Ego Mortenson |

Ego, looks fine to me, but for non idiocy and survival's sake do add more spells for the correct stat
I added in a first level spell prepped. I will note that this spell list is set up with an eye towards breaking out of prison, since I assume I would have known about the situation when I was prepping my spells.
I didn't list out all of the spells known because I'm not sure how many I would have as a level 2 adept. The ones I'm using seemed like they would be the bread and butter of a magical con man type.

Ego Mortenson |

Sorry but keep in mind your scorpion is your spell book if you intend to witch it up. You've been stripped and you would have had no opportunity to commune after being arrested. So you'd only have the ones you WOULD have prepared on a given day.
Fair enough. Is the idea that you would have prepped these spells and just not discharged them throughout the trial/imprisonment?
I'll put the updates in my avatar's profile. The only differences so far is swapping out the Mage Armor for Sow Thoughts (the key to a successful career in sales) and a little bit more flavor added to the background.

Gobo Horde |

Already have a character concept in mind. It's a goblin who's biggest goal in life is to cause an explosion so massive in size and destruction that the gods themselves have to stop and stare.
Easily my favorite kind of goblin :)
I also have an idea for a goblin that I want to run with. He is a goblin who fancies himself as the Death Reaper, a MiniReaper, if you will :)When he does level, he will do so as a soulknife (psionic class) as asmodeus gives him the power to pull forth a black scythe from thin air >:)
Hey Deko, do you want to combine backstories a bit? I figure that 2 goblins winding up in prison at roughly the same time in a human city are probably connected...
What you what think?
Edit: thinking. Hmmm. If I do go this, can I take the Extra Blade Skill as my 3rd Lvl feat (2 lvls npc, 1st Lvl soulblade) despite not having unlocked the blade skills yet? I want to take the Emulate Melee Weapon (scythe) blade skill with it :)

Korak The Boisterous |

You are level 2 npc classes, no gestalt, nothing weird, and Gobo, no, just no. No psionics. For one, that I've seen there is no paizo support of them so it's 3pp or conversion and two, I hate them, they hurt my head. That said the rest is fine, and if a bunch of you wanna make goblins go for it, because there's a variant for an all Goblin campaign, and if you guys got the best story, well guess I'll use it.

Korak The Boisterous |

I don't have access to them Vahanian, are the up on pfsrd? If so I'll take a look. My first instinct however is actually a resounding yes, but I do need check them out. Archlich, I played, with a worshiper of Lamashtu, the concept of anybody worshiping her terrifies me in ways I can't vocalize. You are free to make the character and I will be impartial, but please know I'd rather keep her out of it.

Korak The Boisterous |

Antipaladins are rather messed up Gayel. they are a chaotic alignment designed to have to follow a code of conduct, to me, that is idiocy. They are lawful. So if you want an Antipaladin, do it. Those chosen will discuss what level of EVIL is appropriate for the campaign. One might be perfectly fine with slaughtering an orphanage and rolling around in their entrails as a divine rite, while others would refuse to play with someone who did that. So it will be discussed.

Storyteller Shadow |

True Professional accepted, Storyteller I now remember, you were the blacksmith that sold the military crap equipment correct?
You got it :-)
Working on my submission now. Will send links to the Class I am considering from Eberron. The Artificer seems like the perfect fit for a Craftsman.

The "wild" Babe |

First try of the background. Give me your evaluation.
All his life Babar shoveled s%%! in the stables. Raised in foster care (even in this "perfect" world, people abandon their children), he was the scapegoat of his brothers and adoptive sisters. Not with physical violence, that their parent would immediately stop it, but with the more insidious words. "You do not have enough control over you, your orc blood going all out break, you stink you or nothing will happen in your life. He soon used his appearance to be left alone ... and to make his chores by other. At school, Babar was always suspected of being guilty of something even when it was not him. To chase his frustrations, he began to refuge himself at a stable. He then worked there. He was good with horses.
Babar dreamed to be a Paladin and smite anyone who did him wrong. but they said he was too scary.
One day, he see someone hurting a horse. He had enough and tried to kill the rider. It seem he was from the royal family.
At trial, Babar swore he would return and he will kill them all.

Korak The Boisterous |

Alright looking at Babar I see nothing about him that would grant him a background that could serve as the backbone to form his assent into a power fighter, assuming you still mean to go antipaladin might I suggest a level of warrior instead. Maybe as he grew he became a bit of a thug prior to the murder and learned to fight through trial and error. As to the murder I suggest we move it away from the royal family, maybe a high ranking member of the clergy?

Storyteller Shadow |

My submission including crunch and background. My crime is Fraud.

Dexter is a large tall man standing at 6’6” tall weighing nearly 300 lbs. He has no hair on his head but facial hair on his face. His body is all muscle from long days in the smiths as a young man and an adult.
He is 28 years old.
Background:
Dexter is the seventh in a long line of smiths who dwell in the Kingdom of Talingarde. His family for as long as anyone can remember is from Matharyn. No matter the ruling family, smithing work, especially the forging of weapons, armor, and high quality goods have been sought after and the smiths who can perform such work, spared from the upheavals of the Nobility.
Dexter’s family by the time of his birth has gathered significant prestige and wealth. Dexter grew up though wanting to be something more than a smith. He spent long days in the forge helping his father as it was his duty, even as a young man.
Through many hours of discussions, Dexter convinced his father to allow him to attend University in Matharyn, his argument was that with the proper knowledge, he could begin to forge items of great power using the secrets of wizardry. Greed has long been a vice for the Quigley family and the coins amassed from such works filled his fathers’ head.
Dexter was sent to university to learn to become a wizard. While there Dexter learned a great deal about the mysteries of the arcane as well as the Divine, after all, the damn Mitrans constantly force religion upon the populace. The same force feeding of Religion was instituted into arcane mystery courses, going as far as to say that arcane power was the creation of the divine and therefore a mere offshoot of divine energies wielded by the Mitrans.
Dexter was able to make significant contacts in his time at University, what he was not able to do was display any arcane abilities whatsoever.
Despite understanding the theories and recognizing many arcane and divine spells on sight, he simply could not master the hand gestures and recite the proper articulation to make the effects happen for him.
Unable to complete the upper echelon training, Dexter was sent away from the University to a furious father who did not want to hear about his son being a failure, especially after laying out so much coin on the scheme. The family business was handed to his younger brother, Ruthven and Dexter had to make his own way in the world.
Fortunately for Dexter, the contacts he made proved to be most valuable. Many Noble fops failed the tests as well and landed places in the military hierarchy of the Kingdom. It was there that Dexter saw an opportunity to strike back at his father. He began competing for business his father had held for a long time, after all, Dex was a better craftsman than his brother.
Once his reputation as intact he developed a scheme to make money the likes of which his family had never seen and he probably would not have made as a wizard staring at dusty tomes anyway.
Dex began purchasing weapons from dealers who created poor quality goods either off island or from other cities. Dex would fill in their maker’s mark, impress his own, and place a sheen finish on the weapons so they appeared to be of masterwork craftsmen make and quality.
For four years, Dex made enough money to practically buy into the Nobility. His own father begged him to come back and take over the Quigley family business again. Before Dex could come back and gloat in his father’s face, disaster struck. A group of Knights exploring the Savage North entered into a fierce combat and many perished as Dex’s poor quality goods failed to stand up to the tests that practice combat would never require.
The maker’s mark of DQ was traced with ease back to his smithy. His wealth was gone, his prestige gone. The scandal, too much for his father caused him to have a massive heart attack and die once Dex was charged.
Ruthven the new Patriarch of the family disowned Dex. Dex was found guilty of his crimes with barely a trial and sent on his way to of all places the notorious Branderscar Prison. In a short time, Dexter has become quite the bitter man. I will seek retribution against the Kingdom should I ever get out of here. Everyone does it, why should I go to jail for it! This is not fair!
But Dexter will likely never see the outside of hard labor ever again…
Let me know what you think.

Storyteller Shadow |

Okay, Artificer approved for play, but uh, what's with the 10 skills + bluff thing?
The Expert NPC Class gets to choose any 10 Skills as Class Skills! See Pathfinder Roleplaying Game page 450. I was shocked too but as I was creating the character it fit pretty well with the Back story. Bluff Dex gets as a Class skill due to the Fraud Background/Crime/Trait.

Gobo Horde |

Alright, no psionics :)
Next thought, something casty. Thinking sorcerer or summoner, cha penalty be damned. Something chaotic for sorcerer, or the summoner summoning a very primal, feral goblin aspect.Maybe I should go for a wizard, he loves books, gets cast out of his tribe, sneaks into the Great Library, gets caught and then some sort of altercation and boom! In jail. Maybe he loves the chaos that is language :)
Will think more on it :)

Korak The Boisterous |

Path of war is 3pp remember, check with me? That said it's on there so I'll take a look.
EDIT: Some parts of it I don't like, but aren't gamebreaking, I don't like that they can have monastic training that gives them all monk weapons as usable when even monks don't get that. I'll continue to think on it. In the meantime I need write up of the Vigilante Archetype.

The Archlich |

Thanks, Korak. At the moment, I'm having fun particularly with my background and the whole prospect ;)
I like the Stalker class from Path of War, but not all of its mechanics; this new archetype makes it a little more enjoyable. Please feel free to give me your feedback and, if desired, Bleepos can very easily end up being simply an Unchained Rogue as I originally thought he'd be :)

Ego Mortenson |

I'm as anti-gratuitous grimderp as the next guy, but I did assume there was a certain minimum baseline of evil that would be ok. How restrictive could those negotiated limits turn out to be?
My whole character concept is about aspiring to be Hannibal Lecter, here. Even deriving a mechanical advantage from cooking people...

Browman |

We are evil characters, some amount of murder and other crimes will happen. We probably don't need to get to graphic with exactly what we do however, simply saying we pillage a town and kill any survivors we find instead of going into exactly what we do while pillaging and how exactly how we kill the people.
Also I have most of the mechanics done for warrior going into ranger, still thinking about background.

Korak The Boisterous |

Being not as familiar with him as I should be. There is a certain baseline for it, it is evil, but some people have limits like children, rape, torture. I want to be aware, and if we can't find something people are happy with, for instance if one person is the only one keeping the party from being cannibals, they'll have to agree to deal with it, or I'll call up an understudy.

That makes sense. I'm totally on board with Browman about not wanting to go into torture porn or anything. Just wanted to make sure we weren't going to back our way into a LN party after putting all this effort into criminal backgrounds.

I can go in any direction PG or hardcore EEE evil. The group consensus works fine for me. Plus my character concept is more that of a greedy merchant so any killing I would do would be to fit in not to create shock and awe.

KoKyu |

Checking in. Although I'm happy with the crunch, I have been trying to add Thiriston's background. Unfortunately, Paizo has eaten it three times :( Its getting late (I do shift work) but I will try to have a completed submission tomorrow.
In the meantime, I do have one more question. I'm not sure if this was covered earlier so forgive me if it has, but how will player vs. player killings be handled?

Gobo Horde |

So I have been reading the familiar archetypes and I got to say, I really like the sage/figment familiar. The idea of a little flying terror that's all in my head, and who knows more then me, makes me giggle a bit.
So I will be going a goblin adept into a wizard with a flapping imaginary terror.
I don't yet know what arcane school he will be, but fluff wise he has a strong love of books, scrolls and knowledge.
Maybe fire/evocation as he struggles to keep the 2 things he loves most, fire and paper, from mixing?
Question on his spellbook. Since I start with nothing, and that means no spellbook, and no starting spells, how would I go about acquiring one? Will there be one laying around somewhere? Maybe I create one, and it "belongs" to one of the guards?
Here's an idea. How about I start with my familiar (because its a figment) instead of a spellbook? It would be fun to have my tormentor come back to haunt me in my cell :)
basically I get the familiar pre-wizard, but I have to get a spellbook, and spells from scratch until I gain a wizard level.
In case you need it;
Figment
Sage

Edit: his crime trait would either be Arison, as he attempted to burn his way out after getting caught in the library, or Consorting with the Dark Powers, as he attempted to summon some evil creature in the basement of the Great Library :)

Haruk |

I present Haruk, I would like him to be a Tiefling, but I can make him a human.
He will go Sorcerer, but I will probably start Expert 1/Adept 1.
You said we have our normal class spell list, so does that mean I would not have access to any of the Adept spells?
Need to add a crime and add a bit to his backstory for him getting captured.

Background finished and Thiriston Pipionem ready for submission. Thoughts?
Thiriston's birth came as a surprise to his parents. Not that he wasn't expected, rather it was his appearance - beautiful, flawless olive brown skin, eyes like polished bronze bowls and a head of silvery hair so fine it looked as though it were made of the metal itself. Thiriston bears no resemblance to his birth parents at all. The Pipionems, accustomed to outright poverty for all of their lives immediately interpreted Thiriston's arrival as a lucky omen and as news of his birth spread and visitors began pouring in, his parents seized this as an opportunity to make ends meet. Charging a fee for viewing, Thiriston was put on display and when he was older even taught a few gestures similar to those used by clergymen to bless their followers. For an extra gold piece, Thiriston would bless his visitors - adding priestly robes made his parent's fraud that much more convincing.
Thiriston's life took on a surreal feeling. He was rarely permitted to venture outside and when he did, he was closely watched and had to be covered. It did not take this young Aasimar long to figure out he was tricking his visitors for money and in time he honed his skill. He regarded his visitor as toys to be manipulated for gold and quickly fell under precious metal's timeless spell. But all good things must come to an end. Adding to an already unstable lifestyle, the family was forced to move dozens of times sometimes barely escaping the long arm of the law.
When he was old enough to leave home his parents refused his request to venture out on his own. Unwilling to accept this he killed his parents in their sleep. With a pouch full of gold and the world at his feet, Thiriston continued to dress in ways so as to hide his divine features. In order to satisfy gold's gentle lure, he began educating himself on the subject; in particular who has it and how it was spent. The big money was in investments - mining ventures, real estate, campaign sponsorships and the buying and selling of arms. These were sealed behind closed doors under the supervision of shrewd professionals known as Barristers.
Unable and unwilling to afford the high costs of study, Thiriston saw his in through an apprenticeship as a scribe. Using a little charm and a dash of wit, Thiriston talked his way into influential circles, rubbed shoulders with the wives of nobles (ah, the pleasures of the flesh) and innocently made contacts. Once he'd amassed enough knowledge from his tutors, he traveled to neighboring territories, drew up his own contracts and managed to obtain legitimate signatures.
Soon Thiriston had amassed a great deal of wealth. Although he had no way of making good on his most of his contracts, he did manage to fill a few of his arms contracts through a middleman eager to dump hundreds of weapons. They looked to be of fine quality and were even marked DQ, which according to Thiriston's sources was a reputable smithy. But this was not enough. When the nobles realized they'd been swindled Thiriston was soon tracked down and brought before the courts...
