Dr. Stefan Von Herzog |

Stefan creeps deeper into the building and peer around the bookshelf, hoping to get a better look at whatever undead thing is in this building.
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Note: Stefan still has mage armor up, which is a force effect. If we're going to fight another wraith, mage armor is effective against incorporeal touch attacks.

GM Harker |

Stefan and Bert move up to attempt to identify the source of the noise, with the former attempting to do so quietly. Rounding the second bookcase, they both spot a wraith who seems to be waiting. Meanwhile, Vivian moves into the building.
The wraith stops humming and turns its attention to Bert as he comes into view, "You've been marked, haven't you? I'll bring you to the master!"

Dr. Stefan Von Herzog |

Mentally cursing himself that he has no magic missiles in reserve, Stefan casts a spell and then points his arm at the wraith. A beam of white magical energy fires from his outstretched hand.
Disrupt undead

Positive energy damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

GM Harker |

After being mildly creeped out by the wraith's comment, Bert advises a strategic re-positioning.
Dr. Von Herzog casts a simple spell that creates a beam of pure positive energy and attempts to hit the undead creature with it. Unfortunately, he overcompensates his aim with the bookcase in the way and misses.
I'll give Sophie until tomorrow to post, otherwise I'll delay her and move on.

GM Harker |

Unsure of the situation inside, Sophie remains outside for the moment.
Laughing mirthlessly, the wraith approaches Bert and attempts to touch him with its spectral fingers. Ready for the creature's tactic, Bert dodges out of the way.

Bert Shieldworn |

"Doc back up, we need more room, please."
Assuming Dr Stefan moves back, Bert will take a 5 foot step back and then go total defense.
Total defense is standard action, I can 5 foot step, right? +6 to AC plus the +2 from Mammoth's hide from Sophie AC is 25

Dr. Stefan Von Herzog |

Stefan backs away and moves along the bookshelves to the other side of the wraith. He then casts the same spell again. Disrupt undead
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Positive energy damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
I've adjusted both Stefan's and Bert's tokens.

GM Harker |

Bert takes a step back away from the wraith while placing himself in a defensive stance, while Dr. Von Herzog walks around the bookcase to the east side of the room and casts Disrupt Undead again. This time the ray of positive energy easily hits the shadowy undead, burning off a small part of its form.
Amaria, Tara, Vivian, Sophie.

Tara Eliade |

Moving up to the door, Tara clutches her dagger close to her as she attempts to keep the way clear for the others stuck in the narrow house.

Sophie Kundegard |

Sophie moves forward and pulls out some of her holy water.

Amaria moves into the room and launches an arrow at the creature, trying to thread the needle between Bert and the bookshelf.
Arrow 1: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 4 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

GM Harker |

Vivian makes room for Amaria, who then proceeds to move inside and hit the wraith with a damaging arrow.
Hissing in pain and anger, the incorporeal undead moves swiftly away from Bert and instead flies towards Dr. Von Herzog. It then attempts to pierce the wizard's force armor with its soul killing touch. Fortunately, the doctor's Mage Armor slows the wraith's tendrils enough to allow him to dodge the attack.
Bert gets an attack of opportunity from the enemy moving away.

"Gaahh!" Stefan backs away from the wraith and conjures another ray of energy at it.

Bert Shieldworn |

Bert swings his hammer at the wraith as it moves away.

"Run for the door, Doc." Bert yells as he moves foward to cutoff the wraith before it can reach the good doctor again.
Can I ready an action for when it rounds the corner and comes into my view?
Readied action, just in case
Lucerne Hammer,B/P, REACH: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 damage, if hits: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

GM Harker |

Bert slams the wraith with his long hammer as it moves to engage Dr. Von Herzog.
Amaria shifts position to hit the abomination with another arrow.
Dr. Von Herzog takes a few steps back and blasts the creature with another ray of pure positive energy.
Bert then strategically shifts to attack the wraith if it goes after the wizard again.
Yes Bert, you can ready that action.
Tara, Vivian, Sophie.

Tara Eliade |

Watching Vivian vanish into the building, Tara lets out a sigh before following the red head into the fray. Winding up next to Amaria, Tara furrows her brows as she spots the wraith. "If you can, stay here and I will be able to enchant your weapon." She huffs out, as she attempts to catch her breath.
double move to reach Amaria

GM Harker |

Tara advances over to Amaria in order to enhance the paladin's weapon once she finds the opportunity.
Sophie remains outside by the door in case of trouble from that direction.
Appearing somewhat indecisive, the wraith turns to fly over to Amaria and attempts to harm her with its deadly touch. If Vivian does not destroy it with an opportunity attack, it penetrates the paladin's defenses. Although the negative energy is not harmful to Amaria, she still feels the creature's presence attempting to eat away at her. Amaria heals 4 negative energy, but still needs to make a DC 15 Fort save or take 1d2 ⇒ 2 Con drain. Since this is Con drain and not energy drain, I believe it affects Dhampir's normally.
Vivian receives an AoO before the wraith can attack. If she ends up destroying it, then obvious the above does not happen.

Bert Shieldworn |

Bert grunts "This is why I wanted to be outside. So I can keep the wraith in control."
Assuming the wraith is still al--uh..not dead again, Bert will do the following
Bert moves past the good doctor and follows the wraith down the pathway between the shelves, as he closes in he swings his hammer again.
Lucerne Hammer,B/P, REACH: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 damage, if hits: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Sneak attack, if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Vivian is, as always , quick to react.
However, in her eagerness to strike, she overextend herself, and the blow doesn't do as much damage as it could

GM Harker |

Vivian hits the wraith with her sword as it closes on Amaria, but she is unable to do enough damage to destroy it.
This means the attack in my last post goes off, so Amaria will still need to make a Fort save or take Con drain.
Bert then advances on the wraith and finally ends its tormented existence with a blow from his hammer.
Combat Over.
If you want to search the building, please make Perception checks.

Dr. Stefan Von Herzog |

"This town is truly haunted by these wraiths! Excellent work, everyone!" The doctor then begins looking through the collected books on the shelves.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

GM Harker |

Amaria successfully fights off the wraith's attempt to drain her health.
Although most useful and interesting religious texts have been removed from the building, Dr. Von Herzog does find some find 3 magical scrolls under some abandoned paper in a corner. Moreover, he finds a loose panel on the bottom shelf of the north bookcase revealing another scroll. Using Read Magic, Tara reveals that the scrolls are one casting each of Inflict Light Wounds, Invisibility Purge, and Call Lightning. The scroll in the hidden cache is Restoration with 100 gp of diamond dust already added into the item.
I'll give you sometime to react and we'll move on either Sunday or Monday using the same movement procedures as before.

Tara Eliade |

Clutching her holy symbol Tara moves her way through the group, checking everyone over for curable injuries. After helping where she can, Tara turns her attention to helping Stefan search his way through the library.
Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Bert Shieldworn |

Bert slumps a bit when the wraith disappears and then helps with the search.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
He mutters to himself while searching "Need to get magic on my shield, something to hit those wispy things."

Dr. Stefan Von Herzog |

"Hmm... Magic scrolls of a divine nature. I don't think I have sufficient faith to call forth the minor miracles inscribed therein." He looks at Tara and Amaria and continues, "but one of you might be able to!"

Vivian Deberth |

I'm sure someone can use them, Stefan. But you are, I guess, the only one here able to use arcane spells, so be careful and don't take unnecessary risks. We might need your expertise and power. Is everyone all right?
Vivian checks the place to before leaving, still holding her sword
Amaria, if you need some arrows, I can give you a few.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

GM Harker |

Tara find some minor injuries on Vivian and Bert, as well as herself.
Injury Report: Tara has 5 damage, Vivian has 2 damage and 1 Con drain, while Bert has 3 damage and 2 Con drain.
Vivian performs another search of the abandoned library, but finds nothing else of interest.

The group soon then continues forward as the sun begins its gradual descent into the horizon. Following Bert's lead through the corn infested path, you come across another home. This two story house appears to be in better condition than many of the others in the village. Its door is shut and barred. Based on the information you received from the sisters, this would be the former residence of Karin, the girl who died after the Beast was driven out of the town. As you recall, the creature is still being prosecuted for her death as well.
Although the majority of the group does not feel it, those touched by one of the wraiths sense another source of cold inside the house.
If you want to search the exterior, please make a Perception check. No map necessary yet.
