Sorry guys, had internet issues in my room for the whole day. Please bot Ben if needed, I'll post tomorrow morning.

So, a (hopefully) amusing story that I think you guys would appreciate. The scene is mid-morning maybe a week or so ago, after I've come off of working two night shifts in a row. After having made a few posts for PbP, but not to every game, I go downstairs and crawl into bed. My husband is awake, watching videos on his phone. We talk for a few minutes and then I settle in to watch something that he wants to show me...and next thing I know, I'm being nudged to move.
Husband: Hey, this is nice and all but the snoring right in my face isn't really doing it for me.
Me: *rolls over, mumbles* Hokay, I'll try and get a post up later...
Husband: ...What?
Me: *still mumbling, but starting to wake up a bit more* I said I'll try and get a post...oh...
Husband: *now laughing* Orly?
Me: Wait, no...shut up, don't laugh at me...
Husband: I will, because that was hilarious!
Me: *rrrrrrr's into my pillow, then promptly falls asleep again*
The lesson I took away from this is that I probably PbP way more than is healthy for one person :P

Nice story Flo!
Also, detracted funds from Ben's wealth.

Ben, I'm a little short on time and I wanted to try and at least help move the current scene along a little bit before heading to work. I will get a proper reply to your last spoiler written tonight after work :)
Also, bit of a change of subject, but in about a month or so I'm going to start the three-part Faithless & Forgotten scenario series for PFS at the request of a friend. All three scenarios are Tier 1-5 and I've got one spot left at the table (subtier TBD but I've definitely got a lvl 3 and a lvl 1 playing so likely low-tier). If anyone here is interested in playing then just let me know!
Prof. Benedictus Dickens |
Flo: take your time, I really care about that scene and I don't mind if it takes a little longer, if that means we have a better time playing it.
As for your scenario, I might be interested, you know? What is the expected posting rate, approximately?

Ben - I'm going to be aiming for at least 1/day from everyone (including myself) most days. On the days that I'm not working I'll try and pick up the pace a bit and I'm also hoping to use this next month to get a lot of stuff prepped in advance and maybe some of the descriptive parts pre-written to save time. I also try to give my GMed games posting priority when I'm making my forum rounds. I've read some of your own recruitment threads in the past and I know you usually prefer a pretty brisk posting pace so I completely understand if you'd rather pass for now :)
Also wow, I missed a bunch of awesome stuff yesterday, much to my regret. I'm starting to wonder if I need to get my general health checked out because I've really struggled with tiredness and not being able to get stuff done because of it lately. Or it might be some sort of mild seasonal depression, I'm not sure. All of this is perhaps a little TMI but I do feel that I owe some sort of explanation for having missed a few days entirely over the last month or so.
*edit, facepalms as she realizes the above two paragraphs might seem to be in conflict with each other*
In case anyone is wondering, "How Flo, how are you gonna handle GMing when you're having trouble posting as a player on some days? Is that a good idea?" My answer would be: I'm going to play less for awhile. Once my current PFS-player games end, I'm going to take a break from playing so I can just focus on GMing and playing in my long-term games.

Heck, I'm just amazed that it took nearly 4 years and an inordinate amount of PbP games for me to see "Hey let's go to the brothel" suggested and it NOT be part of an investigation :3
(Hiring surprise hookers for other party members has been a thing that's happened in home games more than once.)

I'm here but I don't really have anything to add at this point.
Nidhi isn't fond of libraries and isn't particularly motivated to research - especially after spending so much time in the Library of Tephu already. She's perfectly happy to be in the spotlight of some tavern, garnering attention and possibly free food.

Still waiting here too.
Please note that evening is about to arrive in Paris, and as such I won't be able to post for today.

Well, Nidhi could do very well on the pub circuit. I know adventuring is hard, so maybe Nidhi peels off and works the public houses in Wati and Tephu... maybe even Sothis! She certainly has some skill.
Do you want to retire Nidhi and have her do just that? She'd be able to spend more time with her family then too. :)

Sorry Zilchus, I didn't think that your post was waiting for an answer, due to the initial lines and to the fact that you don't speak with Ben directly.
Assuming that Ben (completely unreasonably) refuses Zilchus' very very nice offer of a good brotheling (paid for by Zilchus) wherein Zilch is promising to get Ben a nice girl with some teeth *and* hair, then I'll be happy to proceed to tomorrow morning...under protest. Ben, Zilchus won't always be this willing to help you find love in all the wrong places and strongly consider that you take him up in it.
Your OOC seemed quite literal to me, especially considering that I had already pushed in the direction of skipping to the next morning, refusing the brothel option.
Hope that's not a problem, just a misunderstanding.

^Italian, I believe. Doing some schoolwork in Paris though, from what I remember from previous posts :)
Also I just realized that we totally missed our 1 year anniversary back on the 14th of January! Happy Belated Gameiversary, guys! Two whole books in a year, definitely the fastest game I'm in or have ever been in :)
Prof. Benedictus Dickens |
@Ben: You're so fluent in English, sometimes I forget your first language is French XD
Well thank you Nidhi! Actually Flo is right. Italian is my native language, but that still does not make English my first language so...thank you! In truth, sometimes I wish I was more fluent. I have never lived in an English-speaking country, but I plan to do so in the future, so perhaps I will get a little better than now.

Depends on the spell.
You need to be able to see it to target it but if the spell effects an area of effect rather than an individual target, it can effect the creature if it's in the area.

Aw, hang in there! I hope it's just a result of a busy week and nothing more serious.
My own schedule's all frigged up this week too; worked Fri/Sat/Sun night, was off yesterday, work tonight, off Wednesday, work day shift Thursday, work night shift Friday, off Saturday and hopefully Sunday.

So it might just be me but when I zoomed in on the map just now, the positioning of Ptolemy's icon on Ben's icon makes it look like Ben has a bad case of alien facehugger...

LOL XD
Indeed yes!
Anyway, Flo, just wanted to let you know that I'm going to give our personal scene one last answer as soon as I will have the time to do so. Last week has been infernal.

Hey everyone!
I took the liberty to create this document with all the information we gathered in the Spiral Archive, so that we may have a clearer and quick reference to what our characters know.

Asdfghjkl I'm so sorry!!! I've been a total slacker this past week. I'm currently getting my MEd in addition to my normal routine and responsibilities. :( I'm so tired at the end of the day. Maybe I need some extra coffee to keep up with the kids? I've been going to bed by ten or earlier these days.
I'm also getting married on the 28th. No honeymoon planned yet!
GM Euan |
Yes, congratulations on both scores! I don't have a Masters (though my brother has his MEd) but I have been married for going on 27 years and can definitely suggest that course! :)
Zilchus Lyghtlode |
Oh congrats, Nidhi.
Here, let me plan that honeymoon for you.
There. Perfect. That was easy and no need to thank me.
Prof. Benedictus Dickens |
Congrats, Nidhi!
As for the Paizocon...I dream to attend, one day! (Perhaps not so far...)
