Would a tiefling be 'too' monstrous for a conniving skilled type character in this AP? It certainly fits my personality. I will have ranks in disguise, but charisma is certainly not a high ability.
Seems like we should have a few that can pass as human enough to walk in normal society with all these goblins.

ElterAgo |

The fiendish facade feat will give another +5 to disguise in passing for human.
Still writing out history and background.
Grandfather Kydeem (when drunk/drugged enough) always insisted that the family used to be important with ties at the very top. Though that was before the Darians took over.
Now the family is reduced to being thankful for the jobs that no one else wants. Like Nebdel's job as a grave digger.
Nebdel found he could make a tidy and untraceable profit by digging up the old graves that no one visited any more. As long as the things he sold were not unique enough to attract attention and be identifiable, there was no real way to tell they were grave goods.
But he really started making money when he found a man calling himself Eslecan. He was willing to pay good money for the bones of important people.
Unfortunately, his customer wasn't as careful, he raised undead that were clearly recognized as deceased members of the high families.
When the idiot Eslecan was taken down the necromantic battle was big enough to give Nebdel warning enough to flee.
He spent nearly a year living on the streets in the slums waiting for things to die down. Unfortunately he didn't wait long enough before trying to get in touch with some of his old contacts.
He is expert going for investigator.
Skills and backup martial. Buffs and studied combat to bring up combat capabilities.

Gruingar de'Morcaine |

Gruingar was a fairly accomplished city guard. He contiued to survive in the most dangerous parts of the slums. Behavior improved just because he walked though an area. I liked to claim a riot would disperse just because they knew he was on the way.
After the 3rd time in a week that the guy he was supposed to arrest apparently decided to fight to the death rather than surrender...
Well Watch Captain Gralimont, called him into his office.
"The pissant what never leaves his desk and tries to pretend the rough burgs don't really esist, called me to the carpet!
Then he has the gall to lecture about how the job is supposed to be done. How we have to make the people feel safe and protected. Violence is a last resort. Yada, blah, whatever...
My beat was calm because thaat scum was afraid to piss me off!"
Eventually as the captain continued to scold, Gruingar snapped. He drove his truncheon into the captain's face with all his considerable might.
The captain lost sevearl teach and had a broken jaw and several cracked ribs. But the other officers beat down Gruingar before he could finish off the captain.
Crunch in the avatar. He's a hobgoblin because I figured we needed some meat with all these goblins. They're more Lawful than Half-Orcs. Also it just seemed kinda appropriate for a guard in the low town and rough areas. But if Hobgoblin doesn't work, he could just as easily be a half-orc or human.
He's a warrior that will switch to fighter and would eventually like to start a new order of Hellknights here in Talingarde. Then the dogs will seee how order is really kept.

Hmm, I thought they tended towards exotic skin colors that would be hard to hide. Didn't realize they came in more human skin tones as well. Tiefling approved.
Ok. Be up shortly.
If you want to allow the optional variant abilities, I will go ahead and roll it. If you decide you don't want them, it is easy to take off.

Gruingar, no. I'm sorry but a hobgoblin is not going to be accepted into this society like that. Bugbears and hobgoblins and goblins and the various monstrous races are at war with Talingarde. If you want to make him something else, fine. Or if you want a hobgoblin I can work with you, but a hobgoblin with that history just doesn't work here imo

I'll be submitting an alchemist, eventually to go into mad chemist prestige class.
1- background story.
Vinnick was born and raised in talingarde, out of the norm for elves, his parents worked as merchants. Vinnick at the age of 15, was given a magic tutor, and for 10 years he studied and trained but was never able to produce Even the simpliest of cantrips. Indeed, his father, such was his disappointment, all but have up on his son, calling him a disgrace and magically inept, for his father was himself, a fairly powerful wizard. That never sat well with vinnick, being pitied by his mother, and seen as weak and useless by his father, so he decided that he would make them respect him. He turned to alchemy for this. Magic, he never grapsed, but science, science and mixtures was something that came easy to Vinnick.
Vinnick was fascinated with, not only the poisons and their effects on organic matter, but with the aspect of being able to forcefully change his own biology.
Finally, one day, after a couple years of study, he created a concoction that he believed, could do just that. He went to the city, and after much pestering, was allowed a public presentation. Alas, when he drank his mixture, It worked as well as he had hoped, he grew in size, his muscles bulged, his fingers became claw like, and his teeth sharpened. The crowd gasped in both awe, and terror. However it also affected him, in another way. His mental thoughts seemed slower, as if moving through water, and he was hungry. He looked at the people in the crowd, and saw meals. He killed about 4 people that day with his bare hands, and had drank the blood of them. And upon the mixtures affects wearing off, instead of disgusted or horrified, Vinnick, was ecstatic. He had loved it, he had torn men apart with nothing but his hands, his mixture had proven more effective than he ever thought possible! The deaths were an unfortunate necessity, needed sacrifices on the road to progress and brighter days. But when he was found by the guard, they did not share those thoughts. He was tried for murder, and found guilty, indeed, he admitted the fact himself, even had relished in it while he had done it, the power had been so... thrilling.
Part 2 goals-
Vinnick feels that the people of Talingarde are being blinded by the royals, they can't see progress for what it is, and what it is worth. He will change this, and any that are to stupid, or that have fooled themselves into thinking it is wrong will be dealt with.
He seeks to perfect his science, to create a mixture so powerful, that he can become high unstoppable, and immortal. Immortality, after all, he can make so many advances in the world, for him to die would be, well, a tragedy, a loss the world cannot suffer.
Vinnick still hasn't gotten his father's respect yet... but he will.
3- secrets
Known to Vinnick, his father works for an underground organization that processes stolen goods and other black market materials.
Not known to Vinnick, the tutor that taught Vinnick was the one that had started him on his path, he had seen the potential of the lad, however, just who this tutor really was, no one is sure. Perhaps someone that will seek to make use of Vinnicks abilities... (Except the DM)
People Vinnick is tied to.
Tutor, vinnicks tutor is indeed, the one that gave the Lad alchemy books, and had even suggested practicing a tad less caution than the books called for.
Variel Varzel, Vinnicks father. A renowned merchant of Talingarde, as well as of the black markets. Sees his sun as a disgrace and a nuisance after being put under inspection for his sons crimes.
Alaria Rydell, a half elf woman that grew up with Vinnick. A year younger by birth, she had always had a crush on Vinnick and by the time they were in their twenties, it had blossomed to love. She admired his determination, drive, and his looks. She had joined the order and was training as a cleric, and when she heard of Vinnick's crime could not believe it. She had rushed to his cell, asking him for the truth, when he told her he had done it, and even enjoyed it, she was struck speechless, after a little more, she ran from the prison, as he called her back. However, even now, she still loves him, and a thought gnaws at her mind "what if he is right.."
Mannerisms and quirks-
Vinnick has developed a certain aspect of thinking about things one way and had a hard time trying to see things from others veiwpoints.
Vinnick has a tick, that when he is concentrating on something he has a habit of tapping his right foot, or drumming his fingers.
When he talks about things that interest him he seems full of life, but when forced to discuss matters he feels either pointless, beneath him, or useless he becomes irritable, frustrated, and often aloof.
Vinnick believes that every book and time is a well of knowledge until proven otherwise.
He views the moral Complications of life as roadblocks and nothing but obstacles in the way of progress.
Vinnick, while capable of lieing well often doesn't know when a lie is needed, or speaks bluntly before he really worries about it due to him thinking about something else.
Questionnaire:
1.How does your character interact with the others within a group?
A- fairly well, as long as they don't mock oor look down on his work, if they show interest he quickly Attempts to befriend tthem and then drown them in his ponderings.
2. What is your character's role in a group?
A- Depends, he can do everything decently, secondary front line melee, secondary ranged, secondary healing, secondary buffing. Leaning more towards "Hyde" ATM the though, but can go bomber if need be.
3. How is your character not as they seems? I want one or two skills that would surprise others if they found out he knows them. Also include personality traits, positive or negative, that would similarly surprise others.
A- I designed him to be mostly "as you see me " but a good assumption would be that his often driven, childlike, almost playful nature hide the fact that he doesnt mind killing a person, or even enjoys the thrill and rush of it.
4. What are your character's goals, conscious and, perhaps, subconscious?
Immortality, knowledge of all things, power, for his work to be accepted (subconcious)
5. How easily does your character love? Have they been in love?
He still has child like tendencies, but when he makes time for it, is quite the hopeless romantic. He loved Alaria. He has also sworn to himself to not enjoy the physical things with another unless he deems them worthy.
6. Is your character racist at all, either now or in their past?
Nope. He may make remarks, but those are centered around a curiosity of their reactions to his mixtures.
7. All people believe something that is not true, both about the world around them and about themselves. What lies/untruths does your character believe about themselves and the world around them?
He believes there is no good or evil, that morality is but a wall placed by those that wish to keep the status quo, he also beleives that his actions and research will make or break the world as a whole.
8. How is your character about material possessions?
Doesn't care really, but he knows that money makes things easier, especially experimenting and studying. He also knows how powerful money can be, and so rarely passes the chance up for some "easy" money
9. What does your character perceive their major problems to be?
His major problem that he sees in himself is that he is not smart enough, he thinks he needs to be smarter, and to know more things, and he fears he may never do it.
10. What does he perceive the solutions to those problems to be?
Study, experiment, travel, and experience.
11. What are your character's religious beliefs?
Non existent, he believes that, there is something greater for man after this life than merely "going to a deity"
12. What does your character fear?
Spiders, being ignorant, obtaining a fear of living, and, most of all, but perhaps subconsciously, being alone, with no one. Or being abandoned.
13. How much of a temper does your character have? What sorts of things set them off?
Not much, he can sometimes have a really long fuse, (unless under the effects of his mutagen) but mocking his work is a good way to get to him, that or question his intelligence.

The "wild" Babe |

I have to answer to a questionnaire now? Are you kiding me?
1.How does your character interact with the others within a group?
A- As long as you treat me with respect and don't call me names, i can be a pretty good girl. There still a limit to my patience. If you pass it, you will know why I was called the "wild" Babe.
2. What is your character's role in a group?
A- Rôle? 1 month ago, I was in prison! Not this one. I think I can be very scary to those who don't know me. and I like to fight. If i was a sort paladin, i would smite my enemy all the way, but I am not a paladin. Just a women with a dream.
3. How is your character not as they seems? I want one or two skills that would surprise others if they found out he knows them. Also include personality traits, positive or negative, that would similarly surprise others.
A- I am good with animal and a acceptable cook. And I very don't like to seduce or wearing those "evils" women clothes. I can be evil and don't act like a... you know.
4. What are your character's goals, conscious and, perhaps, subconscious?
Power, Empowerment, respect (subconsious :someone who could understand her and forever)
5. How easily does your character love? Have they been in love?
I like my foster family a little. They have raised me after all. Been in love? no.
6. Is your character racist at all, either now or in their past?
They are all racist to me! I sure if I find other orcs, They will see me as a human and treat me like one. All of the people I meet look at me like a piece of meat. Even other woman!
7. All people believe something that is not true, both about the world around them and about themselves. What lies/untruths does your character believe about themselves and the world around them?
I should I know? Maybe they are people who don't see me a follower of calistra, but that is just impossible. The only way to be treated with respect is to prove you have power over them. But there a still thinking it.
8. How is your character about material possessions?
I have been in prison. An orange is like a treasure for me.
9. What does your character perceive their major problems to be?
The problem is I am a women and a half-orc! And people devaluate me.
10. What does he perceive the solutions to those problems to be?
Kill those people! The other will learn from that.
Study, experiment, travel, and experience.
11. What are your character's religious beliefs?
I only know basic about Mitra. I have seen a lot of his priest. Their god give them power and they use it a little for the poor. Sadly, they are part of this system that I am fighting now. The director should have never tell me I was a savage. I know that someone called the fallen exist, but I think he is a bogeyman.
12. What does your character fear?
Being a victim, a whore or a savage. Don't have a control over my life.
13. How much of a temper does your character have? What sorts of things set them off?
To be treated like above and to see those things. Discrimination toward race and sex (All should be killed equally)

I was contemplating a Dhampir Blood Kineticist that I've had kicking around in my head for a while. My only issue is it would be rather un-optimized since he's generally designed to be taking Blood Drinker Dhampir feats (utilizing Unusual Origin from Bastards of Golarion for a bite attack). I'm not sure how many feats I'd blow on "Diverse Palate" to be able to chug NPC life essence.
Alternatively, I've got a pyromaniacal (fire kineticist) gnome whom does not believe the world has enough fire; and a Twilight Sage Arcanist with eyes toward Agent of the Grave prestige class (Lichdom here he comes!), kickin' around somewhere up here. *knocks on his own head*
Whichever you think would fit the game better.

It's a full on feat chain detailed here and there are others above and beyond this

That... is... Awesome....
How would you rule the Kineticist with them needing to work off constitution, and burn with its nonlethal damage stuff?

Artemis Moonstar |

Ah, forgot you're not familiar with the occult classes (according to an earlier post I believe, I generally just skimmed pages 2 and 3).
All of a kineticist's abilities utilize Constitution. For the DCs of their spell-like/supernatural abilities; the bonus damage of their kinetic blast; etc.
The Burn mechanic is essentially like a pool mechanic. A kineticist can accept 1 point of burn to do something cool, such as add an effect (infusion) to their kinetic blast, utilize a utility talent, etc. They may have an amount of burn up to 3 + con modifier, and each point of burn adds 1 point of nonlethal damage per kineticist level that cannot be healed by any other means than it naturally disappearing when the burn goes away after 8 hours of rest (similar to spell slots or arcane pool).
Specifically, from d20pfsrd.com:
Bolded parts, my emphasis on potential problems with losing con and becoming undead, lol.

Artemis Moonstar |

I believe constitution based abilities becomewisdomcharisma based. I'll check into that.
Thanks. I just really, really like the idea of a vampiric Blood Kineticist (that's 2 links, 1st is the archetype, 2nd is the base class). Refined, cultured, meanders around with a sword cane, rips your blood right out of your body, hurls the disobedient hirelings across the room by controlling the blood in their body, sips some fine wine, that kind of thing. All while wandering around in a white coat and being a 'doctor' (heal & craft alchemy), of course.
Soon as you get back to me on however you decide to rule it, I'll sit down and get into the mechanics of the character.

But if i do submit... half drow. Aiming for pain taster
His own father resented him for being what he was. Half drow monster. His "mother" decieved him and layed with him. When he was born he was simply dropped of at his door.
He was abused. Belittled. Always reminded how little he was worth.
One day he snapped. And he strangled his fatjer with the very whip he was beating him with. Later he was found still laughing next to the corpse of his so called father

Artemis Moonstar |

Actually, I need to pose the question since my fiance gave me a cool idea.
Would you allow an Aasimar in this campaign, and would you allow one to take the vampire feats to become a Vampire Aasimar?
Bolded part for my emphasis. It says nothing about Native Outsiders being exempt from becoming undead? I find the idea of an Aasimar in Talingarde, a LG nation whom venerates a LG deity, being an all around evil git, to be deliciously ironic.

Nope, they have chapters all over the place. Thet are especially welcome in places like Cheliax. Some are more LN than LE.
His comment was that they are real big on upholding the law even bad laws. We are going to be trying to overthrow the establishment.I thought they would still work since we are trying to restore an oppressive LE government.

Yep, He wants to restore the old Asmodean worshiping government. Oppressive with the population obeying out of fear of the guards (and hellknights).
If you don't think it works, the Hellknight PrC could just be a pipedream of his and he finds out later they won't have him.

Strongly considering throwing my proverbial hat into the ring... I've got plenty of ideas, but might need a day or two to narrow them down.
Edit: Actually, I think I know what I want to play - an updated version of an old character I didn't get to play for very long...
Exceedingly quick rundown would be Expert/Aristocrat going into Investigator (possibly with Mastermind or Psychic Detective archetype). Mainly a skill-monkey, with a special focus on social scenarios.
Think Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish as a young woman, and you'll have a good idea of where I'm going. Will have to wait until later tonight to start working on crunch et al.
