Maximo Interresante |
"Devilish creature bit off more than it could chew, I'd say." Maximo grins through the pain, not quite looking as addled as usual. Whatever alchemical concoction he drank seems to have restored more than just a youthful body. Wiping his greatsword on the hide of the hound, he puts the weapon away with care. Then, with a wave of a hand, the burns and bite marks he suffered diminish somewhat.

"You all fought valiantly, now let us see to the lovely lady."
Mifune the Ronin |
"...better days, this one has seen."
Resting wearily against his katana, Mifune stood up with what last vestiges of strength he could muster as he moved towards the mechanism that controlled the Paracountess's cage. Trying his best to make heads or tails of the contraption, he made a valiant effort to free the woman from her captivity.

Right, sorry I completely forgot about the guidance bonus.
I'm glad this is over with. You look like you've seen better days, friend Mifune.

Krikoff slips out of the shadows and rejoins the others around the body of the Warhound. "Mighty fight-fight." he croaks. "Find the Paracountess and get out-out I suggest!"

Standing around the control mechanism at the back of the chamber, the party is eventually able to put their heads together and figure out how to lower the cage. Once the Paracountess is unlocked from her cage, it is clear that she is in need of healing.
After healing her up the party is able to guide and carry Paracountess Dralneen back through the gate out of Hell. Leaving the dungeon behind, you are able to leave Citadel Vraid without further incident.

After exiting the Citadel, you make your way back to Korvosa with the Paracountess and meet Venture-Captain Heidmarch at Shoreline Drinkhall, where he hastily instructs medics to whisk Dralneen away. She thanks you for a job well done before exiting.
Venture-Captain Heidmarch reveals, "According to the Society's most recent intelligence, Chelish Queen Abrogail II has placed a bounty on the head of Tancred Desimire. It's unclear to us yet whether his crime prompted this or if he angered the queen in another way."
Shortly after returning to Absalom, you each receive a personalized letter from the paracountess mentioning details about each of yourselves that the paracountess wouldn't be expected to know. In addition to her profuse thanks and traditional innuendo, the letters also offer you a reward in thanks for your efforts, paid out of her personal wealth rather than the Cheliax faction's assets or the Society's pocketbook.
That's about it everyone! Game has been reported and chronicles have been sent via PM. Let me know if you have any problems! Thanks for playing, this was a fun group!

"We did well indeed. To know that there is a bounty on Desimire's head is a relief as well, though I imagine he will be a hard one to catch. At least we righted a wrong today."
Then whispering to Venture-Captain Heidmarch as Mifune's ears aren't prying: "Any news of Sascha Antif-Arah? I had hoped we would have news of her escape."
Thanks for running this scenario for us, EF! It was definitely a great experience. I loved the fast-paced game and the evocative encounters you staged for us.

The Venture Captain responds to Kynrac, "Ah, yes, she came in just before you did. The Pathfinder Society will be helping her get back on her feet, including a relocation program designed to keep the Hellknights off her back. Before we send her off though she has told us about an interesting cache of goods down in the sewers of Korvosa. I'll get some agents to look into it soon."
Maximo Interresante |
Maximo is all courtosy, chivalry, and charming smiles as the Paracountess is released. He offers her the newly clean and repaired garment found in her cell and an arm to lean on as the group makes its way from Citadel Vraid. However, the elixir he took in Hell soon fades, as does his strength, and before long both he and the Paracountess need some assistance to make the journey. More so, he doesn't quite recall everything that happened during his transformation, and what he does seems like a distant memory.

By the time you've returned to Korvosa Maximo has reverted to his former, old and addled, self.
"Excellent adventure, that was!" He raises a glass of ice wine in salute to his friends. "Defeated an evil knight and his devil dogs, fought our way to hell and back, and saved the fair princess! Hmm? Paracountess? No, I'm quite certain there was a princess involved."
