You make your way into the long forgotten temple and find that it still holds a certain serene aura about the place. You feel tranquil and safe here. You feel that this place is still protected, and if you wanted to, or ever needed to, you could rest here undisturbed.
Perception DC20:
While looking over the temple you find a partially buried fountain in the buildings northwest corner. There is still some liquid in the fountain.
Syksy:
"The woman you have been searching for for as long as you can remember."
She turns her head to Zad, "Shadow Walker, when you meet the wounded noble in the streets, do not hesitate. To do so will mean certain death." Zad pauses, and bows to the woman, "Thank you, Aurora. I have told you, my name is Zad." She continues to stare blankly and says only, "Yes."
Once the proprietor explains her words further Syksy's eyes widen and his mouth tries to form a response but brings forth nothing. His lips moving about silently and uselessly as his brain reals from this apparent revelation he finally manages to give voice to his doubt. "But, if she is the one I'm searching for, she does have what I seek! They're one and the same!"
"You seek answers from this person, not merely the person herself." Concluding that her business is done, the woman turns around and begins putting things back on shelves.
The sheer strength of the protection spells laid into the very foundation and walls of this building overshadow any magic that might be emanating from the fountain.
F##~ing A, my stupidass ooc comment happened the same time as your reply so I never noticed it. Sorry for being a dumbass and holding things up.
The Shop:
Syksy's mouth begins to move about uselessly again as he tries to come up with some sort of response but let's it go as he lets his head hang for a moment before turning to Zad.
Silian walks over to the fountain that Jonah points at. "Well if magic cannot determine what is in the pool, it falls back to good old fashioned curiosity." Silian unfurls his whip from his belt to test the water for any surprise acidic or incendiary properties. If his whip does not dissolve, he kneels by the fountain to look/smell the liquid.
Silian is able to recognize the smell and taste as soon as the liquid hits his tongue and the warm, fuzzy feeling washes over him. Cure light wounds potion, enough for three doses.
And then he falls over dead. I kid, I kid.
No worries, Syksy. Not really holding anyone up since the party is separate from you right now anyway ;)
Syksy:
A faint smile tugs at the corners of Zad's mouth, "Shall we?" He extends his hand indicating the door.
After the taste, Silian holds his hand to his throat. "Jonah... it's..." He gurgles for a moment before unable to hold back and laughs. "Just had to. I believe this font still retains curative waters, if we empty some vials or waterskins we could reserve your restorative magics. Seems to be enough to rip off a Jorasco thrice..."
"So do we want to stop here and rest since it seems a pretty safe place, or go on a bit and fall back when we choose to call it a day?" Akasha asks the others.
"We have lost one of our one already... that being said, I am no worse for wear. I am willing to press on since we know we have this place to fall back upon."
"The cleric is right, if you wish to keep her body safe from scavengers this is the best place. That is if you wish to take the time to remove her from the rocks and move her again..."
Zad leads you out of the apothecary and back towards the Cracked Mirror. He remains quiet, watching you out of the corner of his eye for awhile. It seems like the trip back is much more straight forward and far faster. Finally, when the tavern is in sight once more the changeling speaks up and quietly asks you, "Are you alright?"
Glumly walking back to deliver whatever it was that they had been sent for in the first place Syksy stays locked into his thoughts before he finally notices his companion asking him something. "I don't know... no, not really. She knew more about me than I did, which isn't saying much, but she also knew more than other people, which is saying a lot. But I doubt she would have told me anything if I asked. And to be told Akasha isn't the answer I'm seeking or has the answers... I have a contract..." he says as he lets his head hang.
Moving Tava is a little time consuming but easy enough to accomplish. Once that is done, the group finds themselves standing back in front of the locked door.
Syksy:
"I am not completely convinced that Aurora even understands what she sees and hears, but does her best to convey what she can when she can. What will you do, if she does not have the answers that you are seeking?"
"Aurora seemed convinced that you had at least found the right person, only that she was not going to have what you are seeking. Do you think that you'll find another who has those answers, then?" Zad stops outside of the Cracked Mirror's door and turns to look at you as he speaks. [/b]
Syksy throws his arms out. "I don't see she can be who I'm looking for and not have any answers. Someone has them, and I'll keep looking till I find them or drop dead. It's all I have."
Assuming Xanaphia was the lady that hired them Syksy bows in thanks to the Changeling before heading for the door. Stopping halfway through the entranceway he turns to the man. "Thank you, for your assistance and company tonight."
"It has been my pleasure." Zad disappears into the back and a few moments later returns with the elven woman who sent you to fetch the items. She smiles at you and says, "You have returned, excllent."
Silian inches the book closer and closer but nothing happens, finally he places the book against the symbol on the door... but still nothing happens!
Nodding as the woman eneters Syksy holds out the bundle they retrieved. "And we got what you sent us for, is there anywhere you'd like me to place it?"
"That or we have the other Cannith product use itself as a battering ram." Silian says looking to the warforged. He looks back to the book and opens it, "Mayhaps there is a word to speak..."
Akasha studies the door looking for any sign of a mechanism or switch.
Perception:1d20 ⇒ 1
Shrugging she steps forward, placing both hands on the door and closing her eyes, allowing her innate gift for using devices fueled by magic to seek a means of opening the door.
"I will take it, thank you." Xanaphia extends her hands to accept the package. Do you offer her bracelet back to her?"And did Aurora have any enlightenment for you?"
Akasha:
You can tell that there is an arcane lock spell in place, but also a superior physical lock which would require a very high level of skill to surpass DC 40.
Opening her eues the magus takes a deep breath. "There's an arcane lock on the door as well as a top of the line physical lock. The kind that would require a hell of a lot of skill to open.""She says with a sigh.
Thanks! Yeah I have put a lot of time into her, she's very fleshed out in my head. If you are worried about the investigator class I can change her to a rogue with the investigator archetype, but I do feel inclined to mention Investigator is one of the ACG classes that is combat weak, so I doubt it will feel overpowered like a well played magus or summoner.
I spoke to one of the other players about the matter as well, and he's seen your post. He agrees that we would prefer rouge with the investigator archetype, if you are willing to make those changes. Thank you.
I think I fixed the spoiler blocks for my character.
DM Twilight:
Admittedly I have a perfect idea of her personality in my head...now I have to figure out how to describe it. She seems to be kind of disconnected from other people which comes from being ostracized as she was in Valenar. Being inundated with stories of noble heroes that she felt she could never life up to she just gave up on trying to be 'noble' and she thinks that people who do are easily manipulated idiots. As far as problem solving goes she knows what she's good at and tends not to deviate far from it because she's utterly convinced that her way is the right way to go about things. At this point it mostly surmounts to "If I can't manipulate it, I'll just freeze it and decide on whether or not to shatter it."
Shame, I really liked the class. Aeyra's fluff should not change at all, only her crunch. Do you care if I simply leave her as is until character selection, then I could update her to a rogue is she's chosen? Different DM's are more or less picky about seeing specific crunch before character selection.
I'm torn between a Valenar elf ranger or oracle of the ancestors. One question: Would you consider this following change (from the Races of Eberron book)?
Valenar Elf Traits wrote:
Elves from Valenar receive the Martial Weapon Proficiency feats for the shortbow (including composite shortbow), scimitar, and Valenar double scimitar. For Valenar elves, this trait replaces the elf weapon proficiency racial trait described in the Player’s Handbook.
Weapons of Valenar: Elves with this racial trait are proficient with scimitars, falchions, longbows (including composite longbows) and shortbows (including composite shortbows). They treat double scimitars, as well as any ranged weapon with "elven" in its name, as martial weapons. This racial trait replaces Weapon Familiarity.
OK, I think it's about time to wrap this up. Thank you all for your time and creative energy! As well, thank you for your patience with me. The following are those that have been chosen:
Blaze
Akasha
Aeyra
Lianna
For those of you who have been chosen, please be sure to make any last purchase such as identification papers or travel goods that you might need. Make any final changes to your character, make sure everything is accurate. Aeyra, please go ahead and make your conversion to rogue.
It will most likely be tomorrow that I make the initial post for the game, at which point I will send each of you a message with the link. It might be tonight, but that's unlikely as I have a pretty full day today.
For those of you who were not chosen, thank you for taking the time to apply. There were some really excellent submissions. Should something occur where we loose a player, I will come back to this thread to look for replacements.
Thanks, Akasha. You'll roll for your starting wealth, Lianna, and that is based on your class. You can find a chart here.
Also I just woke up about 20 minutes or so ago. I'll be working on the opening thread in an hour or so after I dump enough caffeine into my system to feel coherent.
It appears we have lost our warforged cleric and would like to replace him. We'll make a final selection no later than Saturday night. If anyone is interested, please submit a character here! If you've already submitted a character, tell me your still interested and I'll review your submission.
I am looking for 2-4 more players for an Eberron module (Fallen Angel) that I will be starting in the next couple of days. I currently have two male characters lined up, and would like to see at least one female character in the mix. I have a druid and a fighter. I need an arcane and/or divine caster. Please be familiar with the Eberron setting, races, and rules before applying. Thank you!
This will be with Pathfinder as the base rules. Roll stats, 4d6 drop the lowest, 7 times drop the lowest set. Roll for wealth based on class. Starting level 1.
Note: I am new to DMing so I will require patience and may make a few mistakes :)
Hi I am interested in joining and need some tips on how to make a character I was thinking a dwarven barbarian or fighter I would like to join as soon as I can but I am new to this whole site and unfamiliar with how it works
Hey Bosramir, sorry I hadn't checked the thread yesterday. Someone was chosen to fill that particular position, but I am always accepting applications in case we loose someone else or decide we need a bigger group. What questions can I answer for you? With this site in particular, you in order to create a new alias for your character (unless you want to use Bosramir as the character) you would click on "My Account" and scroll down to the box that lists your aliases. Click on Create a New Alias, and then fill in the name, choose a picture etc. If you are keeping this as your alias, you would click on your name and then click "edit profile". There are several fields that have specific purposes, such as race and age, and then one large field for a description. Fill in those things that are named in the specific fields there, and then everything else in the large description field. Beneath the text boxes, and beneath the "preview" and "submit" buttons is a box that says "How to format your text". That will show you how to create "spoilers" so that you can separate out blocks of text, with specific headings so that once you submit, everything will be hidden behind it's own spoiler button. That is, of course optional, but preferred. Does this clear up your questions?
I am disappointed that the position has been filled but if you need some one new I would be more hen happy to jump into the game. Yes that did help clear up some questions I had and will be looking to edit my character for future games. Please keep me in mind for up coming games!!!
We are currently looking to fill a slot, we are looking specifically for a Warforged character. We lost our Warforged early on, and although he was replaced with a different character, some of the group and I thought it would be really nice to have a Warforged in the group.
If anyone wants to make a submission for a Warforged, Pathfinder rules in an Eberron setting please post your character here.
I've got this guy that I could rebuild first level and tweak his background. He would be the perfect fit style-wise since he is a warforged cleric. I am a huge fan of Eberron and have read all of the books.

He is built as an evangelist cleric of Olladra. He has inspire courage and can stand his own in melee as well as buff his companions through bless and performance.
Let me know if this works with the group and I will rewrite his background to put him where he needs to be. He is neutral and trying to find his place in the world. His default mode is service to the group he has been assigned to.
I read a lot of the game play thread. I could also roll a warforged rogue or archaeologist bard character if the party would rather have a scout and is willing to work with stats.
I'll rewrite his background as if something went terribly wrong in the forge due to tampering with the process. Demise had been created in the "caster forge". This time though the men experimented with adding necromance forms of magic including a scorpion as a spell component. The result was a black warforged creature with red glowing eyes. His head resembled a skull.
@Dreaming Warforged we're using the Tzizimine conversion.
I'll go ahead and write this here so that others can see it too: I will allow you to reroll your stats once, if you choose to reroll, you must take the second set, even if it's worse.
I think that I will put together a Warforged Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Internal Alchemist/Vivisectionist, so that he can do *some* healing) :-)
Because I'm new as a DM and Eberron I'm going to ask that you narrow down your class a bit more and not use more than one archetype so as to make things more simple for me! Have mercy!
I'm an old hand at eberron, if your party if looking for something in particular I can build to that. Otherwise I'm up for building either a fighter or magus.
Can anyone tell me where a conversion to pathfinder is?
