Victor takes out a mirror from his backpack and tries to angle it on the floor so that he can see into one of the holes in the wall without getting unnecessarily close to the hole.

Assuming Vreekka will share the information; just trying to increase the pace a bit.

Vreekka can confirm for Quinn that these are indeed real human skulls.

Victor is trying to see something.

As Victor slams his hand on the table the following scene appears on the table.

Lady Illirigarde appears in the table’s reflective surface, though she appears tired. A box carved with skulls is closed behind her as she furiously tries to align two delicate silver disks etched with compass directions. She looks down at a book, and lightning flashes brightly outside. When it subsides, the box is open, and the tiny winged creature is hanging from the nearby bookcase. It leaps at her throat with hate in its eyes, and the vision fades.

Yet Victor has a case of deja vu as the creature from the scene appears and leaps at him!

Meanwhile three little creatures appear from seemingly nowhere to menace the group!

Victor may take an AoO if he has a weapon in hand (or worn). If Cannoli or Vreekka have a reach weapon wielded they may also take an AoO. Knowledge (Arcana), (Religion), and (Nature) checks please.

What Vreekka knows!:
She knows the ugly flying creature is a homunculus, the small little creatures are mites (They have no resistance/immunity to fire but they are resistant to any weapon not made of cold iron), and there's something odd about the polished stone table where Lady Illirigarde appeared.

The splash damage: I'd like the other GMs here to weigh in. I'm going to post a link to an imgur showing the grid designation for missing a splash attack. I copied Vreekka's token and added the 8 lines around it. The one with the arrow point is #1 - which, by rule, goes "off-target in a straight line toward the thrower" and then the other 7 lines are 2 through 8 in a clockwise direction. I placed a shape (circle with an X) at where I believe 8 is located. Once the other GMs have weighed in I'll resolve the splash attack.

Going with Cannoli's suggestion I changed my map. I knew what I intended but I didn't communicate it well which is my fault. So I changed mine to place Vreekka in her 'firing position' and made that line red. The red line is also line 1, by rule, because that's going straight back towards the thrower. Now if you look at my map, your map, and the Imgur map they all agree on one principle: Line 1 is straight back to the thrower while Line 5 is on the opposite side away from the target. So counting clockwise starting with the red line being 1, the blue line (opposite side of the target) is 5, making line 8 the green line.

#2: Let me think some more. It's irrelevant in the sense that the mites are horribly overmatched by this group so whether you kill them in round 1 or 2 is just bookkeeping. I just want to get oriented to this to make sure I know what I'm doing in the future.

Looks correct to me. My approach was that the "firing line" is more north-to-south than west-to-east. Therefore, I assumed line 1 is going straight north from the target. (Also, even if you ruled that line 1 was going northwest, the splash damage would still hit both mites. ^_^)

Vreekka is at about 11 o'clock and that's the line that becomes line 1. That line extends to the opposite side of the target and becomes line 5 (about 4 o'clock). That's going clockwise which makes the green line (roughly 9 o'clock) line 8. Again, let me make it perfectly clear: These mites stand zero chance of doing any real damage and you guys are going to mop the floor with them whether the splash hits or not. This is me just trying to learn if I have the principle correct for future situations where it might matter.

To not have things bog down I'm going to sidestep the mite 'situation' for now by adjusting Vreekka's action to target the intersection next to Green instead of the mite itself. Daegon waits to see if they can apprehend the mite.

Try punching it...i can't get in there..and can't do non lethal with my spells...so i'm useless right now..

What? Where's your longspear so you can...oh wait I'm not a player now...

With no threats to his safety the Red Menace strikes at Cannoli!

Splat the Cat!: 1d20 ⇒ 51d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

But misses! He points at Cannoli and again speaks!

He's speaking Undercommon if anyone knows it. :)

The party is up once more; who knows how long it will take to defeat this really lucky powerful foe!!!

What, Victor rolled POORLY?!?! *falls over*

CG Catfolk Oracle 1 | Mods: +2 Dex Harrow | HP 11 (-0) | AC/Tch/FF 20/13/17 | CMD 15 16 | F/R/W 2/3/1 2/4/1 (Cat’s Luck Reflex) | Speed 30ft, Climb 20ft | 2 Star Folio Re-Roll 1/1 | Spells 1st: 4/4| Perc: -1 (30 ft sight, Darkvision, Scent), SM: +1 | Init: +4

Looking at Vreeka, the catfolk apologizes, ”My bad lady Vreeka, I shouldn’t have lumped you in with the boys. Your destruction of those two was sublime.”

She turns back to her foe and comments, ”It’s easy to say ‘keep one alive’ when you aren’t the one it is trying to stab. Besides, who are we to deny them the right to glorious death in combat?”

Cannoli tries to squash the mite again.

Morningstar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 for P and B: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

It’s super effective. Gorum and… pretty much every other deity are definitely not on her side today.

Victor has another go at hitting the mite...

Guardian looks at his blade in disbelief.

Perhaps it is too shadowy, and not substantial enough right now.

My kingdom for PFS1e hero points

The Red Menace must draw upon the strength of his lineage and his DR/Cold Iron to survive the palpable hit from Victor - but alas the strike is too strong and the Red Menace falls under Victor's martial prowess!

I'll update the scene a bit later this morning. :)

Cannoli offers a fist bump to Victor, ”Well struck, thank you.”

Panting for a few moments, she looks the carnage over, ”Anyone see any ectoplasm to collect?”

Going back to something Victor and Vreekka are aware of:

Except for Victor and Vreekka the group is surprised when a voice emanates from the polished stone surface of the desk, "Who are you and why have you come here?"

Perc Vreekka: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 (low-light)
Perc (Victor): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

For Victor AGAIN!:
You can tell the spirit is weaker now than when you first saw her.
