You can make a 5ft step with no A.o.o but you wanted to move 15 feet, which you are not allowed to do without taking an A.o.o.... "You can move 5 feet in any round when you don't perform any other kind of movement. Taking this 5-foot step never provokes an attack of opportunity. You can't take more than one 5-foot step in a round, and you can't take a 5-foot step in the same round that you move any distance." My interpretation of the rules is, to do what you wanted with no A.o.o would require and acrobatics check.

yeah, i guess it would be a withdraw action. I thought withdraw had to be in a straight line, which is why i said 5ft step and move action. however, looking at the rules, you can withdraw without moving in a straight line, and you cant 5ft+move (even though that makes no sense). I said the wrong thing, but what i did is still possible under the rules. lemme know how you want to adjudicate it.
i thought you could take a 5ft step in the same turn as a move, but the 5ft step just wasnt free (essentially costing you a move action to move only 5ft and not provoke). i guess that, plus my thought that withdraw had to be in a straight line, are either vestiges of 3.5 or memories of homerules that i got too used to elsewhere

Falko's blood freezes as he watches the battle unfold, genuinely scared for the Skyseer: "Protect Nevard! Protect the Skyseer! Converge on the imminent threats!" he shouts as he tries to direct his companions and the policemen.
Then he notices the jaguar closing in on Nevard and Johnathan: "No..." then starts running parallel to the jaguar and directly towards the berline parked nearby, thus avoiding the skeletons, but not the sheer drop as he jumps off the stage, once more, arms and legs flailing in the air for balance.

Double move, directly south, then west, to put myself between Nevard and the incoming jaguar. If a single move is enough, Falko conjures a thick coat of grease in front of him.
