Jamir leaps to his feet, frantically slapping at his clothes and brushing insects from his hair. After a moment, he gives a final horrified shiver, shakes his head to clear it, then winks at Jawhar.
"I suppose we shall not face Pharasma's judgment today after all, my friend. My thanks to you and the grace of the Dawnflower, as always."
Looking around their cramped surroundings, Jamir notices Torvald's dangling rope for the first time.
"Ah! Our means of egress from this Stygian pit! Come on, Jawhar! Our friends await our aid!"
The diminutive swashbuckler slings his buckler over his back, and prepares to climb.
Frakkin' ratzin' $%@&#^!! action economy for climbing out of a 30' pit at first level!

The three characters with dark vision can clearly see the smaller goblin archer stare down at his boss. As if making a sudden decision, the goblin begins to move forward in to your room. It looks to the left but sees the brutish Craggark in his path so decides to move to the right where only, the petite Analia stands. He approaches her quickly as if to attack.. however he moves right past her and attempts to skirt around the table Torvald is standing on.
Torvald you'll get An AoO with your spiked gauntlet as the goblin passes from the square right behind Analia to the one directly in back of your table(don't forget to add +1 because you have higher ground). Ana would have got an AoO but I don't believe she has a melee weapon drawn. (if I'm wrong about that Analia can take a swipe too)Btw if you're wondering the goblin simply walked over the bedrolls which amount to nothing more than sleeping bags. Craggark, it will be your turn after Torvald resolves his AoO..

Still AC5 to target a square? I'll just bomb the square behind the goblin to catch him in the splash.
Torvald's gauntlet spikes tear a ragged line across the goblin's scalp, but fail to penetrate its knobby skull. Intent on preventing the ugly creature's escape, the dwarf draws another bomb and throws it just ahead of the skittering creature--catching it in the billowing cloud of flame.

sorry forgot to add ur +2 to ur reflex u can re-roll the reflex if u want.
Cover and Reflex Saves
Here's the rule Craggark
Cover grants you a +2 bonus on Reflex saves against attacks that originate or burst out from a point on the other side of the cover from you. Note that spread effects can extend around corners and thus negate this cover bonus.
either way u still collapse ur only at 1 hp btw. these kind of questions go in the discussion thread please

A reminder of the climb rules: A Climb check that fails by 4 or less means that you make no progress, and one that fails by 5 or more means that you fall from whatever height you have already attained. Jawhar has a net neg modifier to climb so if he misses by too much he'll drop and go un-conscious if he drop from basically any distance. Since you failed from the start ( by 5 or more) I'm just saying you slip and are prone at the beginning of your next round. remember u and Jamir are only at 1hp!
Jawhar attempts to move quickly up the rope to help his friends but in his haste the rope slips from his hands and he falls on his tush to the familiar crunch sound of dead insect husk.
Btw Jamir still need u to take ur turn
Jamir "Hamstring" Montajay

Jamir, still weaving a bit on his feet from his clumsy jump into the pit, is poised to leap for the rope and scramble up the wall. Seeing Jawhar fall before making it even a few feet off the ground, however, gives him pause.
"We should not both risk this climb without seeing to our injuries, my friend." From his bandolier, Jamir withdraws a vial of light blue liquid and pulls off the cap; the faint smell of a clear summer day wafts from the contents. "I have one healing potion, Jawhar. Better you drink it now, so that if we both fall, there will be a chance you will be able to heal us both with your magic."

Jamir, Jawhar does not take the potion cause technically his action is after yours (he tried to climb the wall fell on his butt) so you drink the potion your up to 6hp I'll take it off your inventory
The goblin archer looks around in terror and bolts for the bridge Craggark I won't bot ur AoO cause u might have something else planned..remember u have to draw the potion before u drink it and I don't think u have two actions left with Orc ferocity, but anyway I'll let u decide how ur going to play it. Torvald u also have an AoO with ur gauntlet should u desire
lucklesshero
Craggark not sure if your aware but you have a chance at an AoO if you like, Jawhar Jamir..you're welcome to do your actions down in the pit if you like.
lucklesshero
Craggark will give you most of the day to decide if you want to take an AoO on the Goblin archer..about 3pm my time I will just "bot" you (that's 7hrs from now) In the mean time Jawhar and Jamir can both act. I understand Jamir wanted to delay to let Jawhar act first so I'll assume Jawhar acted first no matter who post first
Jawhar

Jawhar is going to start removing his armor (1 minute).
I'm out of this battle anyways, so I might as well eliminate any chance that I fall back into this pit.
After it's all said and done, someone can hoist my pack and armor up top, then I'll climb up myself (unless I'm allowed to take 10 once the combat is over, then I'll just wait and cast some healing on myself)
Jamir "Hamstring" Montajay
|
Thought about doing the same, but I want to give it one more try first. I hope you still have a couple of uses of Rebuke Death left if Jamir falls!
Jamir shouts up to the top of the pit, "I AM ON MY WAY, COMRADES! DO NOT KILL ALL THE GOBLINS BEFORE I ARRIVE!"
Jamir eyes the rope dangling against the wall for another moment, remembering his inability to pull himself onto the rafters upstairs. Shrugging aside the unfamiliar moment of self-doubt, he spits on his hands and rubs them, grins one last time at Jawhar, and leaps to the wall with a resounding WHOOP and begins to scramble up the rope.

potion of CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9
Don't know if Craggark would take an extra hp damage for doing two move actions - would that count as strenuous? Either way, Craggark would fall unconscious at the end of the round, so he'll do it.
"Run away, little goblin," Craggark grunts.
lucklesshero
The Goblin tries to run away and scamper across the Bridge Torvald takes a swing at it as it bolts but he misses the goblin hits the bridge without slowing down remember this happens before Jamir and Jawhar's turnsgoblin acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 but soon as he hits the bridge he begins to loose his balance and falls into the pit with Jamir and Jawhar (square PC is located:#1 Jamir,#2 Jawhar,#3 empty,#4 empty)random die to see which square goblin lands in: 1d4 ⇒ 2 (Jawhar please make a DC:10 reflex to avoid falling goblin) falling dmg to goblin: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
At the bottom of the pit Jawhar begins to take off his armor and Jamir prepares to climb suddenly there's a commotion above and Jawhar's eyes widen as a nasty little goblin comes tumbling toward him it's arms in a windmill pattern as it free-falls.
Torvald it's your turn, it's best to heal Craggark you can see him fumbling for his healing potion now..he'll not be able to get it out and drink it without collapsing so if you hit him with the wand now..he can drink his potion on his turn.

She calls out, "For Craggark!" and she hits it, then "For Jawhar! and she hits it, then "For Jamir!" and she hits it, then "For Torvlad! she hits it, and then finally, "and for ME! LOL you know u've given the adventures a tough time when they are pissing on their enemies graves!!! OMG too funny to all of you!!but muhaha you're not through yet! Lets skip to the part where everybody is out of the pit safely on whatever side you choose..Torvald please take off one charge of cure lt from Craggark's wand that you carry cure lt.: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Between the cure mod Craggark takes and the cure lt hit he just got Craggark is now at full HP.
The battle won the Goblins defeated and dismembered you gather yourselves together and spare a glance at the ignominious pit trap.. you can still hear a few of the prisoners moan in the storage room where you fell the Mutant Goblin Glorfan..However, you figured it best to re-enforce the make shift bridge and make it more stable before you tried to lead half starved prisoners over it to where? That is a question still un-answered. Your task done (fixing the bridge) you have gathered a moment to talk and heal those who still have wounds untended. None of you have dared to ask if Skagni still lives...the way your last few days have went...you're afraid of the answer.
Fyi the bridge is fixed and no longer an issue in this adventure..

The half-orc walks slowly up behind the gnome as she turns the half-goblin into a popsicle.

For once, Craggark isn't abashed by saying it out loud.

Jamir turns to Jawhar.
"I would tell them to get a room, but I want to make sure Craggark helps pull us out of the pit first."
Jamir and Jawhar both still need healing, but if Jawhar is planning to channel once in range of the prisoners, Jamir will hold off asking for a charge from the wand unless the channel isn't enough.
Once the group is reunited and the bridge secured, they hurry back into the room with the prisoners. While Jawhar prepares to channel, Jamir checks the body of the mutant goblin and around the room for keys to their shackles.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
If there are no keys to be found, Jamir pulls out his club and begins bashing at the point where the chains are bolted to the wall.

Torvald carefully picks his way across the bridge Taking a 10, armor & Dex cancel out and grabs his heavy pack, fishing around inside for the fireward gel. Dragging the bundle to the edge of the pit, he calls, "Craggark! I have something important for you! It's the fire-resistance gel!" and then underhand tosses it to the half-orc. "You have to rub it all over, I'm sure Lia will help!"
Grabbing the rope dangling into the pit, he helps haul up Jamir and Jawhar. "Here, Jamir, I made a fire gel for you too," the dwarf presses a second vial into the halfling's hand.

Then she waggles her finger as if to scold him, but her smile breaks through and her eyes practically beam as she says,"You're lucky your pretty."
When Craggark catches the gel, Lia responds to Torvald's comment with a confident grin, "I certainly will help rub it all over you. And if Torvald isn't careful I will make him watch."
She then promptly takes the alchemical substance from the frostkin and beckons him to kneel, after which she proceeds to spread it upon his face, arms and eventually all over his gear too. She takes her time, lingering now and again over certain areas, just to be sure the coverage is... all encompassing.
With some color now in her otherwise pale cheeks, she looks up into Craggark's eyes as if searching for something, when suddenly she grabs his collar, leans forward and kisses him firmly on the lips. When she pulls back, she breaths, "So, you love me. I can work with that. Now go help pull up our friends." and she lets the stunned frostkin go before turning to see if she can find Skagni among the prisoners.
lucklesshero
Jamir eventually finds a a rusted brass key on top of an upside down barrel. It takes some time but eventually you free all the prisoners from their shackles. Most appear to be Linnorm Kingdom peasants and indeed one or two strong enough to speak confirms the were captured when their village was raised on the coast and that the are members of the Blood Ram tribe. When asked about Skagni the two that are coherent enough to still speak say, That one over there is the one you seek, we think. He's the only outsider among us and kept saying the Pathfinders would come and save us...we all thought he was crazy till now.. Both of the men look at each other with guilty shame.
One of the last prisoners you release does resemble your description of Skagni. The man before you is alive ( unlike at least one other person shackled to the wall) but, he is barely hanging on. He mumbles incoherently and drifts in and out of consciousness. While tending to the prisoners.. you notice a large barred door leading out of the storage room. The bar is on this side as if to keep something from the other side getting in to this room. A soft blue light emanates from the bottom of the door and wisp of freezing fog curls out of the gap between the door and the floor. The fog quickly rises and dissipates.. Situation..your entire party is now inside the store room with the freed prisoners. The Goblin Glorfan has been searched and Jamir found the obvious key but the rest of the room remains un-searched. Jawhar and Jamir are still wounded.

Once all of the prisoners and the party is gathered in a 30ft radius, Jawhar will begin an unnecessary invocation before channelling.

Before Jawhar leads the released prisoners back to the library, Jamir suggests showing Skagni the chest.
"Perhaps whatever is inside it will induce his spirit to rally in spite of the mistreatment he has endured!"
Jamir begins to search the room more methodically, casting a few uneasy glances at the glow and fog under the barred door.
Perception, take 10: 10 + 6 = 16
As he looks around, Jamir makes his way over to Torvald.
"I don't know how many charges are left on that healing wand, but I am still banged up from my ... poorly timed leap into the pit after Jawhar. Before we find out whatever is behind that door, would you mind giving me a tap to bring me closer to fighting form?"
lucklesshero
The prisoners are very grateful for the food and mercy Jawhar and the whole group has shown them. But, unsure where to go they remain in the library while the rest of you move to the store room. Craggark retrieves the chest and a semi -lucid Skagni finally comes to.. That chest! I recognize that chest! It belongs to Venture Captain Drandle Dreng! It was suppose to be delivered to me in Trollheim before... Skagni's voice cracks at recalling the traumatic events of the last couple of months. He looks at your group in surprise and wonder, But how? I thought we were taken to Winterhaven? How is it Pathfinders find themselves here? Or am I hallucinating again Skagni's eyes roll for a moment and his head tilts back in misery.. Oh by the Gods if I'm hallucinating don't let it end this time! I can't take the thought of that Mutant Goblin threatening to eat me while I'm still alive anymore!
As Skagni laments the horrors of his treatment at the hands of his captors..Jamir finds an interesting item in the storeroom. A small, unlocked wooden chest sits in the northeast corner behind the supply boxes. Inside are five potions, a wand of cure light, and a scroll.
Skagni is lucid just staggered (0hp) and worn from his ordeal. Give me appropriate spellcraft, perception, and or craft alchemy checks to identify the magic items.

Craggark takes some time to.....sort himself out after being viciously assaulted by Lia. Once in a more half-orc frame of mind, he brings the chest in for Skagni's benefit.
"It's not a hallucination, friend. We've come a long way to find you. This, I believe, is yours. Delivered unsealed for your eyes only."
"Lead then to safety so we can completely clear the level."
Craggark raises his eyebrows at the cleric. "You make it sound like some sort of game, Jawhar." The frostkin grunts as he focuses his eyes on the door in question. "I like it. I'd feel more comfortable if we were all a level up, though."
