Sritaro's thee-section staff hits the badger with a resounding crash. With an 'ooomph' from the animal it goes down!
Out of combat!
You heal up, check the woman for her possessions and find out she is still alive, although breathing slowly.

You check behind the door. Two desks facing each other occupy the center of this room; each covered with stacks of reports, maps, and other pieces of paperwork. A large map of Nirmathas hangs from the north wall. You spend a few minutes investigating the piles of paperwork on the desk and find enough evidence to implicate a person named Zurnzal—and possibly another called Madreki Gael—in the theft of Guaril Karela’s goods, as well as in the rumor campaign against the Pathfinder Society in Tamran.
You also find a thick bundle of bloodstained faction mission notes written by Guaril Karela. You also find two other notes in the desks see map
Oleander finds reference to a name "Madreki" in the stack of documents. Quinray tells the rest of you "That is likely Madreki Gael. He is a member of a disgraced Sczarni family that attempted to kill Guaril Karela about a year ago! We should get this information to Guaril!"
The other rooms in the basement are filled with supplies or are living quarters. You detect a secret door, leading to the escape tunnel. You assume it finally leads to the door where Guaril Karela is waiting.

Oleander: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 extra+2 vs humans
Sritaro: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Kamu: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 with scent
Silas: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

"Wow, Scazni, Aspis and Razmiri... a whole selection of unpleasant folk."
Oleander leads the way down the tunnel towards Guaril.
"Let us hope this puts the matter to an end. We'll have to cart the crazy woman back to the authorities I suppose."
GMG |
Guaril is waiting for you outside "Good to see that you made it out! Did you find out who stole my goods?"
Oleander Anwamanë |
Oleander nods.
"A strange consortium indeed. Varasians..." she gives Guaril a hard look here. "Razmiri.." She pauses "And the Aspis."
"Two names jump out. Zurnzal—and Madreki Gael—"
She takes out the bloody notes.
"These were written by you.." she says.

"Madreki Gael you say? Let me see these notes I have written" Guaril says as he holds out his hand. He looks at them shortly and then returns them
"Do you still have that note that asked you to come to the docks, that was supposedly written by me? I guess they took these notes from the people in my caravans and used them to forge my handwriting and signature."
He sits down on a stone and looks up at you "With Madreki Gael’s involvement, I suggest you give me the documentation you found and also the woman. With my vast knowledge of the Gael family, I am in the best position to track down Madreki and Zurnzal."
He twirls his mustache and continous "You better not turn the documents or the woman over to the Ashfall Lodge first, because in order for my plans to be effective, I must keep some information close to the chest. Off course I will share enough information with the Venture Captain to exonerate the Pathfinder Society."
Who will receive the information? Discuss!

sense motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 Is he telling the truth?
On the surface there doesn't appear to be any reason not to give the notes to Guaril. These are just old faction mission notes are they? Have we checked over them at all?
GMG |
he is asking for all documents, not just the notes.
Guaril is telling the truth, but seems anxious to receive all evidence.
Sritaro of the Thunder Tribes |
Sritaro is willing to agree with Guaril; his Sczarni contacts were willing to hire him as a mercenary and helped him get a field promotion into the Society.

Silas Kincaid |
Not really worried about the politics and perhaps eager to end this deadly mission, Silas shrugs, "I don't see any problems with that."
GMG |
Oleander: you did not notice any mention of Guaril in the documents in the few minutes you took to flip through them.
Oleander Anwamanë |
Oleander looks to the others, but sees no issue with handing over the documents.
"So long as the society is cleared, that is the main thing."
Sritaro of the Thunder Tribes |
"Thank you.", is all Sritaro says to the others with a hint of respect for keeping him and Kamu alive in the vicious battle before they met with Guaril.

You give Guaril the evidence and return to the lodge in Tamran. Venture -Captain Tolal is thrilled to see you return and quickly heals you. In the following days Guaril provides the Venture-Captain with enough evidence to clear the Pathfinder Society’s name. The people of Tamran mostly blame Molthune, but a few remain suspicious of the Society....
You return to Absalom after resting for a few more days, ready for new adventures!
