The final messenger is easily destroyed with Syksy's hit I actually don't remember what its AC was and I don't care. Sorry not sorry. Garrote swipes at a kobold and misses. Jonah makes one go splat. Two koblods remain.

"Sorry!" Syksy lets out as the messenger falls to pieces. Seeing the little lizard man attack Akasha though an annoyed expression takes over his face as he swats at the Kobold.

Silian fires an arrow at one of the remaining kobolds (Orange), and then directs the thundercloud to sizzle it also before it dissipates. "Jonah, that is racist," the elf's voice drips with sarcasm. "To think my companion, a holy messenger of the Sovereign Host, would diminish these poor diminished reptiles with such barbs."

Akasha |

Akasha can't help but bark out a laugh as she looks up to see Syksy about to butcher her opponent. Spinning to roll off of both Syksy and Garotte, momentarily going back to back with each of them, she moves around to strike at the last live kobold.

Jonah d'Tharashk |

Looking slightly startled. Hey, I just call them as I see them
He starts to move over to where he can bring his spear into play again.
Besides, where I grew up, being honest, was a virtue
He grins as he continues to move.

The remaining kobolds are easily dispatched of by the swift blades and crafty magic of the group. Lady Elaydren stands up from behind the table and pushes her hair out of her face.
"More of the assassins may show up at any moment. All the information you need is in the left pocket of the backpack. Take it and go! Get out of the city as quickly as you can!"
Elaydren rushes past you, grabbing a sword off of the fallen warforged and fleeing the building. She makes her way out to the streets and disappears into the nearest alley.

Akasha |

"Damnit! She's gonna get herself killed." Akasha mutters as she quickly goes over the backpack. "See if they have anything useful on them and then we should get moving. Until we can take them out instead of just being on the defensive, I don't want innocents in out lives getting hurt when they come at us again."

DM Twilight |

The warforged: light crossbow + 4 bolts, traveling cloak, backpack. Kobolds: Spears, slings, leather armor. It doesn't give a list of what if anything was in the backpack so I'm going to say 800 gp.
Lifting the bag, Silian finds that it feels almost empty. Upon opening the bag he realizes there is more to it than it seems. The bag is a Heward's handy haversack and inside you find the following:
Center pocket:
80 arrows
80 bolts
50 feet of silk rope
1 bedroll per party member
1 waterskin per party member, filled
3 days trail rations per party member
Right pocket:
1 everbright lantern
1 flint and steel
1 healer's kit
5 torches
3 sacks
Left pocket:
Letter from Lady Elaydren
3 vials of holy water
3 potions of cure light wounds
A tiny rod of blue metal, three inches in length, with a sapphire embedded at one end
1 pouch containing 150 pp
1 casket containing 500 gp
A letter of credit for House Orien and House Lyrandar to cover passage to Rhukaan Draal, depending on which route you take.
My friends,
The object you recovered for me from the ruins beneath Sharn is a schema, a piece of a pattern used to create items both mundane and magical. I have learned that another schema connected to this pattern was being studied in a secret Cannith workshop in Cyre, called Whitehearth. I wonder if this research is tied to the Day of Mourning?
Parts of my own house seek this pattern for evil purposes, and I do not know whom to trust. So I turn to you. I need you to travel to Cyre, find the workshop, and recover the second schema.
The location of the workshop was a closely guarded secret lost when the patriarch of House Cannith died in the destruction of Cyre. You must travel to the House Cannith outpost i the town of Rose Quarry, in Darguun, to recover a record of all of Cannith's hidden workshops.
In Rhukann Draal, find a man named Failin in the Bloody Market. He can provide you with transport to Rose Quarry. From there, travel into the Mournland to find Whitehearth and the second schema. It is an adamantine plate in the shape of a diamond, about the size of a human's palm. Once you have retrieved it, return to Rhakaan Draal, where I will meet you. Succeed, and I will see to it that you are well rewarded for your courage.
Lady E.

Akasha |

Letting out a low whistle as she sees the contents of the backpack unfolding, Akasha reads the letter. "She believes that House Cannith itself is suspect and that the object we brought back, a 'Schema' along with others are being used by them somehow. Something that may be tied to the Day of Mourning." at the she falls quiet for a moment, remembering the horror of that day."W need to find another that was kept in a workshop whose location is a mystery, lost when the patron of House Cannith fell was killed in Cyre."
Passing the letter to Silan the magus runs a hand through her hair. "She included instructions on how to find the Cannith record archives that would tell us where the workshop was, as well as a meeting place should we be able to get it."

Silian nods in agreement to Akasha's whistle. "The goblin lands and the Mournland? Foul travels indeed. Fortunately I still have the cryptic map from within the vault when we went below Sharn, it may prove useful as well." Silian allows the others to peruse the gifts and resources. "We should make way to leave, but especially leave this tavern before our welcome is overstayed with the kobold blood seeping into the floorboards. Seems we need to book passage with either airship or carriage and lightning rail... as far out as the rail reaches before the lines are broken by the Mournland. Anyone have preferences to land or air travel? An airship might be faster, but land would draw less attention..."

Akasha |

"Sure. You're least likely to be impeded by it in a fight anyway." Akasha says as they prepare to leave. "If it weren't for the cost I'd suggest we make a visibly noticeable show of booking passage by airship, then taking carriage/rail at the last second. At the very least we can talk up one option where we're likely to be overheard, then take the other."

Jonah d'Tharashk |

Jonah takes a few moments to transfer the contents of his own pack, to the new pack.
By the expedient of just stuffing his pack in the other one.
I am ready to go now.
At the first chance, I will transfer my gear to the pack properly

Akasha |

"The ruins that were left in the aftermath of the Day of Mourning. The day Cyre exploded in a blast of arcane power that left it a giant mass grave." Akasha says solemnly. "We should head back to the tavern, drop "hints" about our plans to take an airship while one of us arranges for a carriage to the rail."

![]() |

"Aye, it caused a lot of grief, put an entire nation out of homes, created strange things I have only heard tell of in stories around a tavern... but at least it scattered the power of House Cannith and kept those Makers from gaining even more advantage over everyone else." Hood back up, Silian leaves the Ghallanda-ran inn, a smirk on his face as he looks at the mayhem. "Back to the Mirror. After you, loves."
Back to the Mirror to make a show of traveling by airship, discussing our route and what scenery we will encounter freely as we walk back through the towers and bridges to get to our current base.

DM Twilight |

The return trip to the Cracked Mirror is uneventful. Akasha is tackled by Jessamin the moment she steps through the door, wrapped up in her arms she presses her lips to Akasha's.
Zad sits behind the counter, his feet propped up on a stool and his nose buried in a book. He glances up as you enter and nods his head before turning his attention back to his reading material. Mrogab bustles about the main room, delivering drinks and sweeping up messes. Occasionally casting angry glances at Zad, which Zad studiously ignores.

Akasha |

As they head off together, Akasha waits until they are completely alone before letting Jessamin know of their plan. "We're being targeted, they're basically sending out crews to kill us and it would only b a matter of time before they show up here.
Caressing Jess cheek she looks into her eyes. [b]"We aren't going to sit around waiting for them, and while we figure out how to target whoever's behind this whole mess, I don't want anyone I care about getting hurt. We have a lead that will take us into the heart of the ruins of Cyre, but we need to meet someone first, so we'll be gone for a bit. Were setting it up to look like were going by airship, and at the last moment we'll skip out and go by carriage to the rail instead, hopefully leave them a couple steps behind or at least spread their forces thin." she finishes, knowing that Jess would be less than thrilled,
