Manny tries to calm the maze but doesn't quite succeed. Perhaps it's still offended by Manny telling it to shut up earlier... Liam, however, manages to calm the maze enough to leave them alone for the next 10 minutes.

Teja, with help from Manny, finds a vital clue of where to go (Crit Success). Zabu likewise also finds a clue of where the party should be heading. Makai and Kohl make an attempt but are not successful.

Liam and Taja manage to find their way forward, while Manny continues to try to placate the maze...

The labyrinth has somehow transitioned from solid stone to a black void filled with stars. The transition was so subtle that the stone path can’t even be seen any longer. Though it still feels as if there is solid footing, there is nothing but stars and the dark between in all directions. These stars form constellations seeming to point to paths going this way and that.

Manny's magic triggers as a blue-skinned humanoid emerges from behind the gugs. "I thought you'd never ask, Manny." She unfurls her wings to reveal a glaive.

As Manny begins his spell, both Gugs take a swipe at him with their claws.

One swipe connects. Manny manages to duck and the other one misses. Manny summons an angel that strikes at Red from behind. Unfortunately, neither strike connects. Manny then empowers his companions against their foes.

Kohl eagerly strikes at R,B: 1d2 ⇒ 2 with his flail, hitting it and grabbing onto it. He strikes at it twice more, missing with his second attempt but slamming the Gug with extreme force with the third blow. So hard was the blow that the Gug is knocked off its feet!

"This is why you have a shield, Prentiss," Liam mutters to himself.

Keeping the shield up this time, he activates one of his gadgets which triggers a minor explosion. It stings a bit, but cauterizes some of his wounds and vaporizes some timely medicinal herbs.
The explosion is a little more energetic than anticipated, however, and a panel blows off. Healing others may require alchemy.

But maybe they won't need it if he can knock down one of these things?

Makai blocks Red's attack with her shield. She backs out of reach of the Gugs and heals Kohl.

Kohl springs back into action and clobbers Blue. The hit is decisive and Blue appears weakened and a off-balance by the attack.
