Liam charged his whip with some more arcane energy as he whipped the lion in front of him, maintaining his defensive posture.

Whip attack (FD & CE): 1d20 + 12 - 4 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 12 - 4 - 1 = 21

He then ducks, dodges and rolls away from the lion, trying to get out of reach of its claws.

Liam, takes the magic flowing within him and charges his whip. He lashes out at the lion, connecting with its ribs. He manages to get the lion, very well, inflicting a grievous wound. The lion slumps to the ground. Liam than ducks out of the way of the lion on Balthe, not wanting to be a target.

Unfortunately, this leaves only Balthe as a target for the hungry, hungry, lion. All the fury of the lion, ends in all missing the tasty meal.

Nils, takes the opportunity to get into position to make a solid hit, which he does. His sword, slashes the lions throat, blood spilling over Blathe. The lion is very much dead, and Blathe is very much messy.

"You got a sharp eye Balthe, but those lions had sharp claws. Maybe this will help."

Liam spoke a few arcane words making his hand glow with a pleasant blue light. He touched the gashes on Balthe's abdomen transferring the light to them in the process. As the light dissipated, Balthe's wounds slowly closed.

After the last lion dies Wulfgar lowers his sword, waving to the team. he says

come, come, gatherink in cirrrrcle, Da; let me show you trick, learned to me by Old Zhrets

Once everyone injured has gathered around at least within 30 ft. he flings his long greasy hair back, and putting his left hand over his left eye. He starts to stare with his right eye. It turns from being rheumy shades of black and gray; becoming clear, like a snow globe no one has shaken; Instead of a house, or reindeer or a snowman, it is a mountainous stone encasing a greatsword. As Wulfgar looks at each injured person, not taking his hand off of his left eye, they begin to feel rejuvenated.

Liam takes another crack at the amulet, he realizes it to be an amulet if natural armor +1

Wulfgar, Nils, and GowWabber work together to breakdown the lions into useable functions. Wulfgar makes a couple bedrolls with their fur and manes. Also a couple more waterskins, perhaps not the best option but as Nils pointed out "game is game".

The group travels south by southeast. After about a half days travel, the scent of the ocean water fills their nostrils. The weather is calm...for now. The sun peeks from behind the clouds intermittently. The plains, is eerily quiet. The ferocious beats from before; vultures, lions, wolves seem non-existent.

The lack of wildlife is concerning no doubt, but the survivalists press on. Day fades to the evening, and they reach a cliff overlooking the beautiful ocean before you. It's waves crash upon the shore, gulls circle overhead. The sun begins to set on the day.

Nils and GowWabber notice a small cave opening in the cliff face. Getting there is a minor challenge, as there is no easy access point. The cliff seems like it has enough hand holds to allow a free climb if one was daring enough, but one slip and the climber would fall 40 feet to the jagged rocks below.

Posting my action already as I'm uncertain whether I'll be online later today.

(with a +9 climb, using a rope against a wall, he can't fail).

There is nothing to tie the end of the rope to. One person will have to hold it while the others descend.

Who is holding (aka going to free climb). Gow, how far is the birdy going to go in?

If that is the case Balthe should probably be the holder since he has the best climb ability. He can't actually fail a check enough to fall with his +12.

Okay, simple enough. Now I am just waiting on Gow's response to birdy :)

out of curiosity could we use Wulfgars crowbar as a stake and tie the rope to it? It may be more handy later but just a thought

Wulfgar stands at the edge of the cliff, eyes closed head back enjoying the smell of the sea. Since Gow-Wabber provided a rope, Wulfgar saves his and waits patiently for everyone to be ready. When its time he say

Birdy will fly in enough to see the back wall of the cave, but cautiously. If he sees a potential threat, he'll immediately return to Gow. With the roll I made from earlier, he can see 310ft away minus lighting/other environmental penalties. Of course, if something is Stealthed, that means nothing. ;-)

Gow, sends his birdy friend, down into the cave. The cave goes back around 30 feet, before taking a right hand turn and starts to take a gradual descending slope.

The mighty, and powerful Wulfgar goes first. The line, holds strong and everyone else is able to make it down safely. GowWabber gets his rope back, and Balthe then takes his turn at the cliff face. He easily makes his way down, and joins everyone in the mouth of the cave.

The group, knows that the cave travels about 30 feet back, then takes a gradual sloping descent to the right. Birdy didn't sense any other creatures in the cave, so they are hoping they are the only ones currently there.

Wulfgar sees his hand, but that is about it.

Wulfgar casts light on his sword, so he can clearly see his hand now, and waiting for the team to arrive asks

At the bottom of the slope, Nils peeks around the corner, and sees another descending slope. The slope goes beyond what Wulfgar's light spell allows his eyes to see. He does see a figure, lying face down on the ground, about 25 feet down this slope, is a humanoid figure in a black cloak.

Nils, Wulfgar and Balthe go to examine the body down the corridor. The body is wearing a black robe, with no embroidery adn is quite simple. Nils notices a tattoo on back of the hand, similar to the one on the dead man from the plains the day before. The only difference this tattoo is whole and not mangled. The tattoo is of the long dead god, Aroden.

Wulfgar flips the man over, and his face is badly burned and scarred. He notices the man has a pouch hidden on the inner lining of his robe. He grabs the pouch, and he can tell there is some weight to it, but it doesn't jingle the way a coin pouch would.

Upon opening the pouch, he sees a sapphire sphere. Nothing stands out as special or unique.

Blathe takes a look at the sphere, he takes a look at it through the light provided by Wulfgar's lighted sword. He can see that in the center of the sphere, there is an inscription or "design". The design is of the astrological sign "aquarius".

The group can see that the path they are currently on, travels another 30 feet down, and takes another gentle bend to the right.
