Regarding advancement...
Since we do have a multi-classed character in the party, I'm going to rule that multiclassed characters can use the Fractional Base Bonuses system from Pathfinder Unchained.
As a wizard 1 / rogue 1, Gwyn would have a +1 BAB.

I'm running games at ConCentric most of this weekend, and Sunday night is my six year anniversary with my fiance. Don't expect a flurry of activity from me, and bot me as needed =)

Helena the Pale |

I got it. Not because I'm terribly familiar with the source material, but because I'd seen it referenced before, wondered what the hell people were talking about, and googled it. Quite a bit before my time!

GM Haladir |

"Bree-Yark!" is from the 1979 D&D module The Keep on the Borderlands.
One of the rumors PCs can hear at the keep is that "Bree-Yark" is goblin-speak for "we surrender." The rumor is false... it really means, "Intruders!"
The module was included in the 1981 D&D Basic Set, and was consequently the first module 12-year-old Hal ever ran.
I stil pull that module out every once in a while, mainly for the map of the keep itself. I've re-purposed that map dozens of times over the years!

So there's a bunch of stuff going on obviously, so what exactly are the bonuses floating around, or are there not any?

Kyrian Linwood |

Trying to be back. Things are iffy right now and it's spotty. It also doesn't help that I just got down to 0 hp as well. Next few weeks are going to be rough as internet will be sparse for me.

Helena the Pale |

All these dead goblins... are they unconscious, or actually dead? Because I can channel to 'keep everyone upright and breathing', but I don't want all those goblins to come up for round two.

![]() |

If Helena moved south and east past Gwyn wouldn't she be able to avoid most of the goblins because they would be out of range? She would just have to exclude the goblin Cerin is fighting and the cat, plus the one right next to her and the one diagonal from him.
Unless my distance calculations are completely off, of course...

Haladir |

The bushes are dripping wet with the constant fog, drizzle, and sea spray of the Lost Coast. You'll need a good amount of accelerant, time, and/or powerful fire magic to set these bushes on fire.
If it was easy to burn, the pyromaniac goblins would have burned down their own fort by now.

GM Haladir |

Hey, folks.
I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon on a five-day vacation to New England, and I am woefully behind in preparing for the trip, both personally and professionally. My posting will be sporadic at best until I get back late Monday night.
I should be resuming regular posting on Tuesday 10/13.

Kyrian Linwood |

Works out for me, I doing my move this weekend anyways lol. Stay safe Haladir!

GM Haladir |

Thanks everyone. I'm going to my old stomping grounds in Boston for the holiday weekend. I even plan to get some gaming in with some old college friends-- I'll be playing a special guest star (who's a recurring NPC ally) in their ongoing GURPS: Space Opera game! I haven't played GURPS in a decade...

Gwynethiel |

Yeah, I had to revert back to Windows 7 when I tried to upgrade. I think I'm just going to do a clean install and reinstall everything I need. I think having a bigger SSD for my main drive might also be in order, but that will be further down the road.

Kyrian Linwood |

Sorry about my end. Been a busy week getting restarted here, and had my first day of work today which is a good thing. I'll post tomorrow though for sure.

Helena the Pale |

Sorry for my silence. The last few days have been really rough, and I've had to take a step back for my own mental stability. I'm back now, and I should be able to resume some semblance of a normal posting schedule.
However, I will be out of town from Friday night to Sunday night (my time). The fella and I are having weekend in Victor Harbour to recharge our batteries, and I may not be able to post. If it holds things up, bot me.
Also, I didn't see any 'new' notifications for this. Apologies. >.>

Helena the Pale |

I'm feeling a bit better. Still getting frustrated with work, and having arguments with my fiance, but I figured out how to make my pdf reader restore my previous session, and I'm drinking green smoothies for lunch instead of eating kranskies, so... I guess it kinds evens out?
Levelling sounds nice. I believe I'll get a new revelation...

Helena the Pale |

You know German kransky sausage? One of those, with cheese, wrapped up in pastry like a sausage roll. The bakery near work makes them really nice, but they're stupidly fattening.

Oh dear god, that sounds so friggin good right now...

Hey-- Has anyone heard from Halvor/DM Crispy?
He hasn't posted here since the 15th. I just checked his profile page, and it doesn't look like he's posted anywhere on any of his aliases since then... including the two games he was GMing. I've just sent him a PM, and it looks like his other players and GMs have done the same.
I know I was posting a bit sporadically over the past few weeks. I think I'm back to more-or-less daily posting again.
I also know that Kyle ("Kyrian") and Ronnie ("Helena") are working through some things in their personal lives that are impacting their ability to post.
Do you think we should pause this game for a little while?

Gwynethiel |

I think that might be a good idea.
As for Crispy, I have no idea where he went. I sent him a PM a while ago and still haven't gotten a response. I think he may be dealing with personal issues as well, but I don't know for sure.
That said, I hope he is okay. I recently had a player show up after an unannounced absence, so who knows.

GM Haladir |

Even if we were running at full capacity right now, I'm worried that the party is starting to run low on resources. You weren't at full strength when you started the attack, and I wasn't expecting you to continue the fight all the way to the stockade.
Cerin and Gwyn: I think you are the only two players posting with regularity right now.
It's pretty obvious that you're about to finish off the goblin dogs. If it's OK with you, I'd like to end that combat with narration, and then move the story to a good pause point. I'd like to just say that you finish exploring the thistle maze, then think better of taking on the stockade for now. You retreat back to Sandpoint to rest and resupply and then return to take on the Thistletop Goblins for real tomorrow.
Returning to Sandpoint would also allow us to pause the game at a place where we can reshuffle the cast of characters if we need to... although I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that.
But, if you'd rather play it out, I'm OK with that, too.
Thoughts?

Gwynethiel |

I'm good with just hand-waving it. I'm tempted to do that in the game I'm running because I've got something planned that I am really, really looking forward to getting to. (Funnily enough, it's at the same spot we're at now.)

![]() |

I hope everything will work out for Kyle and Ronnie. My best wishes go with you!
I'm OK with narrating the end of the battle.
Although Cerin would probably want to charge in to take on the stockade. He's feeling a bit invincible with his new flaming sword!
;)
Kidding aside, it would be good to be 3rd level before tackling the goblin stronghold.

Kyrian Linwood |

I ain't done, just a little sporadic lol. I'd like to try and finish up in combat, but I think that we could at least play out the decision to head back to Sandpoint.

Helena the Pale |

I think I'll be able to start posting again now. For those wondering, I split with my fiance on Wednesday, and I've been pretty out of it since. Six years is a long time, and a lot to just finish.
But, I'm slowly getting better. I might not always be able to post in gameplay if I can't get into character, but I'll be hanging out here a lot.
