Vailis |
Also the elemental is good at climbing, thus Vailis is pretty sure Keera or the elemental will succeed at some moment.
Earth elemental Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Earth elemental Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Earth elemental Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Earth elemental Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
GM Chyro |
With Sele and Keera straggling, gliding and slipping across the wall, the earth elemental gets up to the nest.
Unfortunately.....it can't relay its finds.
A few gems, pendants, and gold pieces, and a masterwork
silver short sword.
Keera spots some cocooned bodies hidden near the altar.
A few look rough enough to be sailors/river pirates, two others look alive, upon inspection.
They are KO, but stable at 0 hp.
Wulfren |
Wulfren clears his fouled weapon, then moves closer to the ensnared people and tries to cut away the webbing around them, holding his sword in one hand and musket in the other.
Keera Airbornt |
Keera joins Wulfren, cutting webbings with her scimitar. Alacorta please, stay be my side and keep an eye to see if there more creatures wanting to attack us
GM Chyro |
*bzzz*
A lone mosquito wants to nibble on Keera's neck.
Fortunately Alacorta's vigilance prevents it.
GM Chyro |
Nope, it's all quiet in there.
Waking one of them up?
Vailis |
Vailis take the elemental findings as the others walk towards the altar. He casts detect magic on the objects, and holds the spell scanning through the whole room.
The half-elf tries to identify any magical object found.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
"So what about the sailors? Shall we heal them and help them move to the ship?" asks Vailis.
Can you channel positive energy, or not yet?
GM Chyro |
Summoned elementals, you'd need to speak their language to issue commands other than the auto-attack, are yours modified by something?
If you can communicate with the creature, you can direct it not to attack, to attack particular enemies, or to perform other actions.
Regardless, there is no magic enhancement on any item.
Sele the Thorn |
"I can use my Milani granted healing to treat them if needs be?"
GM Chyro |
That's a yes then?
As the two are freed from their cocoons and given some healing, their eyes open. Warily at first, but then the tension ebbs. One with an eye patch, introduces himself.
Cyclops: "Hello, i di'nno who yuu fur be, but yuu have mah thanks.
I thought we were done fur. Mah name is One-Eyed Farl.
Last i recall, ah was on an expedition fur my friend The Black Marquis, then all went to Besmara's locker."
The other man, an elderly Osirian, pats his chest as he coughs from the dust.
"I am Zukka Nephmet, thank you so very much, young ones.
The fate of being eaten alive is no way to die."
Keera Airbornt |
Yes. I can use the wand if Sele wants to keep his own healig
Hi One-Eye. I´m sure The Black Marquis will be glad to hear not all his men perished.
Hi Zukka. I´m glad to see a fellow osirian. Why are you here, so far from home. Keera looks really interested in talk with the old man, being both of the same part of the world.
GM Chyro |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Keera, Zukka Nephmet was connected to the original faction goal, where he was to be given the letter of forgiveness from the Ruby Prince.
Thus allowing him to return to his work at the royal court.
The two men are able to stand on their own feet again, but are still weakened from their ordeal.
Zukka Nephmet: "That....is an embarrassing personal matter.
An accident forced the Ruby Prince to exile me. Recently, a fellow osirian
came to me with a letter, wherein the Ruby Prince said he welcomes me back in court. I was invited to accompany one Lady Riverbane on an expedition. With the next boat still a few days away, i went along and fell, alongside mr one-eye here, into a trap."
One-Eyed Farl: "Riverbane, a Bane indeed, she be a treacherous 'rot-wijf'*. May Besmara have riversharks eat her. She was leading the expedition, 'nly fur aband'ning the crew to a horrible fate. The group was killed one at'a time. Pits, one got a nuuse 'round his neck and got janked int'a the trees. When we got near the clearing outside, we were beset upon by giant spider men. What that resulted in, you see fur yourselves."
b!tch.
Vailis |
"Are you ok now? Well, I think you can consider yourselves saved. There is a ship waiting for us all. Is there anymore of you whom we should look for?" the half-elf waits patiently for a response.
He also looks around "Where is the entrance to the Azlanti Vault?"
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
GM Chyro |
Btw, you'll have to refresh your shield by now.
Farl shakes his head.
"All others got drained of bodily liquids, a disturbing sight if ever i saw. Poor men dried up b'fore our eyes."
Zukka Nephmet: "That was a lie, there is no vault. It turns out, this was all a setup. I imagine to get rid of unwanted people."
GM Chyro |
Farl: "By whuum else than Riverbane?
She leaves us be, if there truly was a haul, she'd have stuck through."
*Somewhere, Riverbane's sneezing*
+ points if you know the reference.
GM Chyro |
I doubt this scenario will take much longer, unless it goes like the first act.
Sele the Thorn |
"I guess we should return and ask her some questions, like why she sent us to that spider infested place to die?"
Vailis |
"Count with me" says Vailis placing his crossbow over the shoulder.
Sele the Thorn |
Sele takes out the last restoration potion and drinks it.
Resto potion: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Keera Airbornt |
We´re with you, let´s go ask "Lady" Riverbane. It looks she´s trying to seize power and she don´t mind to kill us in the process
Sele the Thorn |
Well that seems like consensus so we help the two rescues and go back to the boat.
GM Chyro |
Yarr, ye be double-crossed here.
Vaisil, your shield will have worn off by the time you head outside.
Having freed the two men, you head back out.
When the you finally exit the loathsome shrine, it looks like the sun itself decided to celebrate the your victory over the evil denizens of the mound. But the sun didn’t come alone: Lady Riverbane and a group of her pirate flunkies also await your arrival.
"Well," says the jet-haired pirate woman, lips twisted in a grin. "Shiver me timbers! Look who made it out alive. I hoped
the crawling horrors would be the end of you, but I suppose vermin don’t eat each other."
Riverbane spits on the moss covered ground before continuing. "Why do Pathfinders always have to meddle in what doesn’t concern them?"
Pulling out an ancient-looking tome from a pouch, she throws it unceremoniously in the mud. "Fools! All this for a book …"
She erupts in laughter. "Bazzak dies tomorrow and you die today! KILL THEM!"

Vailis |
Yep, note I had already removed it from my stats since you told me :)
Traitor pirate >:[
Keera Airbornt |
I would like to know how are the pirates armed before deciding how to act. Send Alacorta alone against lot´s of pirates don´t looks good, but if they have ranged weapons waiting to be shoted isn´t better.
GM Chyro |
Certainly, ahem....
These are the standard version of river pirates, as per the decree of River Kingdoms, article 2.3, Section A4.
They come equipped with melee and ranged weapons, adaptable to many situations.
As for their officers, their weapons may vary.
Keera Airbornt |
Oh, it seems I forget the River Kingdom´s decree.
Let them come! Shouts Keera don´t wanting to run against so many opponents. Then she picks one of her scrolls and starts chanting until a mist cover her and her companions. Scroll of obscuring mist. The blue circle mark the limits. I suppose my companions had seen there´s no dangers between them and the pirates and can walk foward until they see something
Alacorta moves between the pirates and Keera, ready to attack the first enemy who approach them.
I hope this option is ok for everybody. Sele and Wulfren can go to the limits of the mist to fight, and Vailis and me can cast spells protected by the cover
GM Chyro |
Double-crossed, round 1.
Keera conjures up a curtain of mist & Alacorta 'takes point'.
Lady Riverbane: "Drive them out, send in arrows!"
Red squad moves forward and lets out arrows at the easiest targets they saw last.
Red, Alacorta: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20Sting: 1d6 ⇒ 6
LR, Wulfren: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21Sting: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Oh, the irony.
Arrows suddenly fly into the mist, very close near the party.
Save for Vaisil, who takes one for the team for 11.

Wulfren |
Wulfren moves out of the mist with his loaded musket, then takes a shot at one of the "red" pirates.

Only moving the mist circle when I try to move token. Should be 2 squares east and 1 square south of Sele.

Red squad moves forward and lets out arrows at the easiest targets they saw last.

Save for Vaisil, who takes one for the team for 11.
Sele comes forth from the mist, greatsword drawn.
Wulfren follows, his musket shooting a deadly bullet at DR, who drops into the ground.
----------
Lady Riverbane points a wand at Wulfren in return.
Arcane projectiles: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 = 6, striking him for 6.
Green squad shoot arrows at the men coming towards them.

The arrows are of poorer aim than their red brethren's arrows, but one catches Wulfren in the shoulder. They move south afterwards.
Vaisil's turn.
Vailis |
Unable to see his enemies Vailis summons augmented celestial eagles into the approximated place he last saw his enemies, with the hope some of them can find the party foes.
Number summoned: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Unsure how to handle where I land the spell in a fair way: 3d8 ⇒ (2, 8, 5) = 15
Three augmented celestial eagles appear at 30 feet from Vailis. They fly towards the enemies smiting them and trying to tear them down.
Blue Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
B/S/P damage (+1 if evil): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Violet Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
B/S/P damage (+1 if evil): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Yellow Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
B/S/P damage (+1 if evil): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Vailis then steps forward in the middle of the cloud, drawing his shield wand.
Please, as I have no full control of the summonings actions, feel free to relocate the places and interpret whom do they attack.
Again, as a summoner, it is a standard action for me, and they last 3 minutes
GM Chyro |
I remember, i have a summoner as well. ;)
Two eagles land their hit.

Thrown Chakram: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 241d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 LOL! Dramatic Chakram!
Thrown Chakram crit confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
GM Chyro |
Holy sh!t :D dude.....Ace!
Sele's chakram flies in an unnatural arc, hitting Lady Riverbane in the chest, despite her cronies in front of her. But she still stands.
"Arrr...kill that snake!"
Wulfren
Wulfren |
Wulfren takes a 5' step, reloads, then shoots at the northernmost pirate!
Attack v. normal AC, DA: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 1 = 23
Damage?: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
GM Chyro |
Muskets have 40 normal range, wouldn't you take increment penalties?
Not that it'd matter much with their AC.
Red goes down with a proper aim from Wulfren.
----------------------
Lady Riverbane takes a potion CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 6) + 3 = 15
She's healthy again, as if the chakram never hurt her.
Green squad:

Meanwhile the half-elf casts shield on himself using his wand, and then he moves forward until Wulfen's position, letting the wand to drop on the fogged area.
He shows his crossbow on the other hand, ready to shot "Riverbane, this does not necessarily has to end like this!"
