since the drop through the hole is 10', by chance is Alcorta able to hover 10' above the floor? Thus allowing a person to be directly under it without squeezing? I'm trying to get flanking, of course.
| GM Chyro |
Despite being a 10ft ladder, some medieval ships would be less than 10ft in cargo space height. Darn things would sometimes be less than 2m. I know, since i bumped my head when sight seeing >.>
If Alacorta squeezes through, with applied penalties, sure.

Spots will pounce throught the hole and dart to the opposite side of the gnoll. (draws AoO from gnoll) Getting into flanking position with Sele, and attacking.

So my initial misses are basically dramatic pauses, that allow the rest of the group to contribute but me to finish off the opponent

So it seems :), that's the second boss finisher in your career.

Psst, by the way, you guys aren't done yet. You've got a slave merchant to deal with still.

Under Alacorta's assault, Pildapush ends up staggered.

While he's scripted to fight till death, i disagree. ^^
Pildapush drops the dagger, as he is not much in condition to do anything anymore.
"..*huff*....what are you going to do now, huh?..*huff*"
Lynthara

"Well, that's hard to say. What do you chaps think?"
Lyn looks at her companions.
"Slavery's still legal in Absalom, though it pains me to say it. Not sure if the watch would do anything with him. Maybe lets turn gim over to the nobs whose kids he's been nicking."

Sele grabs Pildapush and ties his arms behind him.
"First lets free the Osiriani ambassadors wife and then the rest f the captives"
| GM Chyro |
After going over the captain's body, you find a key on a string around his neck. It unlocked the door on C. Inside, you find a woman in proper clothing.
After you get her out, she is most thankful.
"I owe you all a favor I can never repay, many thanks."
She looks sideways at the tied up slave merchant and slaps him across the face firmly.
Keera Airbornt
|
Mylady, I must disagree thats the correct behavior to the slaver who kidnap you. Its too soft for what he deserves. Says Keera just a moment before start searching the boat to see if there are more slaves.
| GM Chyro |
She looks at Keera; "No, you are absolutely correct. My husband would deal much more severely with him for it."
Keera had been too focused on the fighting, that only now she sees the 50 slaves that are chained on the benches. ^^
Searching the rest of the ship turns up only the captain's log, nothing related to the mission therein.
Eventually, when all is said and done, you head back to Venture-Captain Alissa Moldreserva, she eyes you up and down, "You handled that well. Guess I had you wrong. The lot of you may prove useful to the Society yet. Get yourselves a drink, on me."
Feel free to rp anything on closing this case.

Welcome to The Hydra's Fang Incident.
You arrive in Diobel via the overland route from Absalom to meet a contact in a pub known as “The Tails”; a dingy, brine-soaked shack covered with swordfih tails located in a rundown section of town called South Reach. There, bitter longshoreman coming of the graveyard shift pile in and slam rounds of a potent shark-fi liquor, cursing and complaining until they’re drunk enough to be carted home by noon. The
disparaged scene has few prying eyes—the ideal place for Pathfiders to pass along their covert whispers. You enter early in the day, when the small crowd of older men is at its most drunk and rowdy, the revelry within barely contained by the boarded-up windows. You stand out like sore thumbs among the ruddy-faced dockworkers, most of whom have more ginblossoms than teeth. The crowd immediately heckles you for being up-scalers and gold-thumbers, demanding you spend some of your coin to buy the bar a round, but quickly fall silent when moments later, a dark, cloaked fiure rises from the back of the bar. Then, eyes averted, everyone returns to their former conversations. Drawing back his cloak, your contact reveals himself—a man in his late forties with obvious Chelaxian features and a faint beard. He introduces himself only as Osprey, then invites you to sit before he fially tells you why the Society dragged you to Diobel:
"We’ve word that the accursed Chelaxian pirate Darsielle Du Moire has anchored his much sought ship, the Hydra’s Fang, in the harbor. Everyone’s looking for that bastard. He carries with him some ancient tablets of extreme historical value to our organization. Unknown to most, Wittlestone, the small Andoren town Du Moire razed to the ground, was also home to Myraxus Threeshadows, a noted but aging sage and umber mystic supposedly of ancient Azlanti decent. Among
Myraxus’s possessions he kept ancient forgeries of several tablets used in ancient rites during Old Azlant’s height. When Darsielle destroyed the village, he slew the wizard and took the tablets, hoping to pawn them to one of his buyers in Diobel. The tablets are a priceless archeological treasure, one greatly desired by the Pathfider Society. In fact, just prior to the Azlanti’s death, we placed several bids to purchase the tablets and so naturally were the fist to realize they’d gone missing. You must race to get Du Moire and recover the stolen tablets before his pursuers fid him or he flees port. If our sources are correct, we’ve learned that he owes a substantial amount of money to one of the Consortium’s more ambitious Enforcers, an importer named Lubor Staizkal. Likely he needs to settle with him at some point. Go to Lubor’s shop on Meldon Lane, near the docks, and see if you can pick up Du Moire’s trail from there, then do whatever you can to get those tablets. May the Gods speed you in this task."
Lynthara
|
Lyn frowns at the men in the bar, and swats away several hands that try to get too "frisky".
She listens with interest to Osprey's instructions.
"Well sir, that sounds manageable. Do you think this Lubor would respond better to a honeyed tongue, or a show of force?"
-Posted with Wayfinder
| GM Chyro |
"A show of force is ill advised, this place is an independant city.
Strangers starting fights in public places are either kicked out or worse. Some smooth talking would serve your chances much better."
Sele the Thorn
|
Sele appears
"Did someone say smooooothe talking?"
| GM Chyro |
^^
Osprey looks curiously at Sele.
"You speak as if you're versed in it, then?
If so, all the better. I must excuse myself to avoid us all rumors."
When you are all packed, you head off to the mentioned place.
Act 1; A sour deal in Diobel.
On your contact’s advice, you arrive at the shop of one of Du Moire’s supposed connections. A sign over the door reads "Lubor’s Imports." The door hangs slightly ajar. All is dark within, and eerily silent. As you peer inside, you witness the scene of a recent brawl. Furniture lies smashed and strewn about. Near a closed door at the back of the shop, two bodies slump upon the floor, their blood pooling slowly beneath them.
Map updated.
