Uh, is there a reason to talk to his guy? I'm personally not keen on getting chummy with the locals. Especially the smilers; when I thing of them, I picture the "Mouth of Sauron" fellow from the extended edition of the Return of the King Movie.

I do feel a bit like I'm currently suffering from a bout narrativitis (or boxed text, as it is often called in PFS).

Irregular posting here these days, the exams are going on and I've got a lot of assessment work to do.

About the casting something else than a cantrip, the problem was that my prepared spell list wasn't quite ready for a foe like that. The two things I should have done, however, are enlarge person on Taran/Libri (let me know how you feel about being enlarged by the way) or summon monster II, which may not have been very useful because of the manticore's DR.

Jorac is leveled with one exception, the wizard bonus feat, for which I'd like your input. I was going to choose Craft Wondrous Items as a default, but with the amount of technology present in this campaign, I wonder if magical items will have enough focus. What do you think? Would you prefer me to focus on Craft Arms & Armors to enhance our combat efficiency? This could go well with technology anyway, since I believe technological items can also be enhanced magically.

Furthermore, here's a question for our GM: would it be possible to "store" that feat for the time being and get a technological crafting feat later on (for example, at 2nd or 3rd level in the Technomancer class)?

Regarding "storing" the feat, I have actually thought about that before (for example, a rogue waiting until level 2 to take his level 1 feat so he can take Weapon Focus, which requires +1 BAB). But I think the better way to do it is just take a feat now and then retrain it later.

So collapsed feat commentary:

The survivor feats (iron will, great fortitude, lightning reflees) go to greater based off of BAB. This seems unfair to wizards and other low bab characters - maybe tie it to character level instead?

Oh, and I finally got around to leveling Taran.

I attempted to pick through loot and nominally turn some in. I think Jorac should have the timeworn fire extinguisher (because it's pretty amusing) and still have Mefindio down as owner of the +1 inferno pistol Taran took the grenade launcher cause... grenades.

Since we are in media res perhaps folks can just note wish list items. We've got about 19000 in gold sitting around in the moment.

I'm reading a book right now called "The Epigenetics Revolution". Kind of a primer level pop book on the stuff that gets a little sciency in parts; pretty interesting. A lot of biology experiments sound very mad sciency (insert sex genes where there were never meant to be inserted! Mwahaha).

Now that we are nearing the end of book 2, I have an announcement to make (although two of you have already heard):

Sadly, after we complete book 2 and take out Hellion I will not be continuing this AP. This semester I have just gotten too busy and want to cut down on some of my longer-term commitments (APs) and frankly I am just having trouble getting in to this campaign, primarily because I do not have the impetus to keep up with the tech items/abilities and that is such a key component to this AP.

I've also gotten the impression that you guys might be having a similar experience with this AP; I've noticed that as players you often haven't taken advantage of the technology and I have a feeling that it is because you, like me, are sometimes already overwhelmed with how many things the PF system requires you to keep track of and adding unfamiliar tech items is just one more thing that requires a fair amount of effort to track and utilize effectively. If I had a lot more time to study up on the technology system I might be more enthusiastic about it but right now I just don't have the time required to do this AP justice.

Those of you playing in my other APs: don't worry! I'll still be finishing RotR and SS. Those are much more 'classical' adventures and easier (and more fun) for me to prepare/run and now that we are so far along I am committed to finishing them. And Mef: once we wrap this up I'll start JR back up some time before December.

If and when this AP is ever sanctioned I will contact all of you and hand out PFS chronicle sheets for the first two books.

Now let's heal up and go kick some AI butt!

While I'm sad to hear this news, I also understand your point of view. I think you're right when you're saying we're a bit overwhelmed by the tech stuff - we simply don't master it, and don't use (or think to use it) when we should.

In any case, I wanted to thank you for giving it a try, it was great while it lasted!
