Something like a modified Kingmaker?

Jake, you dming?

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

Hey guys, Sparrowshanks here!
After spending a while contemplating things, I have decided to relinquish this campaign. I feel really bad having to do so, but posting has been a bit squicky (Even on my side,) and navigating through all of the old campaign is somewhat confusing, with all of the DM's and such.
It's not anything to do with you all, so don't think that.
I am aware that you are all likely angry at me and I can't say that I blame you if you are. I know that in coming out and saying this, I will likely get a barrage of insults and scorn thrown at me, but I feel that it was right to post this and let you guys know what was going on. If everyone wants to [/throw_cabbage], you can do so now.
I apologize profusely to everyone for dropping this campaign, as it was not my intent to have to do so when I set out to help continue your campaign.
As compensation for dropping you all, I will send each of you free copies of all my 3PP material I produce once I get that started up, of course.
I wish you all the best in joining awesome games!

It's better that you tell us than to leave us hanging. :)
Perhaps you would like to run a campaign of your own? Start from scratch? The daytime/nighttime actions might not be perfect for PBP play.
If you would, you can count Satinder in :)

Bohd Stormcaller |

As a DM of another S&S campaign, I find that its best to do daytime/nighttime actions and day jobs all at once, and not worry about individual dialogue. Encounters can be ran as normal, but since we're meant to spend what, 21 days onboard the Wormwood, if we spend even a week per in-game day doing daytime/nighttime jobs, we're gonna be here a while.
And I have absolutely no hard feelings Cap'n - this campaign has proven to be hard to run in PbP format for sure.

Another campaign, you ask? I have a few ideas, such as a Wrath of the Righteous campaign where PCs play as angels and war, Diablo-series style, on the demons of the Worldwound. There would be quite a few angelic races to choose from, but all would be within playable power limits. No angel races from the MMs though. More like the old 3.5 Anger of Angels supplement, sans racial HDs and associated bonuses.

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

I would not be able to start up the campaign for another week or two, but would welcome such interesting players when I get one started. I am open to suggestions (Not the spell or spell-like ability,) on what campaign to implement. I may post a few ideas of mine tomorrow/later today (Depending on your time zone,).

Satinder Morne |

I'm most definitely interested in Wrath of The Righteous. Will you be following the AP?
I have an ungodly fear of the words 'homebrewn'. :-p

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

I will be following the AP if that's what people pick, but since the PCs will be part of an angelic council there will be a few story changes, mostly cosmetic ones that do not overly impact the story. Angels vs. Demons just seems so much more Mythic than squishy quasi-mortals vs. Demons, doesn't it?

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

Here are a few more ideas.
An exceedingly brutal campaign where PCs belong to an Adventurer's Guild, plumbing the depths of horrendously difficult dungeons and can accept bounties on 'Marks', which are insanely powerful monsters, often with deadly combinations of templates and class levels. This campaign would be for those who want an insane challenge and little 'downtime RPing'.
A campaign where players are essentially zany space invaders coming to Earth in the early 20th century to mutilate cows, abduct 'subjects', and conquer the planet through military force, strange forms of diplomacy, and outright mind control! And yes, there will be kingdom building and warfare rules! As a side note, this game will not be serious at all, with death being just a temporary, often comical, setback and a 'Destroy All Humans!' feel to it (If you have not play DAH!, then you have missed out on a hilarious game!). The game will be played with the Pathfinder ruleset, but with the Anachronistic Adventurer classes from Super Genius Games.
I would post more ideas, but Social Problems class beckons!

Satinder Morne |

So it would be Wrath of the Righteous, but we play as descendants from angels? Or half-angels?
I've never played in a complete AP before, only parts, so I'd like to know how it feels. If you feel you can DM it, I'm ready to play :)

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

Satinder, yes it would be the full WotR AP and nope, actual angels. No hybrids or descendants. I have a cool 3.5 book with appropriate races (Well, once Racial HD and other such things are removed,). The races are equivelant to about 20-24 points in a race build once they're stripped of racial HD and the associated bonuses. I will be including the races available in the recruitment thread once I get it posted. Also, I will have a few alternate, completely optional, options for players to choose from in regards to Mythic abilities.

Satinder Morne |

Well, then I'm sure to keep an eye out.
Shiver me timbers, be sure to let us know first :D

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

Don't worry, I'll give you all first dibs on it!
I'm posting from my phone due to the town our college's soccer team is visiting for a game has no decent Wi-Fi (My beautiful GF is on the team, hence why I traveled to the town,), so I'm not going to be able to give you the chunky intro, but basically, the races are as follows.
Cherubim, which are sphinx-like angelic guardians of both holy relics and important figures in service to good.
Dynamis, which are wingless humanoid angels whose charge is protecting pure souls and shepherding the slain to their final reward.
Grigori, angels whose mission is to bring knowledge of righteousness to mortals, but often end up falling in love with those same mortals, siring half-angelic abominations with bodies and souls equally twisted.
Hashmalim, angels charged with enforcing sacred laws with a cold but fair impartiality.
Kalkydrim, fiery angels able to shift between a multi-winged serpent form and a phoenix-like bird form whose mission is to spread light (Chariot of the Sun in mythology, but you get the idea,).
Malakim, winged warrior angels whose mission is the total destruction of all evil, in particular fiends.
Menumim, mortal servitor angels who work tirelessly to serve the cause of good, usually as a healer or similar support role.
Ophanim, messengers in the form of flaming wheels that deliver messages of encouragement to the kind-hearted and of judgement to the wicked.
Parasim, knight-like angels of chivalry fond of undertaking great quests and who form deep bonds with their mounts, becoming one creature in mind and action (Figuratively speaking, of course,).
Principalities, noble angels assigned as stewards of nations who endeavor to aid mortals in building just, moral societies and working to help protect such nations (Often behind the scenes, but not shying away from the battlefield,).
Seraphim, flaming serpents with six wings the color of dawn who are the embodiments of Heaven's love and the purity of faith who always seek another path when facing evil, preferring redemption as an alternative to judgement, but sadly acquiescing to destroying the wicked if they cannot do so.
All classes will be allowed, except for the Antipaladin, for obvious reasons. If you want to play a fallen angel seeking redemption, that MAY be an option, though you would have to make a strongly appealing backstory for me to consider.

Satinder Morne |

Interesting.
Are the racial abilities the same for them all? Do we receive a fly speed if we have wings, or does that require a feat?
Can't wait to make up my angel :D

Bohd Stormcaller |

Hmm you know, if we're going by Pathfinder lore (But modified), Angels have an important hierarchy that all follow - the Triad of Choirs. The third Choir, and the least of angels - the Devas, have only two wings, and are the most common and varied of the Angelic races - what I'd expect we'd be.
The second level are the Planetars, with four wings, and the third are the Solars, with six - Ragathiel is an Empyreal Lord with six, (or five now, since he lost one), for example.
Note that, even though there are only these three in the Beasiary I, there are a wide variety of Devas in other books, of varying power.
Obviously these are the 'pure' angels that we wouldn't be playing as - they're too powerful, so I understand the need for custom angelic races.
Currently, I don't know what I'd pick as far as the race goes - but I may just go for a Fallen Angel for kicks and a challenge, but we'll see.

Cap'n Jackson Sparrowshank Esq. |

Yes, the Triad of Choirs does arrange angels in terms of wing number. If everyone wants to keep this as a rule for immersion purposes, then wingless angels will have to use their first feat to take Willed Flight, which grants them the ability to manifest a set of translucent wings of energy that grant them a fly speed.
Bohd, Fallen Angels have their own class!
Maeleg, glad to see someone else on board, so to speak!
