Need more gear to adventure. Perhaps talk others into getting that gear so I don’t have to? Stuff is heavy, and I want to remain agile.
The mosquitoes here are pretty bad… and very large, evidently. But, they burn nicely. Perhaps waiting to see if swarms like this get closer is a good idea when you are throwing vials of fire, but they are pretty scary!
Have to be careful about my teammates. Evidently they are a bunch of guards, and I never get along well with guards. They always think that I have taken things that don’t belong to me… but how do I know that things left out in the open aren’t for the taking?
Finally found cave entrance. Hideous minotaur shows up. Janira saves us, and gives me her stuff.
Inside the cave, we find a simple pit. At the bottom is a lovely cloak, so I hop down to grab it. Who would have though that the cloak was covering spikes? Those hurt!
Across the way from the pit, someone left a perfectly serviceable board… good enough for the non-elves to make it across the pit. Who would leave such a thing here?
Found some dioramas on the wall… ancient Absalom, evidently. Found an uncooperative Gillman who doesn’t seem to like me, and I don’t know why.
The model Absalom was neat, had all sort of trinkets on it, but the “guards” wouldn’t let me check it out enough to know what was going on.
Some damphir thought he could raise an army of the dead. They turned against him. Kind of ate him, which is ok, since creating undead is pretty bad. Especially when those zombies can pound a poor elf nearly to death. My arm and leg will never be the same. Cleverly found a secret door. Really, my leg feels ok, but I can’t let them know that. They’ll want me to continue working hard!
After I most cleverly found a secret door, we went through it to hear Janira still lived. I killed an ooze of some sort, and we made it out. Wasn’t a big deal. It was easy to hit.
Then finally, we made it through to see Janira get smacked in the chest with the big cow-faced monster’s ax. I ran through at breakneck speed, putting my life on the line, to try and save Janira. Unfortunately, the beast was in the just the wrong place, so I decided to attack and slay him, rather than save Janira. I had to gamble that she had time, which she did.
Mirima Mantheniel |
Mirima splays open her rubbings of the stone surfaces. "Oh, it was so weird down there! These relief murals are fading out but I got some rubbings of them. We should probably send some more people to do a more thorough job of cataloging them.. the whole Minotaur attack really distracted us from the caves at the end." She then lays her other notes onto the table.
Mirima Mantheniel |
"Well, Uori told us it's a sacred site to the Gilman. Used to be sacred to Aroden, but over the past century the carvings in the one of the rooms have weathered and melted so soon Aroden’s influence will have faded completely."
Krixit |
Krixit nods in agreement. "Yeah, that gillman was definitely meditating by the pool in there."
Ver'Yanion Talthenar |
"Yeah, he and Beechbar were definitely meditating. Though Beechbar was more making bubbles at the time... and his mouth was above water." Ver'Yanion giggles. "He told us that was dwarven meditation. I wasn't so sure, but thought it improper to question him."
GM.Kashka |
The Master of Scrolls congratulates you on a mission well done and on the party's excellent note taking.
