I'm aware of what ghillie suit is, I'm just a bit surprised I can't find an item listing for it. I found a 3.5 one, but not PF. The closest thing I can find is a Moss Cloak which is a (I think overcosted) magic item.

Anyway, it should count as clothing, so by RAW, it would not add any encumberance.

Gameplay post coming soon

That is a good song! But when I think of Jolis's overall motivations, I think of this. (Warning: if you have a metallic allergy, this song maybe too much metal for you!)

No time for a full post now, but on the first day of travel, Grelda will use 8 rounds of raginf song for song of marching. That will let us hustle all day without getting fatigued so we can travel twice as far.

If you want Lera to help with the Kn (nature) roll, say it out loud.

Kn (Nature): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

I just went ahead and dropped you onto a roll20 map for uh...scale. Yeah. (I left out the trees this time because they get in the way on here.)

I've seen a lot of people have had trouble getting on the site the last couple days, so I'm going to give them a bit before I post.

And now I can't even look at the gameplay thread except on my phone. I'll make a quick post just to keep things moving along, but I don't want to get into Stuff while the site is like this.

Jolis = Star-Lord
Richard = Rocket
Grelda = Drax

Not sure about the other three...

Miya = Groot?
Valeriya = Gamora?
Vitranna = Nebula?

It's not a perfect analogue. :)

Groot explains the analogy in an insightful and illuminating way.

I definitely see the analogy.

So, if you recall, when Grelda spent a portion of her time interviewing villagers, I told you she had managed to learn some of their stories. Since I was barely able to get on the forum yesterday, I decided to take some time to write those up. This is largely fluff tbh, and I mostly did it for my own gratification, but hopefully you'll find it entertaining.

Kal:
Kal grew up in the slums of Korvosa. He was a bit of a troublemaker, considered by many to be a good for nothing. He lived with three younger siblings and a single mother who struggled raising them, so when he turned 15, he signed on with a local shipping company. He started working on the docks, and after a year of hard work, he was able to earn a spot working on the ship kitchen. He left his mother with a tidy sum, enough to get her out of the worst part of the city, and made arrangements to have his other wages sent to her. Unfortunately, just a week into his first trip, the ship went through a terrible storm that tore it to pieces.

Kal was the only survivor of his crew, something he contributes to sheer dumb like. The mayor found him on the beach, and soon saw how promising he was. He took Kal under his wing, along with other gifted, young men and women of the village. However, Kal never managed to see his own potential, still believing he was just that troubled Korvosan boy. After the mayor’s death, he quickly swallowed those doubts and stepped up into his new role, but when he isn’t forced to put on a brave face he is still plagued by insecurity.

Jhena:
According to Jhena, she was the mightiest warrior in her tribe. She was feared by all who encountered her, orc or otherwise. She once fought off a hundred men at once with both hands tied behind her back and a knife between her teeth. On a dare, she rode into a hurricane on a rowboat and killed it with her bare hands. Unfortunately, the boat didn’t make it, and the waves carried her to Storm Island.

You doubt the validity of her story. According to the other villagers, this is the tamest version she has told in recent memory.

Tyleah:
Tyleah does not like to speak much about her history. You know that in her homeland, she was well-respected even in her youth, as evidenced by her many tattoos. She was on a pilgrimage seeking the voice of the spirits when she landed on the island. She spent many years seeking a way home, but found only vague hints and cryptic clues.

After many years on the island, she grew close to a Varisian man in the village, and eventually married him. They had a daughter together, and her priorities changed. She still wanted to return home, but she wanted to do it as a family – and that meant keeping her daughter safe until the day came when they found a way to leave. Unfortunately, her husband did not live to see that day, but she still speaks of him often, determined to keep his memory alive.

Megra:
Something of a child prodigy, Megra was barely a teenager by the time she’d read every book in her small town’s meager library. She had a naturally inquisitive mind and absorbed information quickly. Unwilling to let their daughter’s great potential go to waste, her parents saved up and called favors to get her an apprenticeship in Highhelm. For the first time in her life, she felt her curiosity was satisfied and she had a teacher who could keep up with her. But after noticing that her emotional growth had been neglected, her master suggested that she go out and see more of the world and meet new people. Just two years into her apprenticeship, she left the Dwarven kingdom with several others, but none of them ever made it back.

Even with her education incomplete, Megra is still likely the smartest person in the village. She typically makes first claim on any new books or devices that wash up on shore intact, but these are few and far enough between that she is largely bored by the place and would gladly take up the first offer that gets her home alive.

Seldarin:
When asked, Seldarin will simply tell you that his own life has been largely unremarkable, though he would gladly enlighten you on the teachings of Sarenrae if you like. However, older villagers will readily tell you that the elf lead most of the early expeditions to explore the island, and personally made contact with each of the other villages. However, the deeper he explored, the more friends he lost on the island. One day, he simply refused to go back out, saying “The only thing there is to find on this island is death.”

Other npc's will come when I have more free time.

Yeah but she hides it behind a less threatening facade. Gamora is never anything than who she is.

Her mysterious powers, childish facade, and dark secrets might make her more Mantis.

Mantis is incredibly powerful in the comics. She's a gift martial artist, has energy projection, can read emotions, and more. Look her up; she's one of my favorite Guardians.

The movie one is headed in the right direction. She's just naive because she has only ever lived on Ego's planet. I think she'll get better as things progress.

Will do, we had that old chat at university, students could ask any one question.

So one asked whoes the most powerful superhero
Long chat about DC or marvel supers until they asked me the lecturer.

I said the most powerful bad guy is Gelexticus
So your looking for a super who can take him on alone The only one I know who could and win is not fron DC or Marvel, he/she is from a tv show. That would be the Doctor, from Doctor eho.

But us he a hero?, He's killed galexy spaning civilizations, gods and demons. His key supers power is what? Disgustingly god level Intelligent, being able to 'see' and 'feel' time and space, all if it.

Hes more a gid thab hero, the lonly gid in fact.

What of doctor Manhattans powers, us he a hero.

So hard to know whose god level or hero level.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

When anyone asks who the most powerful superhero is, I always answer Squirrel Girl and canon backs me up. Anyone who disagrees simply hates fun.

Comic book power level arguments are never a good idea. Fanboyism among readers and writers over several decades always lead to inconsistency.

It's only a bad idea if your goal is to be correct rather than to entertain.

True (and I agree about Squirrel Girl, Destroyer of Worlds) but not every comic is about cheesy fun that doesn't care about continuity.

It would be weird for example for Mr. Zazsz (can't spell his name for s!%*) to suddenly kill Darkseid. Zazsz is one of Batman's most vile villains. Even the Joker is good for a laugh on occasion.

Zazsz is also a normal human with a sick mind. Darkseid is a threat to the whole galaxy. Having Zazsz kill him wouldn't be funny as they are both serious characters. It would just be baffling and unsatisfying.

Power levels are best kept to sad nerd debates and idle chat between friends.

I'm getting really tired of "The most pure heroes turn into the most evil villains" trope going around. Evil Superman has been done to death. This Captain Nazi thing is an insult as it turns Comics' most well-known WWII Veteran into a Nazi. And DC is going to do an Elseworlds story about Dick Grayson deciding to kill everyone with superpowers for some unknown but probably stupid reason.

Evil Cap is trite and boring as we all know that it is going to be undone somehow. All it does have one of Comics' most enduring symbols of hope and freedom turn into a bad guy because edginess in yet another big crossover even though we're all tired of that. This one in particular had Magneto working with Hydra and a Nazi lifting Thor's Hammer even though Thor himself can't do it right now.

Yawn.

P.S. Marvel shouldn't have to plead with readers to finish a huge story arc with plenty of tie-ins for us to judge it. If we don't want to read it after over a year then they have failed to entertain us.

I would have liked to have been there for that meeting.

Head Honcho: So what do you have for me?

Head Honcho: That's brilliant. We can unveil it during our the push for our She Hulk feminine hygiene products. You're promoted to Sniveling VP.

The thing is, with some other character, this might kit have been so bad. It could be a story of the troubling rise of the alt-right and pseudo-facism in America today.

But having Cap be against it would make for the better story imo.

It's an odd time for superheros.
Film Genre wise they not yet have hit the "Spaghetti Western" stage of a Genres, Cop films, Medical films, Sifi films, Disaster film, they all hit a stage where films feed on the very Genre itself. [See deadpool]

But its getting there, After seeing Crise in the Mummy, O man what a mess of a film and seeing how Marvel seeking to steal the ideas of League of extraordinary Gentlemen / Penny Dreadful
to make Marvels dark universe [TM]
You get the feeling dumb ass in the board room is the norm.

What I do like right now is
American gods
Liked the book Book and new show,

So I kind of left the whole superhero thing for a while, Deadpool was fun but Superheros are this close to "Spaghetti Western" stage and that mean not much longer to run before the paying public are sick of them and move on.

Vitranna no. They're quadrupeds. They get a bonus against trip attempts.

I think they're actually tripeds? But yes, the bonus is there.

Trying to formulate some plans once I get inside.

How big is the rug? How heavy is the rug and/or the door approx.

The stairs lead to a second floor? Is the entrance to the second floor blockable?

The rug is about ten feet around and approximately the consistency of wet tissue paper. The door is an average, 3x8 foot wooden door, not too heavy. The entrance to the second floor is approx. a 3x3 foot square hole in the ceiling, presumably once covered by some sort of door. It likely won't be too hard to block it with something.
