Signore di Fortuna
Fresh-faced recruits gain the opportunity to prove their worth to the Pathfinder Society.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
Enraged that the snake escaped the burning basket, Kurth draws his sword and attacks.
entering rage
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5) + 10 = 19
But his sword only hits the table.
Taking a 5 foot step away
The viper proves to be a wily foe.
1d3 ⇒ 1
1=Luthor
2=Illias
3=Kurth
It decides to focus its attentions on Luthor.
Viper's Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
However, its attack is futile.
Round 2. Go on, Luthor.
Male Human Cleric
Luthor strikes with his rapier again.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damge: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Luthor's attack is a little closer to the mark, but the viper still slithers away from the blade.
This is an interesting stalemate...Illias, your turn.
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias draws his quarter staff and attempts to strike the elusive enemy.
1d20 ⇒ 2
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
The viper continues to evade you.
1d3 ⇒ 1
It continues to focus on Luthor.
Viper's Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
However, the viper fails to find a soft spot on Luthor.
Your turn, Kurth.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
still raging
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 6) + 10 = 20
Kurth furiously demolishes the furniture and the floor.
M Halfling Rogue (Scout) 1
Hearing a commotion, Vim ducks in from his post outside the door and surveys the scene.
Kurth puts deep grooves into the floor and walls, but the viper still slithers unscathed.
Round 3 now. Luthor, can you defeat the wily viper? ;)
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
still raging, and flanking
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 = 16
Why can't this snake hold stil for a moment?!
At this point I'm pretty sure its an illusion. If it was a real snake we would have hit it by now.
Male Human Cleric
Sensing that the Cayden himself must need to bless this party, Luthor steps out of combat and ushers a blessing upon the party.
"Cyaden Cailaen, hear our suffering and bless us with your warrior's energy!"
5' step and Cast Bless. +1 To all Attack Rolls and Saving Throws Against Fear effects, 1 min.
Of course what we really need is for someone to actually roll above a 10! lol
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias again attempts to strike the serpent with his staff.
Attack1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Illias finally strikes true, but does not kill the snake. It lashes out again.
1d3 ⇒ 3
It sets its eyes on the raging barbarian.
Viper's Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
In its battered state, the viper's attack is useless. Kurth's attack also goes a little wide, despite flanking and Luthor's blessing.
Round 4, back to Luthor.
Male Human Cleric
Having seen Cyaden's approval with Illias' attack, Luthor strides back into combat, striking with his blade.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Luthor finally dispatches the viper. In the ashes of the basket lies a blue stone key with runes etched on it. You see that the runes match that of the lock on the red lacquered chest.
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
"Well, time to see what this chest holds." Illias picks up the key and unlocks the chest, opening it to view it's contents
Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
The chest opens to reveal a exquisite jeweled scepter with a key forged into the end of it.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
When the rage leaves him, Kurth drops his sword and collapses against a wall.
He breathes heavily as he watches Illias to open the red chest.
"Another key. These people seem quite obsessed with keys."
Once he has regained his strength, Kurth gets up and shakes the metal box.
How heavy is it? Is there anything in it?
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Then he drips a few drops of the corrosive liquid on the metal box, testing if there is any reaction.
The metal box is far too heavy for you to lift nor can you seem to move it along the floor. The corrosive liquid does not even leave a small groove on the surface of the box.
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias points to the ceiling, "Lads, there's one more key that we need to obtain. Any idea how we can retrieve it?"
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
"Can you summon a small bird to fetch it? If not, you can climb on my shoulders. You don't look too heavy."
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
M Halfling Rogue (Scout) 1
"Hmmm... I don't think me climbing on your shoulders would do any good. Someone poke it with a stick, see if it drops."
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias begins casting and as if from nowhere, an Eagle appears. Once the Eagle lands at his side he asks the the majestic bird obtain the key for them.
The eagle that Illias summons flies up to the ceiling and snatches the golden key in its beak. It returns to Illias and drops the key onto the floor at his feet.
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias picks up the key and attempts to use it on the lock for the metal cube.
Will Saves:
Illias:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Vim:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Luthor:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Kurth:1d20 ⇒ 17
3d20 ⇒ (20, 16, 6) = 42
You open the chest. Immediately, Luthor's skin turns blue. Inside the chest you find the map you were sent to retrieve as well as a wand of knock.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
"Are you all right, Luthor? You look even more intoxicated than usual."
Kurth picks up his sword and sheathes it.
Kurth points to the map. "Is that what we came here for? Good, then lets get out of here."
He takes out his crowbar and tries to break open the door.
taking 20 on the STR check, so thats 27 = 20+5(STR)+2(Crowbar). And yes, he is aware of the wand of knock. But he's angry and wants to break stuff.
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias grabs the wand and places it in his pack. He casts a sideways glance at Luthors new hue and snickers under his breath. He sits back and watches Kurth work on the door.
As Kurth works on opening the door, Illias will notice that there is a keyhole that matches the key on the end of the scepter.
Male Human Cleric
How did Luthor's skin turn?
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias asks kuth to step away and uses the scepter to unlock the door.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
"I've had enough of those keys! They are nothing but tricks and pranks."
Kurth will continue to work on the door, but if he can't break it open he will give in eventually.
"Fine! Have it your way. But don't blame me if using this key turns your skin green, or makes you disappear like that elf girl."
Male Human Cleric
While the other two battle the door, Luthor scrubs at his skin vainly. Then finds some old wrappings in his backpack to cover up as much of the blue as possible.
The door opens as Illias turns the key. The servant stops leaning against the wall and collects the scepter from Illias. He takes a short glance at Luthor before leading the group outside. He nods as the group exits the large iron wrought gate.
Where to now?
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
"Now that that....task.... is done, we should move on to the temple. Based on the letter that we were given this should be a fun one.."

You travel from the Wise Quarter to the Temple of the Shining Star in the Ascendant Court. When you arrive at the temple, you are escorted to a young female paladin.
"Greetings, I am Ollysta Zadrian. Thank the light of Sarenrae you have arrived! I knew Ambrus would come through for us in the Silver Crusade. I desperately need you to bring medicine to an orphanage and let me know if the headmistress, Gilga Baltwin, is deserving of our charity. Since our quest began, the needy have clamored for our aid, and I suspect some are abusing our generosity. It may sound cruel, but there are plenty of dishonest people out in the world eager for easy gold.
"Do you know of the Silver Crusade? After discovering so many factions splintered the Society, a number of us banded together to proliferate the cause of charity and kindness using the Society’s resources. As it is said, 'The Dawn brings new light' and I’ve made it my life’s work to use our recent darkness to bring a new light to the world and to the Pathfinder Society. I apologize for straying off point. Will you bring this parcel of medicine to Auntie Baltwin’s Home for Recovery in the Eastgate district?"
Male Human Cleric
"Excuse my color milady. I seem to be the end of a bad joke. We would be honored to visit the orphanage. How would you like for us to determine if Headmistress Baltwin is deserving?"
"I need you to uncover evidence regarding her character and this orphanage she runs. I would ask around the Eastgate district before confronting her directly," Ollysta advises.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
"Ahem, " Kurth tries to break the awkward silence that ensued. "Eastgate is this direction, right?"
He points to where he believes the Eastgate district to be.
"Are there any more questions? If not we better start. The children are waiting for their medicine."
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
Illias nod and starts off in the direction of the Eastgate district.
Male Human Cleric
"Yes, yes, very well. To Eastgate we go.
Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)
As they enter the district Illias looks around for anyone looking not too busy to ask about the Headmistress
Perception1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
While they walk through the crowded city, Kurth looks at Titan in amazement.
"Illias, isn't your bear intimidated by all these people?"
... I certainly am. In times of civilizations of old, people wouldn't have lived so tightly packed."
Once they reached the eastgate district, Kurth takes a look around.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Seeing nothing of interest, he approaches the first local person that doesn't look too busy:
Diplomacy (Gather information): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
"You, noble savage, do you know a person called Gilga Baltwin?"
Male Human Cleric
"Please excuse the large brute folks. We are looking for Madam Baltwin. Does anyone know of her where-abouts?"
Diplomacy/Gather Information: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Please read my post in the discussion before putting anything further in here. Don't worry, it's not bad.
M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4
Sense motive (on Luthor): 1d20 ⇒ 2
Kurth doesn't get what "large brute folks" Luthor is talking about.
