Kryolani |
"Figures." Celest says, accidentally bumping into Sorry was it? "All the good lookin' ones are fighting for the other kingdom."
"Woah, hey, not fighting necessarily. Not yet anyway. I'm loyal, don't get me wrong, but I'd much rather talk my way out of a situation that fight my way out." Kryolani proclaimed with a shrug. "There's always time later for things to devolve into a fight."
"Where are you from, anyway, that Brevoy is 'the other kingdom'?" he asks, shifting to a suddenly much more interesting topic.
Roksana 'Rok' Jedynak |
”It is beautiful, don’t you think?”
Roksana grunts her approval as she once again starts mimicking the duelists movements. She doesn't look toward Sorry but maintains the conversation, an exercise in splitting her attention.
"So, are you here on behalf of the military then? What's their interest in the Stolen Lands, it's awfully far away?"
She continues listening as Celest turns the conversation towards a more aesthetic topic and she laughs at Kryolani's defensiveness.
"I think you'll find its the diplomats who stay pretty the longest, but it's hard to match a soldiers fire ."
Kordrek Golka |
"I think you'll find its the diplomats who stay pretty the longest, but it's hard to match a soldiers fire ."
Grunting approval "Here, here. Many a fine dwarf shield-maiden that only grew finer after being through a skirmish or two." Standing up situation Suori back under his cloak, Kordrek looks up towards the swordlords. "It seems as if we are about to hear a decision, I wish all of ye the best of luck."
Celest Slyblade |
"--Heheh! So-so while it is true that a soldier's loyalty to his master must be unshakable in the face of the other side's enticements then how limber must a diplomat be to be able to bend his or her thoughts to go both ways? And who among us do you suppose has such flexibility?" She smiles deviously at Rok barely containing her laughter.
"And I'll say this as a warrior through and through Mr. Golka, I have seem more than skirmish or two and accounted myself most expertly in each engagement. I've lain low a score of men and have always been left wanting for a duelist who might be my equal."
Issi Flamehair |
"See, they're talking about mating again! Everyone wants to mate with Mr Shiroz's friend... Issi manages to whisper to Kaya in a slightly strangled voice before bursting out laughing at Kryolani's rather defensive response.
She slumps back in Regin's fur, bell-like laughter ringing out across the courtyard as her hair lights up with gold and orange highlights which dance around her face as she chortles.
The sneaky lady is funny!
Celest Slyblade |
Yuck! Typos!
Issi: ;)

Evan Rivers |
Evan is happy to be welcomed back by Kryolani. Having companions such as this might not be such a bad things. His happiness quickly dissipates by Celest's comment though. He carefully removes the arm around his shoulder and answers seriously. "I at least don't swing that way. I understand your boredom from waiting, but I feel there is still much to be gained, for all of us, by discussing relevant issues, even if we aren't going on the expedition."
He turns back to Kryolani, "I've never stayed in one place in Brevoy for more than a couple weeks, if snow impeded our travels, though I was born in New Stetven. Thanks for the welcome though, you are a nice guy, even if I'm not interested in you in the way Celest suggests."

Kryolani flaps his hand dismissively, "No need to apologize to me, I'm not the one who was suggesting anything. Besides, my family name sort of requires me to approach all manner of romantic entanglement as political opportunity, rather than seek them out for love or entertainment."
"Now, New Stetven, there's a place I've not visited in ages. Father used to bring my sister and I through once every other year or so. The whole place was mud and cedar woodchips, every time. We purchased the most intricate wooden serving bowl I'd ever seen there, and the parties were a blast. I'm a Restov lad myself. We mostly export temperamental young nobles.
Serolt |
”You misunderstand me. They have no real interest in the stolen lands. I haven’t left the army, I wasn’t discharged yet. I have a recommendation letter from High General Dujek Onearm. If turns out I’m not fit, I’ll be returning to the army.”
"Fascinating. I find your loyalty to be rather incredible. This task surely must be beyond and above your 'normal' duties I should think. The rigidity of military life just don't seem to sync with an expedition of this sort."
Serolt is truly surprised, but then he cannot imagine subjecting himself to a military post. Not nearly enough freedom for him.

Well we're winding down. It's been a pleasure everyone - thank you for your applications and the effort you've put in. It's very much appreciated. Good luck all!
Roksana 'Rok' Jedynak |
Roksana keeps watching the duelists and finds her self slowly drifting out of the conversation. She gets a sense that the announcement is coming soon and she's suddenly anxious, almost as though a battle is about to begin. She falls into her own practiced stretches to calm herself down, awaiting judgment from the Sword Lords, hoping for a chance at glory.
Good luck everyone!

FINAL SELECTIONS
Alright ladies and gentlemen, I think I've finally come to a decision. It's been an incredibly hard process, because there were many GREAT characters here, and you did an amazing job in bringing them to life in this recruitment thread without anything new event to provide you with an easy topic to discuss. My choice has been made considering a number of different factors that would take too much time to explain in full detail here, and...You're still reading? Well, I suppose you've just jumped to the final selection list below, so why even bother to add anything else? So, my final decision is to go for a 5 members party composed of the following characters:
- Kryolani Surtova - Robert Hodgson
- Reknar - Edeldhur
- Roksana "Rok" Jedynak - Xynen
A big, big, BIG thank you for all the effort you've put into your amazing characters. I think I could have recruited 2 full parties with the good materials I had, but I'm sure you can understand that running such an high-pace game will require a great effort on my part, so I wouldn't have been able to run two tables.
To those who were not selected - Do not lose hopes. My games are usually very challenging and sometimes players cannot just commit to them anymore. If that happens, I won't open recruitment again, but simply PM someone among this recruitment's applicants.
To those who were selected - I'm going to open the Discussion Thread in the next few hours, so make sure to check in later today.
Reknar |
Wow, thank you GM Giuseppe.
I must admit it is a great feeling to be selected among such a group of candidates. In all honesty, there were more than enough to make up several Kingmaker games.
I am hyped about this one, and really curious to see how Reknar will grow, and relate to the rest of the group. The long scope of the game is really something I am looking forward.

I'm sad to see Evan wasn't selected. This game has pretty much everything I am looking for in a game. Games like these are few and far between on the boards and I think I could have contributed well to it. Still, with so many great applicants it's perfectly understandable that others were evaluated to be better. I hope you all have a great game. If a slot should open up I would be happy to have Evan fill in. He'll continue his travels through the River Kingdoms and Brevoy regardless of what the rest of the group does.
