Unless anyone wants any of this, I'll take:
acid (2), alchemist’s fire (2), black adder venom (2 doses), bloodroot (2 doses), liquid ice (2), oil of taggit, tanglefoot bag, thunderstones (2), antitoxin (2)
Does anyone want:
locket containing a lock of hair
Sell masterwork studded leather, masterwork cold iron falchion, dagger, light crossbow with 10 bolts, formula alembic, alchemy crafting kit(I already have one)
Sometime this week I might have time to comb through the rest of the loot to see what to sell/keep, I just have a busy week ahead of me this week (before a good amount of time off).

I am so angry right now cause I swear to Torag that there is a spell or ability to know who a person is with like hair, blood, or something. But I just can't find it to save my life >.<.
I can't think of any way to do it with our group make up I am like pretty certain at the moment.
The two lowest I can think of to try and find the owner is beast shape 1 and bloodhound. (Which is Wiz 3, Inquisitor/Ranger 2 respectively) I may just have to find a scroll of one of those spells or have to rely on an NPC's dog.
Also, taking the locket with hair. and the head of the orc that had that shit.

DM Jubal, I'm thinking of buying a MW buckler with some of our money (if people don't mind). I know that if I wield my spear I don't get the buckler's AC benefit that round and get a -1 to attacks.
What about if my spear is stowed but I want to fight with unarmed strikes? No penalty to attack or AC? And what about if I grapple, does that negate the AC bonus and impart the -1 attack penalty? Thanks!
DM Jubal |
@Arlan
Yes, if you wield your spear, you don't get the AC bonus and get a -1 to attack.
Since your unarmed strikes are from the Brawler using any body part, you could hold your spear in both hands, wear a buckler, and use your unarmed strikes without penalty and keeping your buckler +1 AC.
cheers

Posting is going to be a little slow with my crazy shifts lately and the holidays. Just a heads up.
That said, Nerak would like to use some coin to make scrolls. Unless their is a higher level wizard around, I think their is no hope of recovering the loss of his fireball scroll.
Beltzer |
With regards to the warhammer, if there is a big enough time between now and when the next 'book' starts could we take 20 on it? Say if there was a 20 day gap and using identify once per day and assisting once per day that should get it?
Wulfrum Boulderhead |
I'm not a 100% sure if I said my thoughts on loot but I'm pretty much good with any decision. Loot going to who would make best use of it tends to get a little unbalanced but if it's backed up by party treasury then it evens out easy enough.
DM Jubal |
Ok. How long you spend in town is somewhat dependent on yourselves. Eventually, Nerak will figure it out. The next book will start when we get there.
Agrit is a 5th level wizard so knows fireball and has scribe scroll. Eventually, she can scribe a 5th level scroll of fireball at cost for Nerak.
Cheers

Players
We're nearing the holiday season. We're in full role-play mode now. I've been waiting for a majority of active players (4) to post before moving the scene, but even that is challenging.
You've got the loot.
You've got a bit of time.
How do you want to handle the role-play and discussion about next steps?
cheers
Arlan Ward |
I'd like to go to Cham's Ramblehouse to check on my mom. I'd also like to maybe buy a MW buckler and a few potions or whatever. All of the other things I'd like to buy I'd rather hold off on until we get crafting feats (if anyone is planning on taking them).
I figure most of us will pitch in with clean up/rebuilding while Nerak researches the hammer.
Elize 'Lys' Brokenshield |
I think that we need to talk to Halgra after we're done looking for our families, and we can go to the Killin' Ground.
If we make it to the Ground in a couple of days, we can manage to get some roleplaying done during the holidays, regardless of how people's schedules are.
Alternatively, we can go to the Killin' Ground straight away after we've seen to the old folks, and Halgra can come and congratulate our dead drunk bodies.
Not telling you how to proceed, just presuming this is a reasonable plan. Personal RP for a couple of days, then Killin' Ground for seasonal intra-party RP due to the holidays.
DM Jubal |
Killin Ground needs game time to rebuild and open.
Halgra could start talking about next steps. Or she could just get your updates and thank you. Everyone has some grieving to do.
Let's do this. Go ahead and role-play as you want. We'll take the time of the holidays. The NPCs will interact with the PCs but won't provide any "new" information, you the players can write both sides of the conversation. For example, Beltzer can speak to Halgra and write for her too.
When you're ready to move on and discuss what next? Or what does it mean? Let me know.
So go ahead and take over the game. If you need some RP help, let me know too. Sound good?
Cheers

Want to clear a few things before I post anything RP. :)
Doing a quick and rough sweep this is what I found. Feel free to remind me what was taken by who. I stopped on page 10 and I doubt I got everything.

I'm about to get on a plane to HK so I'll post my story update in the game play thread when I get there.
Wulfrum Boulderhead |
Wulfrum, I think for the most part will be spending his time with hounds trying to find out who's hair this is and track them down so he can find out if they know anything about those who attacked. Up until they found the hair he was all about resting. Now he's just worried there is another potential threat in the village.
Nerak Sersver |
Remember it's a magical locket with unlimited range, on the same plane. The person may be back at the tribe base or even half way across the world at the moment. Nothing says they are here.
Beltzer |
Internet is a bit dodgy at the moment. I'll try to find a better place tomorrow. Continue without me if I'm the last to do the RP post. Otherwise I'll update as soon as I can.
Varin al'Thine |
So I am slightly confused and I am looking for a ruling / an opinion...
With my current build, special qualities and traits, am I able to wield the +1 Large Warhammer in one hand? I am thinking yes, but I am not 100%. DM?
EDIT: Just to mention that all three of my posts posted today are open to anyone joining in on them, if they so choose. We can just flash back to that time to see it right.
DM Jubal |
@DM
Do I need to make any rolls or can Nerak ID the following? The six scrolls, potion, and wand from Kagak.
@Nerak: potion of cure moderate wounds, scroll of cause fear, scroll of charm person, scroll of grease, scroll of remove fear, scrolls of summon monster I (2), wand of cure light wounds (24 charges)
@Varin The way I read the rules on your profile, Varin must wield the Large Warhammer with two-hands at a penalty of -1.
Normally wielding a Large Warhammer gives a penalty of -2 and takes two hands. That -2 penalty is reduced by -1 by Incredible Heft.
Giant Weapon Weilder provides no benefits, because a warhammer is not normally a two-handed weapon.
Am I missing anything?
cheers
DM Jubal |
Eventually, Nerak discovers that Agrimmosh is a major artifact.
Agrimmosh functions as a +2 impact warhammer that automatically resizes itself to match the size of its wielder. Once per day as a full-round action, the wielder of Agrimmosh can use the hammer to cast heightened enlarge person (Fortitude DC 23 negates). This effect lasts for 20 minutes. Whenever the wielder of Agrimmosh confirms a critical hit against a creature of the humanoid type, the target creature must succeed at a DC 23 Fortitude save or shrink by one size category, as by heightened reduce person. This effect lasts for 20 minutes.
Varin, you can decide what size warhammer you want to wield, but it has to stay a warhammer.
Varin al'Thine |
Okay, so as I can choose what size to wield, I can either wield it as a regular warhammer that does large damage, or a large warhammer that does huge damage, right, as it is impact? Can I choose with each use or just once? Because being able to switch, for the purposes of changing my approach to battle, that would be pretty cool!
Also, in terms of the Heightened Enlarged Person, if I become large, does Agrimmosh become Huge and do Gargantuan damage, if I am using it as a large Warhammer?
Varin al'Thine |
Haha Aww shucks, what a nice gift. Awesome, thanks Jubal. 4d6+14 seems like a pretty decent swing to me! Breaking DR10 by 8 points at level 4 seems legit.
Elize 'Lys' Brokenshield |
Woah! Lucky Varin! I loved the short stories, by the way, really nice. I'll post something soon, as soon as the holiday craze passes around here. Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow. Merry Christmas, guys!
Beltzer |
Merry Christmas to all.
Family stuff has really been taking it out of me so instead of making promises and collapsing before I find a cyber cafe I'll update on new years day as that's when my family leaves.
Feel free to bot me till then, sorry for this. Happy holidays.
Elize 'Lys' Brokenshield |
Hi all, hope you all had a great holiday, and happy 2016! I'm in the middle of writing the next part of what Lys did, but I'm leaving for a short roadtrip tomorrow, so I'll leave finishing it for after I've arrived and I've managed to squeeze a couple of hours.
For purchases, I'll just need to get crossbow bolts. Can't really figure out anything else at the moment, but I don't imagine we'll leave Trunau straight away (real-time wise), so I guess I can leave it.
Varin al'Thine |
And the award for the most disturbing story portraying the after effects of the night goes toooooo.... LYS!!! hands down. That was messed up and awesome and I salute you.
And the three tallest members of our little group, including the two front liners, have all run home to their Mommies, how sweet. If we survive those interactions gents, the Orcs are not to be feared.
Nerak sure has his hands full with a pile of pebbles and a pissed off Bison, I love it.
Everyone's stories are awesome so far guys, really loving it. Glad to get some decent RP opportunity with you all again. Looking forward to seeing Wulfs story now too.
Wulfrum Boulderhead |
I honestly feel like Wulfrum is done RP wise. He's boring, he's cranky and he doesn't get along with people so RP wise he's a mess to really try and show his concern towards the others in actual talking.
That said, I hope I did a good enough job with the RP post. It should have been better but this last month hasn't been that great depression wise which has heavily stymied my creative juices.
Arlan Ward |
I'm updated. I bought 205 gp worth of stuff. I just need to know how much I get from the party treasury to know how much of my own money I need to spend. Everything else is good.
Elize 'Lys' Brokenshield |
I'll take the Masterwork Studded Leather and the Thieves' Tools. I'll just keep it for now, but I'm not sure if 2 AC is worth losing 3 DR versus arrows, bolt and thrown daggers.
And the thieves' tools are for totally legitimate reasons. Totally.
Other than that, I'm done.
