Looks like fun.
Also looks like recruitment is wrapping so I'll avoid adding my hat to this particular ring. Best of luck.
EDIT: Me, stalk a player/Internet friend to potentially swoop down and sup on their liver when they are not looking?
No, no I would never commit such a delicio.. I mean deplorable act. I am also certainly not a Vrock demon.

-I believe you need to pick your additional campaign trait
-Not certain how much crafting time you'll get, just making sure you realize that
-I might suggest a quick line on the plague talking about how it's now a quick-acting illness, giving you reasonable freedom to pursue the AP's quests.
-A connection to someone in Sandpoint would be good, as would ending up in Magnimar. Possibilities include Hemlock the gruff sheriff, Ameiko the ex-Pathfinder, Zantus the priest.
-Nice hooks.
Ibriham
-Interesting interweaving with Sandpoint. Might I suggest you've left the town and have been in Sandpoint since just before the other PCs showed up? Removes issues with 'why didn't you help out until now', and gives us plenty of reason why someone might suggest they look you up when they get to Magnimar.

-Campaign trait, I thought big game hunter was Rise of the Rune Lords, but apparently in the anniversary edition it was split into giant hunter and monster hunter. Changed it to monster hunter. Your comment made me realise I should have 3 traits. Added armor expert.
-Crafting is a big hook for the character herself, but as the player I'm not desperate to make things. If we have a few hours here, a few hours there, she'd fill those with crafting random stuff, but I don't expect to be settling down for a month of 'making things'. APs rarely run on the downtime schedule (outside of kingmaker) and I'm fine with that.
-The plague is 'gone' but the lower bowels of the mountain are warded away. In the event you wanted to use the hook (much later) you could say it returned, or the wards broke, or w/e. Could also safely ignore it. I tried to leave it very ambiguous.
-I had her heading west, so she'll end up in magnimar. As for connection to the locals, she could have met Ameiko or Hemlock when she was doing work for the shoanti, let's just say she met both and was friendly with ameiko and neutral with hemlock.
-Thanks!

So my character concept is a Paladin that has a celestial Eidolon buddy. They're both archers. But alignment restrictions of Unchained Summoner and Paladin means that LG and Azata doesn't work. Could I get a GM exception on alignment for either the Paladin (NG) or the Eidolon (within 2 steps instead of within one?). I could probably make it work with a different divine class, but the theme is not the same and it would be more MAD crunchwise.

I'm happy to welcome Kejal to the game, and apologetic to reject everyone else. It was a hard choice.
If we have any more dropouts, or if we decide to increase the size of the party, you'll all be the first to be considered.
Kejal, please report to Discussion and start getting chatty with the other PCs.

GM Arkwright |

Our last recruit has gone silent and isn't responding to PMs so I'm recruiting a replacement. Do know that while there's a 90% chance they're gone forever, there's a 10% chance they were just in a horrible car accident and will continue in the game, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for that 10%.
So; long-running Rise of the Runelords game has just finished Book 2. Current party is-
Spectrum, TN Male Elf Wizard/Alchemist, master of explosions and dragons.
Sir Wyam Marshal, LG Male Human Paladin/Cavalier, valorous on the streets, courtly 'tween the sheets.
Isme, CN Female Noble Raven Bard/Witch, lady of spirits and traps.
30 Point Buy
2 Traits and 1 Campaign Trait
Max HD for first level, average rounded-up thereafter
Core + Aasimar/Tiefling for races
Non-Evil alignments
All Paizo permitted
One extra skill point per level to be devoted to a skill chosen for RP/Backstory purposes
Discuss with me about Leadership
Average WBL
Book 3 takes place beneath the mountains of Varisia.

Indeed. Indeed.
So I have an idea for an Archivist Bard mixed with a bit of Investigator (I had intended on alchemist but then I'd me stomping around on your current alchemist's toes with bombs n such). So I'll focus almost entirely on support.
The character concept itself is of a machinist who excels at making things and knowing things. My own spin on the Artificer class in Pathfinder. Science and magic and all that.
Let me know if any of that doesn't sit well with you.
Edit: I see you allow Aasimar, but will you allow the Peri-Blooded variant to help with my slight MAD problem? :P

Scaffold Kane |

Actually, I'll just make it into a new post. I just realized that a little of what I'm doing isn't flying RAW since "Naturalist" is slightly different than "Inspire Courage". So in addition to the previous question...
Would you allow anything that affects Inspire Courage (Like the Banner of Ancient Kings) to also affect Naturalist? It's okay if not, I was just hoping to be an archivist for flavor.

Scaffold Kane |

I saw that. And versatility is what makes bards great but you certainly have a point concerning party balance nonetheless.
I'm beginning to think, though, that I may fill a better role if I went all out offense. I have an old character concept I'd be fine dusting off but there's only one caveat.
It requires my character to have been lawful and slowly slip into chaos. I know it sounds kinda cheesy but let me post a bit of backstory and let me know how you feel about an alignment change.
Twenty years ago, it had to be. I was young, almost too young to remember. It’s interesting how time not only fades your memories, but warps them too. I know that I could only feasibly remember the tears blurring my vision as I did everything I could to keep my sobbing silent, I know that’s all I could have done. For some reason my memories seem almost omnipresent, like I know more about everything that happened than I could have witnessed. Perhaps it’s my blind rage preventing me from admitting that I know nothing and that I was useless and filling that hole with ‘might have beens’. I can’t be sure, but what I can be sure of is that I f!@&ing hate witches.
I was no older than three when the monastery took me in. They were kind and generous to a suffering orphan. They kept what happened a secret for a long time, but I grew tough. I became a monk and learned their ways, but curiosity burned at my bones. I know now why they didn’t want to tell me. They knew the curiosity would grow into fear and fear into hatred.
“You’re a good girl.” They’d say. “You can do anything you want with your life.”
"I want to find my mommy and daddy!" I would reply. I daydreamed about them. My father was tall and handsome with dark hair and tanned skin, my mother had fair skin and pitch black hair. They were kind, they loved to play with me, and they always had something witty to say (because I never do). They were farmers, but I always imagined we did well for ourselves. I would pretend some of the other children in the monastery were my younger siblings and that my parents had just sent us outside to play until they had dinner prepared for us.
Bastards, who were they to keep me from what was rightfully mine to know? Maybe I was too naïve to tell back then, but they knew I wasn’t cut out for the monk livelihood. I know they knew it and that’s why they wouldn’t tell me. I wasn’t interested in their schooling, I wanted the training. I wanted to be a strong warrior like Ayumusensai and little else mattered to me. That is, until they thought they had rid me of my chaotic nature enough to trust me with what I wanted to know. I was a teenager, those a@@#!&&s. I was practically an adult.
“Your parents… They were killed by a witch. They didn’t abandon you.” Ayumu told me softly. “We found their bodies shortly before we found you under your bed. We didn’t want to sever your hope after such a traumatic experience.”
That makes perfect sense, let me believe they left me there for two days all alone instead. Lying sons-of-b@%%+es. My memory flooded back all at once and the pain stung me almost as much as it did back then. My mother had told me to hide under the bed and all this time they let me think that they were just abandoning me? It’s like I could feel the flames that killed my parents. 'Altering one’s own consciousness is only difficult if you try to prevent it.' That’s what they taught me. They couldn’t stop my need for vengeance. That’s what they were afraid of and they thought they could train me well enough for me to discipline myself against it. They were wrong, I’m not narrow-minded like they are, no. I’m proud and I’m strong. I wasn’t about to sit around and pray for good things in the world, I was going to go out there and do good things. I was going to go find that evil son of a b$#*& and kill her myself.
It’s interesting what such hate can do to an otherwise good person. It creates irrational thoughts and unnecessary superstitious beliefs. No matter how much you tell yourself that what you’re thinking is crazy, the rage surges through your veins. That’s something those monks never understood. Don’t fear your rage, harness it. If you give yourself just one thing to care about and to think about, it rules your life. Why does that have to be a bad thing?
I ran away from that place in search of that witch and I plan to kill every evil soul on my path there. I will train with armor and weapons and I will learn to use my anger and my lust for vengeance to become a righteous destroyer of the wicked more capable than the disciplined nut-jobs and their codes and statutes. I fight for freedom, I fight for justice, and fight regardless.
And to any evil-doers I might encounter, remember this; the only difference between me and a paladin is that I don’t have a silly code holding me back from killing every last one of you.

GM Arkwright |

It seems to require an alignment change in your backstory, not in gameplay, which isn't really a problem.
With my backstories I do tend to prefer them to be written in the third person, and to be grounded in the setting, referencing existing places and people. Yours doesn't have much of that. Consider adding a short, broad summary in the third person.
Also, what class build are you going for?

![]() |

I'm thinking something as serious as the possible return of Runelords to Golarion requires serious attention from Milani. This would put her tyranny threat detector into the red zone and demand Milani's very own Jayne Bond take the case.
There are a couple of ways I could see a great character for this: Inquisitor of Milani/Eldritch Archer Magus is a possibility. If you want more oomph in the area of divine casting and/or melee prowess Cleric/Lore Warden Fighter could stand in for either of the first classes in the Inquisitor/Archer combo.
Or if you want more snarly wildness, an Urban (Arcane) Bloodrager/(Ancestor) Oracle worshipper of Milani who swears she's a reincarnated Milanite priest who was martyred.
Any of these sound good? Since it'll be a job building a 7th level gestalt character I figured I'd ask beforehand to see if the idea in general, or the possible combinations strike a chord.

Scaffold Kane |

Right, I didn't just write that. It's crazy old and written for an unspecified setting. I'd have to freshen it up for sure.
And that's sort of the issue. My character would have began play as a monk (the old school Master of Many Styles), then went fighter, then barbarian. If it's an issue, though, I could probably adjust the original build to avoid the alignment restrictions. The character had just been made to actually roleplay falling from law to chaos. Obviously starting at level 7 bypasses that. Nonetheless, that's my character's backstory.

Ouachitonian |

Ok, I'm thinking a Tiefling Unchained Rogue(Phantom Thief)/Magus(Mindblade). They're two classes I've been wanting to try out but haven't had the chance. Should sync up well together, a Dex-based Magus would appreciate the free weapon finesse and absolutely adore free Dex to damage, the INT-base of psychic spells boosts the Rogue's skill points...yeah, I like this idea.
It does look like y'all could really use more healing, though. Would being a healer be advantageous to being selected?

Marshal, Wyam |

Between Paladin and Bard off healing we're okay but a dedicated healer would be great so that we could keep pushing forward. Another front liner would also be great!
We've got the complete Spectrum of Arcane magic (he he), Short to mid ranged support is covered by our alchemist/Wizard hybrid, and we've got a witch on debuff duty. We can kind of fake getting by traps the hard way, so a Rogue or a Slayer wouldn't be a bad way to go. We've got Knowledge checks down hard. The Paladin and Bard cover Diplomacy pretty well together.
The next section seems to take place in the mountains and we don't really have anyone who's really good at Survival, as a Cavalier I'm passable but it's not really my thing. So a Druid, Ranger, or Hunter might be a decent way to go. I'd prefer a Ranger though. On that note, we don't really do the long range thing too well. Someone who's a solid archer would be great to have too.

Reynard Freeman |

This is Ouachitonian's submission, Reynard Freeman. Once a slave in Cheliax, now a...well, he's a bit shady about what he does when he isn't working as a mercenary, but anti-Cheliax/Asmodeus crimes seem to follow him like the plague, for some reason he couldn't possibly explain. But he came to Sandpoint to see the Cathedral, and stuck around for the interesting people. Also, never play Trivial Pursuit with him, he knows all the things.
I'm serious, he has literally everything as a class skill, and at 14 skill points/level, he's trained them all (though only a point in some). He is also a potent TWFer even without his spells, but with them he can be downright frightening. But I haven't completely figured out this Psychic stuff, so if anyone wants to suggest some good ones to take with Psychic Access, I'm all ears.
As for appearance, he looks remarkably human, which is nice when you're trying not to be noticed and/or remembered. His skin's a little pinkish, but he can pass that off as a sunburn. The faint whiffs of blood and smoke given off by his sweat and breath, respectively, can be covered with other smells, usually. His orange eyes are a little harder to explain, but by themselves aren't a giveaway. Has black hair and a stubble. Just a hair over average height for a tiefling, but noticeably thin for his height. He's definitely not muscular.
Full fluff, and crunch for himself and his familiar, are in the alias.

trawets71 |

I'll throw my hat in here again with Ibriham Al Ramba though it looks like I'll need to bring him down a few levels. Don't remember why I had him so high, but the backstory is still intact from before.
