Craggark was just thinking that his new boots looked so nice and shiny, unmarred and clean.

"Who takes the lead? Who wants to check for traps and such?"

"By the barmaid's tiny skirt, Jawhar!" Jamir cries in concern. "Back up and let me and Craggark go in front. That is why the Society tries to put big dumb fighters like us in the party to begin with!" For once, Jamir seems deadly serious.

As soon as Jawhar gives him some room, Jamir squeezes past him, looking up and down for traps and signs of danger.

"No, Lia. I've never had a vision before. The experience is quite unsettling. Fortunately, the memory is fading, much like a dream."

I really wish this was the first character that had a death rolled back by divine intervantion... The first one was a TPK caused by Pathfinder CR math not working out right, though. The GM actually thought the battle would be easy...

Torvald Stonecask wrote:
... " Is is still a 'vision' per se, if there's nothing involving sight?"

"That is a very interesting philosophical question, Torvald, and one with more ramifications than you might at first think.

Can a blind Oracle still have visions? For that matter, does a person who is born blind still have dreams? If so, what are those dreams like?

That is branching far afield, though, and I'd rather not distract you and the others from protecting the party from any nasty dangers ahead."

indeed as Jamir and Torvald creep silently down the stairs, several trip wires is revealed at the bottom of the staircase. Looking up..Torvald notices how loose the stone and tiles are above the staircase...held up only by a few loose planks. Jamir and Torvald look at each other and then at Jawhar...were the traveling with a true prophet of Sarenrae?

OK you guys can back up the stairs and discuss how you're defeat the trap. there are several trip wires strung across the bottom stair and the landing at the bottom of the stairs. it's a DC 15 disable device to overcome the trap..(remember fail by 5 or more u still set the trap off) or you can suggest other ways of defeating the trap at the top of the stairs)

I can't believe that anyone inside of the base is not already aware of our presence. Why leave guards if they aren't going to monitor them?

The only problem would be if the falling rocks block the doorway at the bottom of the steps and there is some alternate exit point for the Shadowlodgers to escape.

Better than risking our lives to a trap."

sorry my post must have been eaten last night. Without tools it will take a 19 for Torvald to succeed. Sorry, I panicked. I read your sheet and it showed a +6 disable device. I know that they add +10 to the DC of a check when you don't have tools, so that would have made the DC a 25. Rolled initiative for everybody to expedite. Order happens after Craggark opens the door. Here's the order:

1. enemy caster
2. Dire rat
3.Craggark
4. Jawhar

6 Jamir
7. Shadow lodge agent 2
8. Shadow lodge agent 1
9. Analia

Craggark opens the door suddenly and sees an over-sized rat with beady red eyes a few feet in front of him; it rushes in to attack Craggark while, an armored man in a dark cloak laughs, flipping a dagger. Somewhere to Craggark's left, he can here someone chanting the words to a spell ( the door and the book shelves are blocking his view). This brick-walled room is fifty feet long and twenty-five feet wide and the ceiling stands twenty feet tall. Abandoned metal braces, likely once used to hold up shelves of items, are studded along the north and south brick walls. A fresh, new looking wooden door is closed on the south wall. The entire room smells of unwashed flesh and possesses a faint, sickly sweet odor. The room is unbelievably hot, a sharp contrast to the cold brewery above. Makeshift shelves stand on east and west ends of the room, some of them sparsely filled with books. A large, round wooden table sits in the middle of the room, surrounded by chairs. Along the entire length of the north wall are stacked cages, jars, buckets, bottles and various bits of masonry, all teaming with a wide variety of insects.

Craggark you cannot diagonal a corner..we been through this before. It's been in the game since the beginning. In the spirit of keeping the game moving; I'm going to take over your character(this turn) and simple do what you attempted to do your attack roll is negated because it's a standard action to do an overrun(yes this is the penalty I'm enforcing)however I will use your acrobatics roll for the overrun maneuver which will surpass the rat's CMD. Next time we run in to this problem I may penalize the entire turn.

Note:
The rat lets you pass so you will not knock it prone and your perception check revealed the chanting of the caster in the corner (otherwise he'd have been un-spoted because he was around two corners and behind a bookcase)

Craggark attempts an over-run combat maneuver against the dire rat and succeeds.. the rat snips at Craggark as it lets him pass bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 It's Torvald's turn

As Analia's cold ray hit's the side wall harmlessly above the dire rat; Vermund decides to move out of his space quickly (it's a withdraw no provoking AoO from Craggark), Comrade block this brute for me! he yells to one of his agents as the caster backs up and drops a sling stone in sling. You guys hear a deep unseen voice respond Yes Vermund! (flavor only there is no action to load a sling..I think?). A previously unseen agent steps between Craggark and the caster between the rows of books. In the mean time, the dire Rat tries to bite Jamir. bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Alas, the Dire rat misses again.

(it's Craggark's turn or Torvald can jump in and do a full round action; after Craggark it's Jawhar.)

"Jamir, use some of that fancy footwork of yours and clear out of the doorway so others can have some fun!" Craggark calls to his friend as he launches his thunderstone around the grunt in front of him in order to hit a square that affects the caster.

"I'm working on it!" Jamir shouts in response, as he fends off the rodent's bite. "You do realize that not all of us can scare a giant rat out of the way just by letting it see our faces, don't you?"

Jamir is up after Jawhar, as Torvald delayed last round. C'mon, crit or killing blow, Daddy needs to refresh his panache!

Thanks, Jamir. I lost track of the initiative order. I want to buff Jamir, but need to be able to touch him and Torvald is in the way, so I will delay.

Torvald's Readied Action never went off, so he is up again

Gah, I need Precise Bombs asap! Can I peek around the stairwell wall enough to target the Agent? If not I'll bomb the rat with apologies to Jamir.

I'll wait to post Jamir's turn until Torvald's attack is resolved. Here is Jamir's reflex save against the splash damage from the bomb (if needed):

and an extra +1 from Bless. I suppose we are already into Round 2 of Bless. How are we supposed to track that when the spell caster delays?

male Snows of Summer

OK guys I just lost a huge post form a miss click so just roll with the narrative cause I'm not re-rolling numbers and explaining rules O.K. (lost at least 3 paragraph's ughh!)
1. Craggark's attack at Vermund's feet with the thunderstone is successful but Vermund saves; however the Shadowlodge agent is deafened (#2)
2. Torvald misses his ranged touch attack by 1 cause the rat is in melee his adjuste roll is -4 (melee rule no precise shot..not sure if I should add soft cover bonus too.) and +1 from bless= adjusted 13..rat's touch AC=14
3. the miss hit the wall behind Jamir (already rolled for this)
4. The Rat didn't make his splash dmg. save Jamir did Rat disappears in a puff of smoke (spellcraft check DC: 16) and Jamir takes 2 dmg cause he makes his reflex.

It' is Jawhar's turn
