Welcome to this game of Tide of Morning! This game will be played following the Standard PFS rules.
I first want to get my 'house rules' out of the way so we have a common understanding. I assume you will have read this.
Please give me the following information:
1. Player/Forum Name
2. Character's Name
3. Class and level
4. PFS# (and dash)
5. Faction
6. Day job Roll (if any)
Please take notice of the following:
Woodenman

I know we filled out what level characters we had available for the signup form....so do we know what subtier we will be playing here?
I've got a range of characters that can play this 1-5 and I would like to get a feel for what everyone else is playing before I make my final choice.

For those who have decided on their character: gameplay is also open, where you can introduce your character.
As for tier: I asked for character level to see whether I could already set a subtier while mustering, but in the end I did not use that info, so you have to decide for yourself.
Looking at Kennick and Jeb's levels I think tier 1-2 is best.

In case Zaarah successfully parries she uses 'Reposte' as an immediate action to attack the opponent that attacked him by expending a Panache Point (currently 4/5 and 3/5 after potential reposte remaining).
I am confused. Why would you expend 2 panache on a parry and reposte? Reposte costs an immediate action, but you expend no panache (although you need to have at least 1 panache when reposting).

Oh sorry, I thought I had used a panache before!
So it is 5/5 panache that she currently has and
- should she be attacked, and
- should the opportune parry then succeed,
- THEN she would reposte as an immediate action and expend a Panache Point so that she would then only have 4/5 panache.
;-)

No problem, I also have a swashbuckler(lvl 5) and I think I have a good grasp on their rules up to that level, so that is why I asked. It could be that I missed something.
I think it should be:
So it is 5/5 panache that she currently has and
- should she be attacked, and
- should the opportune parry then succeed, costing her a Panache and an attack of opportunity so that she would then only have 4/5 panache
- THEN she would reposte as an immediate action and expend a Panache Point so that she would then only have 4/5 panache.

Again sorry! You are completely right!

I edited my post to fix my damage roll (rolled a d20 instead of d10). Does that make the system reroll everything? I could have sworn that I passed the Sense Motive DC originally. That's why I wrote my post as I did. My Knowledge & Distract Fort save seems to have changed as well. If he doesn't succeed at the SM then he will not be trying for NL damage.
The paizo dice roller is based on position within the post. That means that if you have this section:
Attack roll d20 with result 19
and then add a new die above it the result will be
Saving throw d20 with result 19
Attack roll d20 with result 5
If you change the die type of the save to a d10 the first d20 roll will be the attack roll again, so result = 19.
To avoid misuse of this system I always start with any required rolls, in the order that they came up and then try to do things in a logical order. In your post I would probably do this:
- Fortitude vs distraction
- Fortitude vs poison
- Sense motive
- Knowledge (Nature) Fey
(- Knowledge (Nature) Spider swarm) alphabetical on knowledge type then enemy
- Attack roll
Because of this it is very important that when you make a critical threat you do the confirm roll at the end of your rolls and not put it in between. Note that the randomizer has this behaviour for each die type seperately.

Ok this is good to know. These things are not at all clear to me...particularly as a relatively recent player on these boards.

Hello, will not be able to post again this weekend so declared my action. Best to you!

I’m by no means an expert on these forums but it seems rare for people to Take 10 here. Is there a reason? Is it frowned upon?
GMG
I have also seen this. I have no idea why we tend to roll instead of taking 10 on these forums, while taking 10 would have been allowed in a lot of thes cases.

Hi! In the campaigns I have played we normally do not allow to take 10 if the situation is stressful. So in this case people are standing in front of us and a fight might be the next step. Also diplomacy rolls of 5 or more below the DC usually result in a negative change in attitude. If we always could just take 10 this risk is negated.
But if that is ok for you GMG then I do not mind to take 10! ;-)
GMG
Zaarah, you are of course correct. This is a stressful situation, so no take 10 allowed. I thought Alrik asked this in a general way.
For the spellcraft checks for instance most people do not take 10. I think that is because most GMs put the DC in the spoiler and it feels like cheating to take 10 when you can make the check and then roll for the others.

Quick post to let you know that I won't update this game today because of other priorities.
Zaarah Katsu

Yes, but that is fine. Zaarah is a follower of Chaldira so jumping into situations was supposed to get her killed at some point! ;-) But hopefully not now!

Sorry folks, work hit me hard. Tomorrow is a national holiday over here and it might be that I won’t have time in the weekend either.
And to make matters worse I will also be out of internet for a few days between May 2nd and May 6th because of a short holiday. We will return to a normal schedule then.

Our GM will return to the game may 7th I understood.

;-) I hope you had a great time!!! ;-)
GMG
Thank you all for playing, I had a great time with you all and am glad you finally managed to kill that annoying quickling. Please let me know if you have any questions, need an adjustment to the chronicle or want to discuss something else.
I intend to inactivate this campaign early next week.
Edit: Kennick, your PFS number is -42, not -32... I adjusted the chronicle.

Jeb is attempting a faction mission. "Forgo your downtime to finalize a report to the Pathfinder Society. Doing so requires a successful DC 15 INT WIS or Prof Scribe check."
