GM Chyro |

Hate to break the awesome, but you need a straight line of at least 10ft for the run, sadly in your position there wasn't.
Boarding the No Return, round 1.
Spots delays
Kenji takes a run and jumps onto the ship.
Sailor 1 hews at Kenji Power attack: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 1 = 20Whack: 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6, he manages to hit the monk over the head for quite a sore spot.
But then, to the surprise of all, a hyenalike man, known to be a gnoll, appears. Gnolls are known to be savages, cruel and sadistic. This one snarls and shows his teeth.
Snarl Shoreshackle, Whipping time: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Kenji feels a strong lash around his leg as he's yanked prone, much to a sadistic hackling from the gnoll.

back up 1, forward 4? Sorry, don't have access to map at work.
If not... then...
Draylan almost makes it but comes up just short. As he slams into the side of the ship he makes a frantic attempt to grab the side an pull himself up.
climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
do I lose the attack, due to the need to climb? Or is that check considered part of the move action?

GM Chyro |

If you go back 1, then you have a run, but this is both a long and high jump, you'd need higher than 18 to jump the angle and pass Spots' square. Since sadly you can't end a movement inside an occupied allied square. You'd spend one move action jumping to and holding the ledge, then a second to climb up and move to where you want, but the sailors will get AoO if you do.
---
Alternatively, you could run around it. :)

![]() |

where is the fun in running around? I took a look a the map on my break. any reason why Draylan can't back up 1 and jump forward, putting him inbetween the enemies. Then have Spots move 2 right and jump across to flank with enemy up 3, right 1 from their current location? Seems like that would make everything work?
If you don't think this is feesable, then go ahead with the climb up take 2 AoO's from the emenies on both sides. It's all good either way!
And where are my hero/cool points for this? lol

Druid time
Keera asks Alacorta to go help Sele and Kenji with the sailor, then she casts prodece flame and moves to a better place for throwin the spell.
Alacorta bites: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Alacorta has moved less than half fly speed and remained flying, this will be and auto passed DC 10 check with +9 fly, next turn it will be a DC 15 to hover

GM Chyro |

STOP!..Druid Time....
As Keera moves east and conjures a flame within her hand, Alacorta harasses the sailor blocking the way, drawing blood.
The lady sailor moves around, heading for the monk who 'illegally boarded'.
Club vs prone, PA: 1d20 + 3 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 4 - 1 = 20 Whack: 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7
Kenji takes another hit.
Draylan takes a few feet distance before storming for the edge of the docks, hoping to jump and grab the ledge. His armor weighs more than he bargained for, as he come short in distance and drops in the water with a big *splash*.
30ft away there is a shallow part where you can get back on land, marked with a red line circle.
Spots makes a running jump, boarding, he attacks the rude sailor blocking the way by biting into his leg and tripping him.
Lynthara
Sele (posted actions)
Lynthara's up.
If anyone's got a rope, you can help Draylan out on the spot. The water is 6 feet below the docks. Someone dropping prone and extending an arm and making a strength check of DC 13 can pull him up. Otherwise he'll be swimming in chainmail.

![]() |

Sele seeing as he hasn't acted yet will get his rope out of his pack and throw it too Draylan.

GM Chyro |

I have a feeling Lynthara's KO for a while, nothing in discussion either. I'll bot her turn.
Lynthara moves towards the middle gangplank, the closest one being occupied. She boards with a double move.
Sele takes out a rope to throw to Draylan.
Swim check before you can grab it though.
This act provokes an attack from the prone sailor.

it doesn't say if elemental fist damage is multiplied on a crit, but I'm assuming not, so didn't roll for the extra d6

Spots |

Spots will move on to the next threat. As he has been trained by Draylan to set up flanking, Spots will run past the gnoll (draws AoO) and attack from the opposite side.
Draylan is a little preoccupied. Free flanking for anyone who wants it!

No, I started in the red dot. So, as the attack is not posible, Keera will double move (Form red dot, to white do, white dot and then going up

GM Chyro |

With the rope tossed out by Sele, Draylan manages to get out of the water, much to his relief.
I've placed you on the square south of where you were.
Meanwhile, Spots sprints forth to attack the hyena-thing.
AoO, axe to kitty: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Hurt: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Spots is cut across the flank, but he comes into position.
The thick boots of the gnoll prove too much for any decent hurt. Spots tries a vicious trip with the jaws, but the gnoll remains standing.
Lynthara shoots an arrow at the snarling gnoll, but it flies over his head.

All wet from his swim, Draylan shakes off the excess water, but realizes there is no time to dottle.
"I'm coming!"
well... if no one else is gonna take the flanking, I will.
Draylan scurries up the gangplank and gets into flanking position just in time to provide a diversion for Spots to bite the gnoll again.
"Now Spots! Attack!"

![]() |

"Well done Spots!"
Draylan brings down his greatsword on the prone gnoll.
greatsword: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 4 = 15 (-4 enemy AC for prone)
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 5) + 4 = 15

GM Chyro |

The flow of combat is shifting, as suddenly the party feels very capable.
Perhaps slaves are praying hard for a rescue?
After Alacorta scraped the gnoll, Spots now manages to off-balance the gnoll. "Redacted gnollish swearing"
With the gnoll prone, Draylan swings down his greatsword hard, but the gnoll is still alive. On top of it, Lynthara shoots an arrow.
...but due to being prone he gets a bonus on AC vs ranged :P, so no hit.
Sele finishes the round with a sap clobber over the nose, which makes the gnoll yelp and snarl at him.

to hit: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 + 4 = 12
dmg if hits: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
And even though the gnoll is on the ground and seemingly easy to hit, Kenji can't seem to connect... obviously he's thrown off by the graphic goriness of his last hit and unwilling to kill another being with such seeming ease.
can't think of another reason why he'd miss so badly twice, lol... this is the dice gods payback for 2 20's in a row I guess.

GM Chyro |

Not to burst your bubble, but prone is in general a very GOOD thing..for you :)
Boarding the No Return, round 5.

Keera don´t knows about not lethal, and Keera is armed with fire, so I will be hard to interrogate him
Alacorta continues in his efforts of tearing the hyena man, and Keera goes to help finishing the guy.

GM Chyro |

I'll need a marching order of going below deck, as well of course what side (stern or back) you'll be entering.

![]() |

Sele draws his greatsword..
"Shall I go first? and I think stern" not loudly.

![]() |

Yes please, I learned that lesson. If the ceiling is high eneogh Alacorta and I can close the march; he can fly to help where he´s neccesary and I can throw fire or darts
There area about 8 rounds left of Produce flame, if it expires
before why find problems, just let me know

GM Chyro |

Ok, time for the final fight. The ladder down is 10ft.
Flying is not so easy below deck, with much tighter quarters.
Have Alacorta make hover checks if you wish her to 'fly', otherwise she'll use land movement.
Act 5: Into the belly of the beast.
Chained the length of the ship, two to a bench, are 50 filth-encrusted oar slaves bleeding from lacerations and open sores and slumped in sleep or exhaustion. The benches form a five-foot-wide aisle down the center of the galley, constricting movement in all but three areas: a 10-foot diameter around the main mast, slightly fore of midship, and the extreme ends of the galley which hold rooms.
A snarling & growling, however, makes Sele turn his head around.
You see a gnoll...and Pildapush, in the far end. The gnoll looks more savage and cruel than the one you've fought on deck.
