Everyone on board you set sail for Escadar. The journay is scenic but uneventful allowing you some time to relax and get some rest after the long days of travelling cross country. The trip takes about 12 hours in total before you reach the port at Escadar.
Getting to port in Escadar Sumore bids you fairwell as she hurries to tend to her own affairs. On shore again you take some time finding the waterside tavern called the Grindylow’s Goblet where Rees is meeting with the gillmen. He sends word of your arrival to the gillman embassy in Escadar to notify them you are ready to meet. At Grindylow's Goblet the sounds of a busy tavern echo off the wooden walls of this unusual building. Resting precariously over Escadar’s harbor, the Grindylow’s Goblet offers an unequaled view of the water. In the bar’s center, a thick glass aquarium presents a striking display. Within the tank, a coral statue of a goblin with the lower body of an octopus hosts a school of colorful fish that flit about the nooks and crannies of its tentacles.
Thick wooden planks support the tavern floor as it stretches out into the harbor, offering a splendid vista of Escadar’s harbor. Wooden walls and doors make up the tavern’s construction, and several torches fill sconces that cast the tavern in normal illumination. Two human servers busily provide food and drink to the tavern’s half-dozen patrons, and a striking woman tends the bar. Rees finds a table to sit and wait.
Map updated - Place yourselves where you want to be.
Theronna |
I moved kyrin and gilthanis. Do those positions work for ya guys?
Theronna places herself at a table near their MVP to keep an eye on him, as well as near one of the doors to watch who goes in and out.

A few minutes after everyone gets settled the gillman party arrives. Smaller and more low-key than the party the Pathfinder Society sent, the gillman contingent consists of only two Low Azlanti, a man and a woman. The male bears a delicately wrapped bundle of cloth, apparently around the Azlanti relic, while the woman acts as bodyguard. Seeing Rees they come over to the table the man carrying the bundle introduces himself "Ah, Mr. Rees your reputation proceeds you. I am Shoalo and this is my companion Ahrmisa." he motions toward the other gillman with him who remains silent and stoic.
Shoalo sits at a table and places his package before you. Ahrmisa stands behind him, eyeing the rest of the party suspiciously. Shoalo continues "Please place your item on the table for inspection." As Rees removes the artifact and places it on the table Shoalo hands over his artifact. He takes only a cursory glance at your offering before bundling it back up.
As Shoalo is wrapping up his, Rees takes his time examining the artifact.
Anyone wanting to can make an appraise check on the artifact.
Rees-Appraise: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Map is here. The link is also at the top of the page.
As the Shoalo starts to stand to leave, with Nalun, Kyrin and Felgatah's help Rees shouts out "It is a fake! They are trying to dupe us! Get the real artifact back.." As soon as this occurs the bartender drops a glass that shatters.

Surprise Round
Bartender, Shoalo, Ahrisma
The bartender intones some arcane words as some of the torches in the room spark in a bright flash of light.
Blind: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Everyone needs a will save [DC15] or blinded for 4 rounds
Shoalo and Ahrisma start to move for the door.
As everyone realizes that combat has started, the bartender moves over to the edge of the bar and casts a spell. As she finishes webs spring forth throughout the tavern trying to ensnare most of the party.
Should be able to see radius on map, basically everyone except Nalun needs to make a Reflex save DC14 or become grappled.
Shoalo moves to the door and opens it.
Round 1
Bartender, Shoalo, >Theronna, Kyrin, Ahrisma, Nalun, Gilthanis, Felgarath
Nalun Longstrider |
Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Ahhh gods be damned. I'm blind!
Nalun gropes around behind him and draws his sword.
Even while blind can Nalun move where he wants? If so he will move towards the door. If not he stays put. Also, where did you get those cool tokens, I'd like to use some for my pbp game.
Gilthanis Silverbrow |
will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
When my turn comes up...
Gilthanis will survey his surroundings and see what appears to be people moving to the left of him. He decides the only thing to do is attempt to get out of these blasted webs. He will take a move diagonal near the bar next to Kyrin. Seeing he is next to the bar, Gilthanis climbs over the bar to get out of the sticky webs and right next to the annoying bartender that put him in that predicament.
He lashes out at the bartender with his gauntlet.

"Blast! Get it back!" Theronna yells as she fumbles for her bow and stumbles in the direction the two were fleeing in.
Relys, unaffected by the surprise attack, soars after the two at his master's command.

Also you rolled a 2 for the blind so I'm assuming we're blinded for 2 rounds, not 4
Kyrin the Brave |
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Not blinded, or entangled in the webs, Kyrin moves to the bartender and swings his sword!
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Theronna struggles with her bow as she is effected by the blinding light. Her pet flies over to Shoalo and bites at him only leaving a scratch. Kyrin not effected by the magic moves to the bartendar and attacks, but with no luck. Ahrisma follows Shoalo, putting her self on the other side of the door and waiting for anyone to come and attack. As Nalun moves over not completely aware of his surroundings Ahrisma strikes out at him.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The spear jabs into Nalun leaving a large wound. Gilthanis gets over the bar trying to help Kyrin with the bartender but can't manage to hit her.
Fel-W: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Fel-R: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Felgarath, also blinded by the flash of light, but not hindered by the webbing moves over toward the door. The bartender tries to pull out a wand, opening herself up to attacks from Kyrin and Gilthanis. AoO from Kyrin and Gilthanis. Using the wand she bashes Kyrin with a ball of force, while Shoalo continues to make a break for it.

Kyrin adjusts his grip on his great sword, and strikes again!
Theronna |
Gunna go off memory...I'm assuming Ahsrima is blocking the door. And I remember Theronna had nothing in her way to the left.
Theronna, still blinded by the spell, continues carefully moving towards the side the gillman were moving towards, attempting to get out of the web spell.
Relys meanwhile continues to flail at the only Gillman it can reach now.

Since this was supposed to technically be finished on the 30th I'm going to fast forward a bit. Especially since the guy with the artifact has pretty much gotten away.
Shoalo runs off into the streets and you lose him in thr crowd. Ahrsima manages to slip away as well. You put the bartender down after a bit of a fight. Once the battle and confusion has settled Rees comes over. "Well this was a waste ofa trip and even worse we lost a real artifact. I can't say I blame you all, as things just went horribly wrong and I'll be sure to relay that to the Society. You might as well find a way back to Absalom. I'm going to talk to the embassy and see if there is anything I can do." he shrugs.
Returning to the Grand Lodge in Absalom, you are met with disappointment, but Drandle Dreng admits that it wasn’t just you who were duped. He says that the Decemvirate is not pleased, but places the blame more on himself than on the your group. Dreng warns that the Aspis Consortium is the greatest threat to the Pathfinder Society and that you should be ever vigilant against the organization in your ongoing careers.
That is the end you still succeed in the scenario even though you've lost the relic. If anyone has day jobs please roll them. I'll repot and get chronicle sheets up by Monday at the lastest.

no day job for me...if the dice didn't go against us we would have put up more of a fight, but when the baddies nearly all go first its kinda hard to recover for it. No hard feelings, besides web is a 2nd level spell so i think it might have been an uphill battle anyways lol :)
thanks for the game :)

Not every Pathfinder works for the Society full time. Some
are trained artisans, professionals, or performers and
earn extra gold on the side, between missions. During
these times, you can attempt a trained Craft, Perform, or
Profession check to see how much extra money you earn—
this is called a Day Job check. In the Pathfinder Society
campaign, you may make one Day Job check after the end
of each adventure. Certain Vanities (Pathfinder Society Field
Guide 60) allow you to further modify your Day Job rolls,
or even let you use skill ranks from other, more specialized
skills like Heal or Sleight of Hand as Day Job rolls.
Permanent bonuses from equipment, feats, racial
bonuses, and traits affect your Day Job check as they would
any check for the rolled skill, but temporary bonuses
such as those granted by spell effects, other than crafter’s
fortune, do not contribute, as the duration over which
the Day Job check is made is undefined and represents
a longer amount of time than a spell’s duration would
permit the bonus to remain. You may take 10 on a Day Job
check, but you may not take 20 nor can you aid another.
In order to determine how much money you make as
a result of a Day Job check, consult Table 5–1. Add this
amount to the Day Job box on your Chronicle sheet.

Awesome thanks. So, no day job roll for me.
