Mainly because it's a crackton to read at this point, have we actually had any interaction with Brodert Quink? I don't think we have, but I've had a couple of drop periods as well...

So other than the weapons, which I guess no one would be able to use and I'm not sure if we could sell as there probably isn't a whole lot of demand for small goblin weapons in Sandpoint, we have:
6 flasks alchemist's fire
3 flasks acid
12 tindertwigs
6 smokesticks
1 Medium masterwork alchemical silver dagger decorated with strange spiky runes
4 potions of cure light wounds
2 potions of jump
1 oil of darkness
35 gold ducats (gp)
40 silver shillings (sp)
Cerin would like a vial each of the Alchemist's fire and acid, as well as one of the cure potions. He is also interested in examining the dagger more closely if Gwyn doesn't want a look at it.
| Kyrian Linwood |
There was no way in hell Kyrian wasn't gonna let that one go Halvor, just sayin lol.
| Kyrian Linwood |
No worries. Watching Gwyn and Helena talk about their non existent sex lives and the philosophies of racial age differences is actually pretty fun to read. I'm curious about the apothecary though, but I feel that's a wet noodle story...
| Gwynethiel |
Most of it's just ad-libbing. All that we established before hand was that Gwyn and Helena were friends and had been so long enough for them to get up to some high jinks. Given Gwyn's personality, there's a lot of that to be had. ;)
@GM Haladir: As Kyrian says, no worries. We'll try not to burn the town down in the meantime. ;D
| Helena the Pale |
I like to think it was more a matter of Gwyn getting into hijinks, and Helena being caught up in it all. But yes, a lot of this is being made up as we go, and may never be elaborated upon. :P

I kinda do the same thing with Cerin's tales of all the places he's been and things he has done, just make up something without really elaborating on it.
Only I think your stories are much more fun... :)

New post coming shortly. I got myself side-tracked rebuilding a couple of NPCs using rules from newer sources like Advanced Class Guide and Pathfinder Unchained.
Speaking of Unchained, I am planning to adopt the optional rules rules for afflictions, such as poisons and disease.
The rules are over at d20PFSRD.com, but here's how poison will work...
Poison:
When first exposed to a poison, before the saving throw is rolled, a victim takes hit point damage equal to (poison DC–10)/2. (e.g. a poison with a DC of 18 would cause 4 hp poison damage.) There is then a debilitation track based on the ability score the poison affects; these effects are cumulative as the victim advances along the track. After the onset time, the victim begins making saving throws; failing the save moves the character down the debilitation track until the poison is cured (via saving throws or otherwise) or the poison runs its course. Specific poisons may have differeng debilitation tracks (e.g. some lead to death, others lead to different effects.) After the poison is cured, the character then moves back up the debilitation track each round until Healthy again. (Note: Magical effects such as neutralize poison immeditately end the poison effect, bringing the victim immediately to the Healthy state.)
e.g. Dexterity debilitation track is:
Healthy -> Sluggish -> Stiffened -> Staggered -> Immobile -> Dead
Sluggish: -2 penalty to AC, Dex-based attack rolls, and Dex-based skill checks.
Stiffened: Above, plus victim is considered flat-footed and denied Dex bonus to AC; Cannot make attacks of opportunity.
Staggered: Above, plus the staggered condition.
Immobile: Loses ability to move; if was standing is now prone; character is also helpless.

Unchained has some fun mechanics in it for sure. I enjoy that book.

Linking back to a couple of things I've posted in the past, just as a reminder...
Currently for sale at Savah's Armory:
-All simple and martial weapons, and all armor from Core Rulebook, standard quality and materials.
In addition, she has the following items for sale:
Cerinnibert

Since no one has claimed any of the items we found, does anyone care if we sell off the smokesticks on the way to the armory? That would be an extra 60gp, or 12pg each.
Did Gwyn take the silver dagger with the spiky runes? I think she used detect magic on it, but I don't remember if she wanted to keep it.
| Kyrian Linwood |
That's fine with me as well, but I gotta be honest. I have no friggin clue as to what's current on the treasure list, what's not, what actually has been claimed, what's been sold, and how much we actually have for ourselves.
Cerinnibert

I had completely forgotten the +1 Tiny Cold Iron Returning Dagger! At 50% cost we would have another 5,002 gp, or about 1,000gp each.
We should probably see if we can take it out in trade...
Cerinnibert
|
If we sell everything unclaimed:
11gp alchemical silver dagger
60gp 6 smokesticks
153gp mw hand axe
5002gp +1 cold iron returning dagger (tiny)
5226gp / 5 = 1045 gold ducats, 2 silver shillings each.
And we also have an unknown wand we need to identify.
Cerinnibert
|
Haladir, would Cerin be able to use the +1 buckler as a light shield? And is it wooden or metal?
No worries on the posting, I have been very busy myself.
| Kyrian Linwood |
So what about the stuff that was claimed by Lynnda and Krissina? Are we just gonna take those as losses then?
| GM Haladir |
In-game, Lynnda has left, and took her share of the treasure she helped recover with her. (If she was indeed the person that Justice Ironbriar was looking for, she's apparently some kind of grifter.) Krissina has likewise held onto her share of the treasure; she's still around, so you could try to ask her for some of it back, I suppose.
Cerin: I'd previously established that the +1 buckler was made of metal. It's decorated with a golden double-headed eagle.
Re: Unknown wand: Let's say that after spending some time with it and examining its magical aura at length, Cerin has figured out what it is: it's a wand of resize item with 20 charges.
Note: While there is a Paizo-published spell of the same name, this wand uses the spell resize item of my own design. I've been using this spell in my homebrew games for years.
So, with that wand, you'd be able to resize that dagger.
Normally, Savah would only be offering 1/4 list price for weapons smaller than Small or larger than Medium, but she might just make an exception in this case.
Cerinnibert
|
So, do we want to resize the dagger and sell it so everyone can have some money or keep it for one of us to use? I'm inclined to sell it as, even magical, it's still only a dagger.
| Kyrian Linwood |
Well does anyone have use for a dagger?
Cerinnibert
|
If we did sell the dagger, Halvor could afford the MW breastplate and Kyrian, Helena, and Gwyn could decide who buys the Mithral Chain Shirt and +1 buckler.
| Kyrian Linwood |
That very well could be fun lol. I'd love the chain, but I don't have the proficiency to wear it lol.
Cerinnibert

This is a Mithral Chain Shirt, which is light armor, and the Armor Check penalty would be 0, so it doesn't really matter anyway.
Unfortunately, no armor for Gwyn Spells tend to fizzle when she wears.
Spell Failure chance would only be 10%, and if Gwyn wanted to take Arcane Armor Training at 3rd, it would drop to 0%!
Add to that Mithral is considered Masterwork, so you could have it enchanted later.
Just sayin'
:)
| Kyrian Linwood |
Ooh, you're right. I forgot about that lol. Would we be able to reason the price down cause I'm not sure if I'm there yet or not in cost.
Cerinnibert

The list price would be 1,100gp, so you should be pretty close.
Edit: It looks like you only have 10gp right now, so you are 45gp short. Cerin can lend you the ducats, don't worry about it.

So, do we have any Full Metal Alchemist fans in the house? If so, I wonder how long Imperious Rex has been a horsey expy of Alex Louis Armstrong.
"I shall now inspire you to greater heights with the flowing mane technique that has been passed down the Armstrong line for generations!"
Yeah, that seems like something Imperious Rex would say if he could talk.
| GM Haladir |
Sorry-- I don't really get the reference. My daughter watched Fullmetal Alchemist when she was younger, but I never really got into it. I caught a few episodes here and there. I liked the idea of an alternate universe where the laws of science were different, allowing magic alongside early 20th-century technology.
We're putting our 16-year-old daughter on a plane bound for India later this morning-- she's heading out on a 10-month cultural exchange. We won't see her again until June or so! We're all extremely excited and more than a little nervous about the exchange. Getting her ready for this experience is a big reason why my posting rate plummeted in recent weeks.
I'm on vacation by myself in NYC for the rest of the week. (Well, my wife is here too, but she'll be at a professional conference.) I'm expecting that I'll have plenty of time to stary posting daily agian. This should continue when I get back home, too: with the travel plans behind us and the teenager out of the house, I should have a lot more time on my hands.
Anyway, time to write stuff on the Gameplay thread!

I just know that Netflix doesn't have the whole Brotherhood series which highly upsets me. I want to see the rest of that series, and Crunchyroll doesn't have it...
| Halvor Tanner |
As far as the flaming +1 scimitar, from a loot perspective I would say that if Cerin truly wanted it, we should make the trade. It cuts down on cuts of treasure for the rest of us, but Cerin gets a really nice weapon that will last him for many levels, and we basically get it at a 50% discount.
| Gwynethiel |
Re: Fullmetal Alchemist: I really couldn't tell you. Whatever was on Netflix streaming 3 or 4 years ago. I do remember that some of the imagery was very disturbing, and I questioned whether or not to continue letting my daughter watch it.
Honestly, I wouldn't let my kids watch it until they were in their mid-teens probably (moot point since I am unmarried and have no kids.) It has some very disturbing elements, but those are mainly used to highlight the virtues and faults of the characters. If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then I'll just say, that the creator of the series was probably trying to drive home there are some things you should not mess with.
That said, did we ever post what everyone's share was? I can't remember and don't have the time to go diving for it.

I actually just realized I messed up slightly on the cost estimate, I think I forgot to add the masterwork component for the dagger.
11gp alchemical silver dagger
60gp 6 smokesticks
153gp mw hand axe
5152gp +1 cold iron returning dagger (tiny)
5376gp / 5 = 1075 gold ducats, 2 silver shillings each.
Cerin wouldn't know this after failing his appraise roll, but would anyone else realize that we are getting shorted by her offer? The +1 flaming scimitar would be only 4,315gp, so we would be losing 1,837gp!
She should throw in the breastplate and the buckler at least...
