Keera Airbornt |
Keera asks Alacorta to go to her side and defend her, and she moves toward the disabled guy, prepared to defend herself if needed.
scimitar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
You are overwhelmed and badly injured. Do you really want to continue the fighting?
GM Chyro |
As Keera and Alacorta close in, the guy stands huffing, his crossbow only poorly aimed at the closing duo.
"It doesn't matter, i am in no condition and die by either your hand or his."
Whatever puny number remains in the tower is doing..stuff.
Sele moves towards the door.
Asami follows Sele, but treads the treacherous grease in the process.
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 *slip...o_o'...falls flat*
She gets up. Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Successfully
Baru shoots at green, disabling the guy.
Lynthara shoots at Nessian but misses, it ends in the ceiling somewhere.
Keera & Alacorta close in on the disabled warhounder.
Kenji kicks down the dog.
Remaining opponent do stuff.

Sele the Thorn |
Sele moves to the top of the stairs but not off them into the room.
GM Chyro |
As Sele moves through the door, he is beset by 2 warhounders who were flanking the door. One of them looks alot like the one who escaped the cliff encounter earlier. "HUAAH!!"
Gauntlet purple, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18 Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Gauntlet pink, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 2 = 22 Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Readied shot yellow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 Dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Purple's fist only barely misses Sele, but pink manages an insignificant hit to Sele's jaw, causing only a slight bruise.
Determined to head up towards Nessian, the warhounders take another swing.
AoO purple, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6 Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
AoO pink, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 2 = 21 Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Purple misses, but pink manages another strike, yet again for minor effect only.
I Moved your piece Lynthara. If you had another in mind, let me know.
Nessian's stand, round 4.
Sele moves up the stairs, taking 4 swings, 1 connects for a mere 2.

Baru Brimmstone |
Baru moves up and clears another shot at green enemy.
longbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
"I should remember to drink my juice, more often!"
GM Chyro |
The man looks at Baru with a disgusted look, before the arrow hits him and he drops.
Asami |
Wow...did I miss something or what! Back and trying to catch up here.
"Hey, wait for me Sele! Don't you go up there just to fall asleep again!" Asami curses the greasy ground as she tries to follow Sele into the tower and up the stairs.
However, as she enters, she sees the mean looking folks scattered about. "Who are you all?" Deciding it doesn't matter since they're clearly the bad guys, the swashbuckler attempts to skewer the nearest one by the stairs.
Rapier: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Damage: 16 + 4 = 20
I mean, Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Crit Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Crickey! :) Double nat 20.
Nessian's stand, round 4.
Sele moves up the stairs, taking 4 swings, 2 connects for a mere 4.
Asami expertly jabs down pink.
It's pinky, it's pinky down the drain. +1 to whomever gets the reference.
Baru shoots down green.
Lynthara double moves towards the door.

Sele the Thorn |
So why didn't I stop when first attacked..? I did two moves I should have ended the first if I could see someone.. then i'd get to stop and get my standard action and if I hadn't seen him I would have stopped after the first attacks and not walked up to second guy to get another attack and then moved away to provoke aoo
GM Chyro |
A bit of weighing off here, actually. My reasoning was that, if holding after one move, you cut down 1 and there's still 2 left. They'd be getting those extra attacks in before your next round. Plus with the minor damage they inflicted, you're 1 good roll away from dealing with the boss and thus the scenario. It was either you or Asami who's facing off against Nessian at the stairs, since with this 2nd move you'd make it on your next turn, i chose that. Can you forgive me for envisioning the armored warrior unflinching and going to put the smack on the bbeg?
Kenji Nishida |
Kenji moves to the open door. Peeks in to see as much as he can to ready himself for the following round.
Keera Airbornt |
Seeing how Baru finish the thug, and hearing some combat inside the tower, Keera and Alacorta rushes in. Double move
Once inside, and seeing there´re two thugs more and one paladin less than expected, she instructs Alacorto toput between her and one of the thugs to protect her.
GM Chyro |
Yes Lynthara, that's what i was hinting at. ;)
With Nessian under the effect of Blur, 20% miss chance.
The tower's lower floor is getting crowded, with Keera and Alacorta rushing in as well.
Kenji is being a little more careful.
Sele hears footsteps and the sound of a metal chain and then, at the top of the stairs, stands Nessian. The blurred figure provokes him.
"You are ruining my careful planing! You won't get away with this!"
Flail: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Purple makes a swing at Keera, Gauntlet: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4, but a screeching from Alacorta proves enough a sudden distraction to have him miss.
Yellow 5ft steps closer to the woman who jabbed down his buddy and launches a gauntlet fist at Asami.
Gauntlet: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Huh, even , her riposte didn't quite work and she gets hit for 3.
Sele moves in and up the stairs, ignoring the 2 minor hits he takes.
Asami jabs down pink.
Baru shoots down green.
Lynthara comes closer
Keera & Alacorta enter the tower.
Kenji moves closer.

Kenji moves in trying to get into flank position to strike...
acrobatics to avoid aoo's while moving: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Then, when he's in position, he strikes.
to hit: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10
dmg if hits: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
But even with the advantage of flank, he cannot seem to land a blow... still hoping that giving flank to another might make a difference for them.
Baru Brimmstone |
I went ahead and moved you Kenji. I assume you're flanking yellow.
longbow: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 - 4 = 18 +2 mutagen, -4 shooting into melee
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
GM Chyro |
Quite a feat, if he's flanking yellow from a spiral stairs. As i'm sure you've noticed the stairs is cutting off from the lower room.
Anyway, Baru shoots yellow in the leg for 2 dmg.
"Ah gods, my knee!!"
Asami |
"Aha! Got yo...ouch!" In her eagerness to lunge into a counter, the swashbuckler walks right into a fist! "Don't you know it's not nice to hit a lady!? Stand still and let me teach you a lesson!"
SA Rapier attack.
Rapier: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
If yellow goes down, Asami heads up the stairs. Otherwise she moves up the stairs 5' and see what develops.
In looking at the map, it looks like she'll be third in line behind Sele and Kenji...
GM Chyro |
Technically, Asami'd get up the stairs 2nd ;)
Nessian's stand, round 5
Sele swings with the power of smite, only by a finger's lenght does Nessian manage to evade the attack, Sele can clearly see some sweatdrops on the man's temple.
Baru shoots yellow in the knee.
Asami jabs down yellow, making him pay for "hitting a lady"

Kenji moves up the stairs.

Sele the Thorn |
What I meant was 5 foot step to his side so that someone else can come up the stairs and help me
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Sele looks around to see if there are any more opponents or anything else of note
Bugger more suprises
GM Chyro |
Aha, well it's a 5ft stairs, and Nessian's alone up there. But, at least he's not Ledford.
Sele the Thorn |
Hark I hear a dead horse being beaten
GM Chyro |
Fine, hold your (dead) horse, i'll not mention Ledford again ^^. That leaves just Keera & Alacorta.
Keera Airbornt |
Alacorta and Keera attack the thug
bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Scimitar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
But in the crowded tower, they´re unable to score a hit.
GM Chyro |
Nessian's stand, round 5
Sele swings with the power of smite, only by a finger's lenght does Nessian manage to evade the attack, Sele can clearly see some sweatdrops on the man's temple.
Baru shoots yellow in the knee.
Asami jabs down yellow, making him pay for "hitting a lady"
Lynthara
Keera & Alacorta both attack the thug, but he manages to dodge, as if he's some guy named Neo.
Kenji moves up the stairs.
Nessian "Why is it so quiet, are my henchmen all dead?"
He swings his flail at Sele. Flail: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Smack: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Sele mply deflects the strike.
Warhounder: "Boss it's just me and they got the exit blocked off! :( "
Gauntlet: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Bump: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3, a poor swing at Keera.
Nessian's Stand, round 6.

Kenji Nishida |
I'm confused by the map
Kenji continues silently up the stairs...
stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Baru Brimmstone |
Baru walks inside the tower, and sees another enemy was just inside the doorway.
draws AoO
Baru mixes together some ingredients and flings the bomb at the enemy.
bomb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
GM Chyro |
Punch?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Bump: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The warhounder looks really sad, as he sees his demise flung at him.
"Mommy...."
Only Nessian is left.
Sele the Thorn |
Sele attacks again
Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 232d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 4) + 8 = 17
"Sele chop!"
GM Chyro |
Roll for the hit chance please. I could roll but if i miss you'll blame me for doing so. *smirk*
Asami |
I am confused as well. Despite the ordering, at this point I was assuming Asami is behind Sele and Kenji.
Asami continues her way up the stairs, trying to figure out what is holding the resident paladin up. Sure hope he's not down again...
Asami wants to be in the room. If she can acrobatics in, see roll below. If, after that, she gets a stab in, see below as well.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
That's some shifty, swashbuckley move, Asami! *pats self on back*
Stabbity Stab: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
GM Chyro |
As with Sele, roll for the hit chance. :)
You guys can move your own token remember? ;) In order it was Sele, Asami, Kenji, on the stairs.
Kenji Nishida |
Kenji tries the same maneuver as Asami to get into attack range...
acro: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
but I'm sure he's unable to make any headway up the stairs yet... sigh
GM Chyro |
It is the effect of Blur, that's on him. :)
GM Chyro |
Annnnnnnd, he SCORES!!!
With determination and a solid swing, Sele strikes past Nessian's guard and across the chest in a fancy diagonal way. Staggering back a few steps in disbelief, Nessian falls backwards onto the ground.
Guess who's the great-weapon wielding badass now.
Keera Airbornt |
I suppose we had to finish the last thug
Lets finnish the warhounder and end all this nonsense
Alacorta attacks the warhounder;
bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 131d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
And Keera tries to do it better
scimitar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GM Chyro |
Baru tossed a bomb at him, finishing him. But it's the effort that counts. ;)
GM Chyro |
As the fight had come to a conclusion, Yargos comes from his hiding behind the rock.
"Amazing, that went fast, less than a minute and Nessian and his thugs have been defeated. If you'd help me find the codebook, i can finally toss it into the ocean to abort the Silent Tide for good."
--------Cue search sequence and a trip to the nearest cliff.-------
*Ungraceful throw, followed by a small splash.*
You could be wrong, but it was as if a small glow briefly appeared as the book hit the water, alongside a small unnatural ripple in the water.
"Let's report this back to your Venture Captain."
Also cue sequence.
"Well, it seems this assignment was one of the most unusual and covert events in the last decade. A job well done. After running around, you deserve some rest, have a good day pathfinders.'
The Venture Captain nods in appreciation, before you make your way out.
Case closed, job well done ;)
Primary Condition: Obtain codebook. [V]
Secondary condition: Save all 4 men at the cliff and open at least 4 chest at Grandmaster Torch's challenge. [V]
Hiphip hooray to Kenji, opening 4 of them.
GM Chyro |
Okay, let's get the show started.
It's been a week or 2 since your last venture against Nessian and his plans for the Silent Tide invasion. You received a summons to Absalom's lodge again. Venture-Captain Alissa Moldreserva, a fiery red-headed woman
who climbed from the depths of Galtan revolution to become one of the Society’s finest (and most well-connected) venture-captains, stands in the great meeting hall of the Grand Lodge in Absalom. She stares down her hawkish nose and sighs.
"I ask for the best and they send me you. Lucky me. The Society’s best contact in Osirion, Grand Ambassador Dremdhet Salhar, informed me this morning that his lovely Chelish wife, the Lady Anilah Salhar, was kidnapped and sold into slavery. Normally, I wouldn’t care a bulette’s eyeball about who was or was not enslaved in Absalom, but Salhar is the Society’s best avenue for acquiring all of the necessary official paperwork to make our frequent delves into the tombs of Osirion cheap and legal. This is a relationship we want to preserve and since the
Ambassador made it clear that our status is in jeopardy, I’ve been instructed to send our best agents to find her and return her safely to Salhar."
She sighs.
"I guess you’ll do. Salhar hasn’t sat idle since his wife was taken—his own agents are prowling the streets and dug up one possible lead. An one-eyed Andoren, a grit junky named Fredrik, is known for
selling or helping to sell nobility into foreign markets that desire
house slaves. Being enormously illegal, this trade makes Fredrik a fair bit of coin that Salhar’s agents assure me all go straight into the pockets of the Second Chance, a grit den dockside in Puddles. That’s all I have to get you started. Go quickly. The fate of our Osirian exploits is in your hands."
Sele the Thorn |
"So goto the Second Chance grit den and find this one-eyed Andoran Fredrik and convince him to speak."
"Sounds easy enough... I wonder what the catch will be"
Sele looks around to see who his companions are for this run.
Keera Airbornt |
Keera nods at Sele to salute him.
The problem surely will be in the one who bought Anilah.
Wanting to have an slave is one thing, but a slave who was a former noble? You don´t want a slave, you want a problem. And people don´t look for problems without a reason
Sele the Thorn |
"Prestige or just the selfish want to look crueller or more impressive than your neighbours is why I'm guessing"
