You do not see anything in the webbing besides the small corpses.
Here is a MAP of what you've discovered so far. There is more to the room on the left, but there did not appear to be anything in there. A brief note on my labels for the new ones to the group: players are green, L=Luthor, R=Roka, K=Kurth, and F=Fendahl. I have omitted Tori for the time being since I have not heard from her player. All the squares that have a gray line in them are covered in webs (you may only move at half speed through them).
EDIT:Updated map, Google Drive is being wonky so you might have to wait a bit.

Thanks for the map. That is a shame about Tori - especially since she was one of the original survivors. Maybe she will still show.
Also, not sure if you may want to add a "C" for Fendahl's cat lion companion.
Since L is already taken.

The map was working for me yesterday, but today I just get google errors. I could not remember if the web room has any other exits (or if we can even see that far). If we do enter, Fendahl would proceed with Kirrah behind Kurth, if he is leading.

Sorry I'm in the process of moving house...
Róka moves into the web covered hallway just behind Kurth scanning the floor and walls ahead for spiders and traps.

Fendahl and cat follow behind Kurth and Roka watching for any spiders, critters or pits etc...

And Kirrah has scent if there is anything invisible lurking nearby...

As you proceed into the room, you see a stairway to your left. As Kurth nears the stairs a large spider leaps out of the webs and attacks.

The spider bites Kurth, causing some damage but the poison takes no effect.

Fendahl and Kirrah will see if any other spiders jump out since this one appears to be surrounded. If it is still moving after Luthor (delay if no other targets) but will attack spider if room allows.
"Hrrrmm, that is a large specimen for living in a cave. Usually find these in forests. Kurth, you feeling ok?"
scimitar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Fendahl will sweep (with his scimitar) through the webs along the walls as he follows behind Kurth - just to make sure nothing is hiding behind them.

"Hrrrmm, no more spiders at least. If there are no other exits, then we could go back and try one of the other paths. "

Róka puts his finger to his lips and motions for the others to listen. " Anyone else hear that howling? Not sure what to make of it... " he says in a low voice. He then runs his hands over the door and frame looking for traps. Once satisfied he gives a nod to the others.

Fendahl listens for the noise that Roka described...

Sorry Kurth, I don't know much about things like that. They all look the same to me. Luthor casts detect magic on the pearl. Hmm... this looks interesting. If no one wants it, perhaps I can make some sense out of it
Perception check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Yes, Roka I can hear the noise Luthor draws his rapier ready for whatever is behind the door.

Fendahl hands the pearl to Luthor and draws his scimitar in preparation on facing the source of the howls.

Róka skirts around the room and approaches the well opposite Kurth gripping the hilt if his Falchion tightly as to reassure himself.

Fendahl:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
You all hear the distinct sound of someone screaming mixed in with the howl of the well.
Surprise Round: Roka, Fendahl, ?, Luthor, Kurth
I decided to take a page from a GM I'm playing with and am listing initiative. Names in bold may post actions now.

Fendahl and Kirrah move into the room with scimitar drawn and with backs to the east wall watching and ready to attack anything that emerges from the well.
"Hrrmm, sounds like a ghost or banshee coming after us...or...or maybe our imaginations playing with the wind.". He says the last part with a hopeful, nervous grin.

![]() |

At the sound of the scream Róka whips his falchion out of its sheath and spins wildly about his eyes bulging wide as he looks for the source. He ends up facing the well again holding his sword in a defensive position across his body.
"Oh gods, not a ghost!"
Full Defence

GM Henry Fortuna |

You peer into the well and see the long dead remains of a person at the bottom. As soon as you look in, you feel like something is trying to invade your mind. You shake off the effects, but you know it's the well that is trying to do it.
Surprise Round: Roka, Fendahl, ?, Luthor, Kurth

![]() |

"Hrrmm, not good. Kurth, are you sure. Is it still affecting you? ". Fendahl watches the barbarian to make sure nothing is trying to take over his mind.

Fendahl and Kirrah will ready to grapple Kurth if he starts attacking party or does anything strange or ghostish.
