Craggark of the Miusunnit had a warm upbringing in a frosty world, completely unaware of his unorthodox status in the world at large. His mother, a well-respected priestess of the Erutaki, had conceived Craggark while on walkabout in the icy tundra of their homeland, and when Irikh Stonyfish said it was OK, there was no discussion. And so Craggark was born, frostkin orc heritage evident in his bluish skin tone, pointed ears, and mandibular tusks, and the semi-permanent village adopted him as if there was no question.

His youth was full of adventure and without the chaos and angst that pockmarked the upbringing of most of Golarion half-orcs. Craggark wasn’t even aware of his alternate racial status - that he wasn’t full human - until he was well through puberty, well after he had killed his first king walrus. By then, Craggark had already showed prowess in martial pursuits, and was sent to Kalsgard to hone his obvious skills with warriors and soliders alike.

It was in Kalsgard that Craggark began experiencing bigotry and exclusion. His bluish skin closed more doors than it opened. He was expelled from the military academy he attended for petty reasons. Ridiculed and belittled, the young half-orc relocated back to the Miusunnit village and resigned himself to tend to the ice peppers his people grew.

The visiting monks were as surprised to find the village as the villagers were to host them. The holy men were on their own form of a walkabout, seeking peace and serenity in the tundra, far from their home city of Absalom. Craggark approached Lung Chang one evening as he saw the monk performing his kata, and curious about the unarmed martial prowess he saw on display, asked for tutelage.

The teacher and pupil became friends, both men gaining wisdom of many kinds during their times together. Lung Chang encouraged Craggark’s nagging search for his personality, recognizing the half-orc’s unbidden desire to know more of his orc heritage. Craggark didn’t achieve the presence of mind to meditate as Lung Chang so often did, but found the familiar routines of the kata to fit his personal rhythms so well that they became second nature to the half-orc, and a soothing tonic to the harsh existence of the Miusunnit village.

The attacks came suddenly, without warning, a rogue band of half-orcs, fleeing Averaka, half-starving and insatiable with primal rage. Craggark and the wise monks helped to defend the village, but many died that day, including Lung Chang. Chaggark had exchanged words with one of the brigands before landing a killing blow, and was struck with the nihilistic disregard for life that filled the doomed assailant. In contrast to Lung Chang’s wise words (and those of Abadar, his patron deity), the chaos-infused half-orc seemed pathetic and lost, a self-destructive representation of what it meant to be a half-orc.

Chaggark’s mother Irikh was gravely wounded in the battle, and later wound up losing her sight, but retaining her life. Chaggark’s destiny was set, it would seem. Not only would serving Abadar as best he could honor Lung Chang’s memory, but it might serve to combat the ills plaguing his race. His mothert suggested Kalsgard as a place to continue his work and studies.

He had seen at this point the worst in what it meant to be bestial, and yet, in Kalsgard, he had also witnessed civilized half-orc brethren performing duties, adhering to laws, and taking on responsibility. Craggark assumed that civilization was the answer, as Lung Chang had suggested.

Craggark knew that he needed to pursue his own ends, as his mother would want, in his own way. The Pathfinder Society seemed the path to address his desires - the spread of civiliization to his half-orc brethren - and though the Andoran faction’s aims of abolitionism and freedom appealed greatly to him, the base reality of the need for mercantile power to influence the hearts of men steered him to the Exchange.

Craggark has big plans. He aims to lead the enlightened of Belkzen to a new dawn, where they and those like them are recognized as men, and not base, bestial, subjects to their desires and passions. Abadar guides his hands, and the Pathfinder Society provides the conduit through which he might channel his will. His mother’s and Lung Chang’s spirit provide constant inspiration for his aims, and Craggark’s aim is true.

In recent times, Craggark has found love in the strangest of places: the gnome sorcerer Analia (Lia). He has also pledged his fists to the aid of his brother-in-arms, Jamir.
