Stepping back a step Artemus informs is group. This box seems to be a powerful super-magnet and is technological in nature. Only ferrous materials can be effected. Do not get any closer to it or it will "collect" any ferrous metal you have on your person.
Then turning to their guide Artemus puts away his metal in a meaningufl gesture and says sadly Slaagh, you and your people have been tricked. This is no god but. It is some technology likely from another world. And it seems to have enslaved your people by offering an easy life. You are not living as trogs should live. Instead you reside in these halls in some false life. I would see you free of this thing. If you gather your people we can lead you out.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
Good enough for something.
"I understand you have our intentions at heart, but it is not your place to mock our beliefs as we do not mock you for your lack of scales.", Slaagh glancing at Belcher, before continuing. "I will ignore what you said in good faith and that you are outsiders, but preaching such words to the others may not meet with such mercy."
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
@Thunderstealer: While in Saurian form, you get +2 to Charisma checks with the troglodytes :)
If Slaagh had eyebrows, he would raise one now. "The point is still the same; our faith is ours and and I must respectfully ask that you either make your sacrifice or leave."
Artemus Jarm |
No, Slaag, you still do not understand. Its only a machine. I cannot in good faith let you waste your entire lives worshiping something that does not even know you are worshiping it and does not care. At least go to your leaders and speak to them about the opportunity to be leave this meaningless life for something greater. I will wait here for your answer.

He moves back towards the warrens.

Returning to the warrens with Slaagh, the Pathfinders once again see a female troglodyte wearing a bone headdress finishes a strange, guttoral prayer with two escorts. Artemus, Faeros, and Belcher find their stomachs tightening by the intense odor from the trio.
Slaagh speaks to them in Draconic, before stepping back, glaring at the party.
"These outsiders wish to speak to you about the Godbox. Let them try to convince you, and then convince them that we are at peace with our station."[/b]
Party are go! I'll need Diplomacy and/or Intimidate checks; if your goal is to rile them up, then feel free to make it as terrible as possible... I may even through in some bonus 'penalties' if that is what you truly want to do.
Map updated; Artemus you are up in front since you have been doing the lion's share of talking and Slaagh figures you'd be the one to try and 'convince' their religious leader.
Artemus Jarm |
Playing is strait here.
First Artemus tists at Slaagh and tells him in Draconic. I am disappointed that you would be so condescending.
He continues Well its like this - we wanted to agree with you that this godbox was some deity worth worshiping, but its just a metallic construct and no deity at all. You are all wasting your time here in the worship of an object that as best I can tell does not even move. I strongly recommend, no, insist that you reconsider your position here. There is more to life than this meager existence.

Nilfyr, not being versed in the reptiles' language, says in Common, "You do not belong in this tower, playing at being civilized; you belong in caves and swamps, worshiping whatever gods your brethren do. That gruel you eat should not be your fare; you should be living off the land, hunting for your food. Leave this place; your presence here is unnatural."
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
Teeth are bared as the entire party easily fails to convert Savisk, the religious leader of the troglodytes whose faith has been passed down from untold generations.
Slaagh has to do some interpretation, which does nothing to calm Savisk down. She replies back in Draconic.
"You dare insult my people and our history?! Either leave your sacrifice or begone! You are otherwise not welcome here."
Savisk then steps back, the other two troglodyte escorts getting in front of her as she hisses another ultimatum.
"You have one minute to comply, outsiders."
You're at the tipping point. Just a little bit more...
Faeros89 |
Once he feels a little better, Faeros tries to take this discussion to the next level...
Let us just take the items your foolish tribe and silly box has STOLEN from humans and bring them back to town, where they can be reclaimed by their rightful owners' families.

THAT will do it! More later, but feel free if you want to help go from tipping point to overboard.

@Thunderstealer: I think that is one of the few times you can ever say that literally. Nonetheless, that made me smile :)
@Faeros: I understand you wanted to wait until the sickened effect wore off, but you didn't have time to wait to make your case. Sickened effect for those previously listed still apply.
Slaagh, the only one of the bunch who can understand the Common, grabs Faeros by the arm. He speaks in Common first, but repeats it in Draconic for Savisk, whose eyes glare out in anger. "You will not steal the offerings to the Godbox! Leave now!"

Normally small elementals are +6 to hit and 1d6+4 damage. But Augment Summoning increases strength by 4 making it +8 to hit with 1d6+6 damage. Earth Mastery and flanking add +1 to hit and damage and +2 to hit respectively. Power Attack is -1 for +2 damage.

Earth Glide (Ex)
A burrowing earth elemental can pass through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. If protected against fire damage, it can even glide through lava. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other sign of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.
Earth Mastery (Ex)
An earth elemental gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both it and its foe are touching the ground. If an opponent is airborne or waterborne, the elemental takes a –4 penalty on attack and damage rolls. These modifiers apply to bull rush and overrun maneuvers, whether the elemental is initiating or resisting these kinds of attacks. (These modifiers are not included in the statistics block.)
Faeros89 |
Am I mistaken that sickened shouldn't have affected my AC and I was therefore missed?
The character takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
Regardless, Faeros steps back before firing twice at his attacker.

Sorry but you misread my post. The elemental attacked the trog between it and the druid. He hoped to drop it so that the druid could move in and attack the caster.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
Ahh, you are correct, Artemus! My fault for rushing.
Thunderstealer: you have a choice; you can either unload all of those attacks at the caster, in which case I'll need 3 rolls against the mirror images. Or you can use two attacks at Magenta, then 5' step and make a single attack at the caster with a single mirror image roll. She has 6 images up, so it'll be 1d7, scaling down if multiple attacks miss.
