Subtracting 10gp for rations and 50gp for a cold iron weapon blanch (blanching my remaining 9 regular arrows, replacing the silver blanch already on them). We can assume either that I asked Kay last minute or just grabbed them myself from somewhere. Can we find a blacksmith to do the work while we're away? Am I right in assuming the 582 on the treasure sheet is the final amount for the party divvy?Should be around later tonight to make a real post,
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
GM_Euan
A blacksmith will be available, but not for a few days. Should be able to finish the job before your return though.
The 582 might go up if the party decides to sell the Bead of Force. I'm assuming the party is going to sell it, but someone might want it. VERY expensive for a one use item.

GM Evilan has kindly allowed me to alter some actions for the past week. Editing for those changes now.

Am I on the roof with Derwyn, or was I stopped by the barred door? If I was only able to double move then I'd have switch to my sword once reaching the roof, provided that Derwyn is still up there and without assistance. Pending your approval that Ederin could assess the Akata's climb speed of course.
GM_Euan
Derwyn is on the top floor. The map doesn't show the roof. He closed and barred the door, then cast mage armor. He's about to come back down (next round) so as not to be alone.
But yeah, you'd have been stopped by the barred door prior to the roof. Sorry for the confusion. It would have been nice to have a roof on the map. :)
Dimitrio Carini
Ok, I'm confused. :)
I thought we were going to the lighthouse?
And were going to make it before dark. I remember Dimitrio saying he did not want to spend the night 'under the stars'.
Kaylayne the Undone
Apparently, we took the slow route and didn't get there before night fell. Kay preferred to be on our own too, but we decided to help Sam.
GM_Euan
You are not going to the lighthouse, the party went the other way toward Zincher's camp.
I cautioned that the trail along the coast was difficult terrain and would take much longer, but the party went that way for the safety aspect - avoiding the great cats. :)
So here you are. Not quite to Zincher's and in the dark. I'm fine if you want to camp at the foot of the cliffs rather than at the top too. Easily done.
GM_Euan
Just a heads up - I will be traveling for the holidays which means my posting might become a little erratic. I should still have time in the morning to post, but later day posts might fall by the way-side for a week or so.
Dimitrio Carini
Well you have been to a, b, e, and part of d. Though you could spend days searching d for sky metal.
Which means that c and f are unexplored. I think f is closest. There seems to be road hugging the southern shoreline; do our PCs know this? If so, we should head straight south to the road and then head east towards f. I'll let others chime in before I have Dimitrio offer his opinion.
Game on!

Just checking in. Away from home and the internet is not as reliable as I expected. I'll be back Sunday but there's been an unexpected death in the family while we were away so it'll probably be a couple more days before I resume a regular posting schedule.
Hope you're all enjoying the holidays.
GM_Euan
Sorry to hear about the death - do what you need and I'll DMPC you as needed. I don't expect a lot of movement over the weekend so you should be fine. :)
I myself won't be back until Tuesday on regular posting.
GM_Euan
OK, I'm stranded in Chicago. :(
There's a combat coming up, and I'm going to try and run it, but if there are long delays it's just 'cause life is going sideways for a few more days.
Multiple airplane cancellations resulted in a lovely 11 hours in the airport yesterday, a shitty hotel last night, and no flights home until Thursday or Friday... But I'll do what I can.
Dimitrio Carini
@Euan: Sorry to hear that bud; flying is getting to be more of a hassle each day.
Is there a save for the Con loss? Sometimes there is..../me asks hopefully.
I think it missed. Isn't your touch AC higher than 11?
Kaylayne the Undone
Ah, Piddlespot!! Sorry to hear that, Evilan.
I have a brother in Dayton. I now know why I don't visit him more often.

OK folks! Please level up. I think you're going to level 5.
First Synopsis - 1 Erastus, 4709 AR
Second Synopsis - 2 Erastus, 4709 AR
Third Synopsis - 19 Erastus, 4709 AR
31 Erastus, 4709 AR
- The party loots Saul and Depora and begins to investigate the Gold Goblin and it’s underground lair.
- They discuss what to do next and seem to be leaning toward taking over for Saul in every way - or nearly so.
1 Arodus, 4709 AR
- The party is awakened to a hail storm of seemingly volcanic rock.
- The sun barely peeks out over the horizon when a terrible thundering meteor strikes near Riddleport.
- The Gold Goblin becomes an infirmary and local focal point for the neighborhood to gather and share stories and get help.
2 Arodus, 4709
- The party decides to keep and run the Gold Goblin.
- Kaylayne does some shopping while Lief and Ederin tell their tale to the overlord Cromarcky himself.
3-6 Arodus, 4709
- Kwava returns and lets the party know his troubles.
- The party helps those in need and generally stays out of trouble while they wait for a ship to take them to the island.
7-8 Arodus, 4709
- Kwava lets the party know it’ll be another couple days until the ship is in port.
- Samaritha is gone on a mission for the Cyphermages and misses Lief’s appointment.
9 Arodus, 4709
- The Flying Cloud reaches port, and agrees to take the party on a trip the next day (after unloading their more precious cargo).
- Lief and others tell their tale to Gethin, the Cyphermage scribe - revealing the drow for the first time in public.
- The party attends a very excellent dinner party on board the Flying Cloud.
10 Arodus, 4709
- The party is off to an early start as they climb aboard their ship and head out to sea.
- A mere five hours later they put into dock only to meet Gravin Goldhammer trying to get off the island!
- Gravin and his team leave as the party presses onward. They have a quick fight with some strange tentacled creatures before reaching the wizards in the main village.
- The wizards are in a bad way to be sure, and it is made worse as the akatas attack and the tower rolls into the sea. Still, things are learned about the akatas and the party presses on.
- The zombies too are no match as the party closes in on dusk, they climb to the top to rest for the night.
11 Arodus, 4709
- The party walks the short distance to Clegg Zincher’s camp and has a meeting with the man.
- Things seem to go sideways as he’s caught in a fib, and doesn’t even seem all that angry about it when Lief insults him. Odd.
- The eastern lighthouse is investigated, and it’s resident is found soon after in the forest, and dispatched. I wonder who that could be?

Couple questions.
We picked up the +1 longsword at F yes? And Zinchers Camp is at E? Is it possible I could have detoured to pick up a few arrows on the way across the Island to C after the fight with the wraith or were we attacked too far from that camp?
GM_Euan
Sure I'll allow that.
You deal with Akron as Zincher is 'unavailable'. He is very open to the idea of helping you out. He asks for Noqual as payment initially, but when it is clear you have none (or at least won't share any), he'll settle for gold. He'll sell you 10 normal arrows for 5gp. He has three bundles if you wish to buy all three, that's 15gp.
Ederin Valenta
Sorry about being lax on the treasure sheet, not that things have calmed down I should be able to keep up with it.
How much is 1lb of noqual worth?
GM_Euan
50gp in Riddleport, though Zincher was offering more. Best to stick to the 50gp for now.
And no worries on the laxation. The holidays gripped us all!
Dimitrio Carini
Let me know if that changes your request Dimitrio.
Then scratch what Dimitrio said about coming over every day. But if Sam can hire a ship and let us know then that would still be preferable to spending nine days on the island.
Would a ship be able to signal us? Start a bonfire or something?
Would we see it if it sailed around the island?
I don't know, just trying to figure out a way not to spend nine days here.
Ederin Valenta
This recent adventure has been like an awkward family camping trip. I'm just waiting for the hilarious and/or dangerous situation that brings us all together again.
Kaylayne the Undone
And I agree, loot's no good if we're dead. :)
The question that burns my noodle is wondering if the loot was left explicitly for this fight or how other parties might have dealt with this fight: darkness-blinded and pounce-touch attacked are no ways to get through life, son.

Maybe we have a benevolent GM who's interested in a good story and not killing the entire party. :)
Shhhs, don't let him know. :)
Seriously though, we do need to talk tactics after we survive this fight (hopefully); darkness is nasty for our party in particular.
Game on!
Ederin Valenta
Yeah, my tactic is no longer taking point in caves. So far I'm 2/2 on blindly stumbling into unconfirmed crits from enemies while in a cave (sounds like an obscure NFL statistic). Eventually those crits are going to confirm.
I'm also fine with the loot use. That's why we have it after all.
GM_Euan
Wimps! Why back in my day, deeper darkness casting, not-undead incorporeal, cold iron DR protected villains were a dime a dozen and easy for a well planned party to overcome!
Oh and of course you don't face it alone. You do so with drow of all things sniping at you!
Hrumph. Kids today...
- - -
When I first read this bit I thought, OK, there's a TPK. So the fight has already been reduced, and the monster in the AP is weaker than it's pathfinder counterpart. Normally I use the more powerful of the two, but this is a weird edge case.
Still a challenge I think as I didn't reduce much, and you're not clear of it yet!

You know what's pissing me off the most is the drow poison. We have to find a way to deal with that more effectively.
Thoughts? (or we can discuss IC later)
GM_Euan
Yeah, I'd like that too. I've already weakened it AP wide, but it's aggravating to remove a player from the campaign for a full minute in combat. That's often days of silence and watching. :(
Do not like...
But yeah, I suggest having that conversation in character. ;)
Dimitrio Carini
So we want to search/loot every room in which we fought in. Have we done that? Will we have time or do you have a 'surprise' for us?
Layne, Dimitrio asked for healing (for everyone), are you going to use the wand?
GM_Euan
When there is time, I assume a take-10 search of each room/chamber/hallway/etc. you pass through. I'll let you know when there's obvious stuff as well.
That said, there are currently other things going on, so I'm keeping you on the clock for now. I'll let you know what's been searched as we go. :)
Kaylayne the Undone
Layne, Dimitrio asked for healing (for everyone), are you going to use the wand?
Might want to ask her again, she was too busy b#+**ing you guys out for not listening to her to respond. ;)
She does have a wand, but only 4 charges on it. I think Gar or Ed have the fuller wands...or do you have it?
Dimitrio Carini
@Layne: Dimitrio only has a CLW and a CMW potion, no wand.
@Euan: are you Ok with us taking 20 on perception to search places (provided we have time of course)?
Ederin Valenta
GM: Are they chain shirts, or chain mail?
Dimitrio I missed your post, you can go ahead and take the last chain shirt since you're more likely to need it.
GM_Euan
Masterwork chain shirts. So yeah, I was wrong on the donning time. It's 1 minute, not 4. Half that with help.
So you could don the shirts in the second minute (the first was used searching, healing a bit, etc.)
Also, you can always take-20 on a search - provided you have the time to do it. Just remember it's 2 minutes for a 10x10 space so it takes a while to search a larger chamber. You can always focus on obvious landmarks of course.
