Waiting for a good moment to chime in. Now that Richard has a handle on the machines, Vitranna feels more like an extra wheel than anything else.
She knows magic, but her real expertise is survival, nature, and the various elements.

If someone spots them in time, you'll probably have about a minute to cast buffing/prep spells
Is no-one going to comment on Vitranna's plan? Good, bad, or otherwise? I figured Grelda would at least say something.
I will wait some more today and see what's what before I respond again later this afternoon or early evening.
NOTE: Any way you guys want to handle this encounter is fine by me, just realize Vitranna was raised that the best defense is a good offense. She's not going to hide if she can take advantage of an enemy's weaknesses.
That being said, she's not stupid either...
I think your plan has a much better chance, if we can draw away the bulk of the force through some ruse. A ruse that the subhuman intellects would find irresistible.
I was simply waiting for everyone to have their input. My big contribution is giving us a fall back position.
It does depend on how big the force is they send...for an old man and his assistant.
That's why I suggest scouting. Miya can hide and move quickly enough to let us know about them, and I can use my magic to hide if I need to do so, and can cast a message spell to alert the others as needed.
Sorry, I've been busier than anticipated for the past several days. Holiday preparations and such. I will get a post up soon once I catch up.
I expect we'll all be a bit busier in the coming days. I'm going to try to get all of the battle preparations sorted and on a map at the very least. If people are leaving for vacations, I may wait to start the actual combat.
