Balthe Synder |

seems like it should be far more than a -4, since she is pinned. not that it matters in this case.
move to maintain grapple
Grapple: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 Balthe moves and pins her arms to her side, so her hands cannot reach him.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 - 2 = 30 for 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Balthe knees her in the kidneys. non lethal
to confirm Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 - 2 = 30 for 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Wulfgar looks at the way the limp wizard is breathing, his right eye still focused as it is when he is in combat, shaking his head he strikes the woman with the flat of his blade.
non lethal damage/attack,
greatsword, non-leathal attack: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 12 - 4 = 11 for damage: 3d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 2, 5) + 16 = 29
Wulfgar looks at Balthe and says
I am thinkink she was fakink, comrrrrade

DM Stylz |

Wulfgar notices that she is not as limp as some should be when truly unconscious and decides to take the matter into his own handWulfar swings his blade, in such a manner to not truly kill the sorceress. The flat of his blade, crushes down upon the helpless woman.
This time, the woman goes limp, Wulfgar kicks her and she is "dead weight" as it were, there is no doubt this time that she is 100% out cold.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Wulfgar smiles while unshouldering his pack and removing his hemp rope.
Da comrrrrade Balthe I am havink rope, good idea tacklink witch, Guards no challengink at all corrrrrect comrrrrade Nils
once the prisoner is secured and stripped of any useful gear Wulfgar's right eye becomes clearly an image of a greatsword in stone and he casts positive energy to heal his comrades wounds
I'm assuming this will heal/awaken the prisoner, thus the "secured" first, looks like maximum damage was 17
healing: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) = 11
looking around at everyone's wounds he prays again
healing: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3) = 10
satisfied with the results he unsaddles the horses and begins to organized the loot; thus leaving the interrogation to his team mates.
I assume we also have the three horses?

Liam Kindall |

Contrary to popular belief, cheliax does not have its own language. They use Taldane (otherwise known as common). Liam knows common, undercommon and infernal (picked the last one due to cheliax' link with devils). If Chelish was a language I would have probably taken that instead.
Liam will help Wulfgar with sorting out the magical gear.
He casts read magic to discern the writings on the scroll and then proceed to cast detect magic and look over the items they had found.
Spellcraft (bracers): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Spellcraft (amulet): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Spellcraft (cloak): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Spellcraft (blue potion): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Spellcraft (orange potion): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Did we still have an unidentified item among our other loot? Might as well look at that again while I'm at it :)

DM Stylz |

Hmm, I figured Cheliax would have had their own language, oh well. You can read the note than since it is part common and part "devil"
Liam identified the bracers as bracers of armor +1; the cloak is a cloak resistance +1; orange potion is haste.
The note, when opened reads:
Stop the Aroden Ascension at ALL COSTS!! Four spheres hold the key, obtain them then contact me and we will proceed with phase two of Chelish Dominance.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
When Wulfgar finds the manacles he waves them about smiling, his right eye twitching, and asks
shall we be puttink her in these? I am wonderink comrrrrades?
did the channel energy wake her up?
Wulfgar will busy himself setting up a picket line for the horses, starting a fire and doing general campy things; staying close enough to listen to the conversations and attempting to detect if the prisoner is telling the truth or not.
sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Liam Kindall |

Aroden Ascension, Chelish Dominance. What mess did we end up in?
Wulfgar's comment shook Liam from his pondering. He looked at the manacles and then at the woman.
"Sounds like a plan, should stop her from casting most of her spells."
When he finished looking over the items, he clasped the cloak around his shoulders and tossed the bracers to Balthe. "I think you can use these. Will help in a similar way as the amulet and ring." Unless anyone has a problem with this of course?
He held up the amulet and blue potion. "Can't seem to wrap my head around these two, will try them again tomorrow."

Balthe Synder |

Balthe smiles at her.
Next time maybe you should talk. Gets you further. I am just sad we aren't close enough tot he drink to toss you in it, maybe that shark is still about.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Wulfgar busy about the camp, hearing their guest's critique on her soldiers calls back over his shoulder as he sets up a tripod for the iron pot.
da, Koldun'ya, worrrrthless, I am thinkink, soldiers often reflectink leadership.
He then starts rummaging through the backpacks looking for any food, beverages (of an adult nature) and spices for he jerky.
cause lets face it plain jerky is really boring

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Wulfgar continues rummaging through the backpacks, one at a time, as the sorceress mocks his comrades and then asks what they want he turns and looks at her with his left eye, his right eye rolls up into his head, he looks up, placing his hand under his chin, in deep concentration and answers
vodka, Koldun'ya we are wantink vodka, if not available I am thinkink rum, da vodka orrrr rum. Is that reason you were followink us Koldun'ya? You are Waitrrrress wanting to take our order? I am thinkink not.
Wulfgar forgetting about the packs and their contents, walks over to the prisoner, standing over her; near enough to verify her earlier insult, that he does indeed need a bath. Both eyes glaring he scowls and continues
You are wantink stone we are havink, maybe you are hidink stone yourself, Koldun'ya. Maybe we should be searchink you better, lookink in all the nooks and crrrrannies for stone. what say you comrrrrades
sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Balthe Synder |

It seems to me luck is irrelevant. We beat the crap out of you and killed your guards. Perhaps tomorrow you will beat us but sadly for you we fought today. Perhaps if you were less arrogant you would not be mancled and our prisoner.

Gwendolyn Pierce |

low: 1d100 ⇒ 46
Gwen spits in Wulfgar's face, and doesn't show a moment of remorse or fear.
Hmph, I may be a prisoner now. Hell, you can even kill me, but I will have the last laugh from beyond the grave. My employers will send others to find you. You will not stop our mission!
She goes silent after her last words. She closes her eyes, and sits quietly.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Wulfgar wipes the spit off of his face with the palm of his hand and roughly wipes it on the prisoners cheek. He then goes back to organizing the camp.
hopefully Wulfgar did not screw up any conversing anyone else wanted to have with the prisoner, what now? post a watch and go to bed, Talk to the prisoner, whats next? If this was "way of the wicked" murder or torture or a cavity search would be in order; but it's not so I'm assuming they're not.

Balthe Synder |

Balthe picks Her up and moves her away from Wulfgar and drops her on the ground from high up
[b] Oops. Don't you know spitting it rude]/b]

Liam Kindall |

Liam walked over to the prisoner and knocked her out. I'm assuming a non-lethal coup de grace should knock her out ...
He looked at the others.
"We can still decide what we're going to do with her once we're done eating, but Nils is right. If she's not going to talk, we might as well kill her. No use dragging her around and feeding her. I'm quite certain she wouldn't have shown much mercy either."
He sat down and takes a look at the yellow sphere.
Does it have the same general shape as the sapphire sphere we found earlier? I ask this because I plan on using Locate Object to see if I can find the red or green sphere is somewhere within 640 ft of us. Although I'm not entirely certain if that will really help, but a man can try I suppose. :)

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
can Wulfgar tell is she is out or not?
heal, check to see if conscious: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
sence motive, check to see if faking: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
don’t arcane users rebuild energy when they sleep?
Wulfgar , stirring the soup in the iron pot, looking at the team with his left eye, his right gently twitching, points at the team with the large wooden spoon he is using to stir.
I know little of the Koldun'ya, but do they not rrrregain “power” when they are restink, maybe wakink her every so often is good idea da? As for the inforrrrmation givink, she had told us morrrre than she is realizink. Larrrrge group, well-funded, committed. Since we are not knowink exactly who they are the more informink the better da, comrrrrades? Also without knowink who they are, is killink their Rrrrepresentative wise?
a little off topic, any food in the packs?

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
wulfgar spoons some soup into his bowl and goes and sits around the fire with his comrades, a look of consternation on his face. After a few bites of soup he appears to relax a little, and says.
Shipwrrrrecked on an island are we. Comrrrrades, no way off, no frrrriends but ourselves. We are havink no interest in her affairs or the affairs of those who are apposink her, who she appearrs to be mistakink us forrrr. We are not her enemies, also we may not be wantink her employerrs as our enemies. If we are killink her that will definitely be happenink.
looking directly at Nils, he takes another bite of soup and asks
Why be killink her now, she will slowly be providink us with inforrrrmation, we can use her as leverrrage or be killink her after we are learnink who and what we are up against.
waving his spoon, looking at the team again
or which side we will be joinink, da?

Balthe Synder |

I certainly don't like her...but killing her seems...distasteful. We should operate with some kind of law. Not sure what that should be thoigh...
Balthe says while he helps hinself to some stew

DM Stylz |

He sat down and takes a look at the yellow sphere.
Does it have the same general shape as the sapphire sphere we found earlier? I ask this because I plan on using Locate Object to see if I can find the red or green sphere is somewhere within 640 ft of us. Although I'm not entirely certain if that will really help, but a man can try I suppose. :)
Yes, same shape and smooth as a bald head. Inside the yellow stone, you can see a faint image of the general shape of "grain" like that a farmer harvests.
Base caster means 400+120=520. But that presumes it is by a base scroll XD. Just let me know if you cast it or not :)
To kill or not to kill Gwen. You have her shackled as well as tied up via the rope. What hex do you wish to explore next, from your current spot you could go 4, 7, or 8.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Had we decided to crash for the night?
During Wulfgars watch he will awaken the prisoner and not let her sleep so she will not be well rested, if she speaks to him he will ignore her. in the morning he will help pack up the gear into saddlebags. Keeping the javelins (x6), climbers kit and healers kit in his pack.
Comrrrrades who will be ridink the horses? Not the Koldun'ya I am assumink

Liam Kindall |

I can cast the spell myself, so that's why I stated 640 ft. How big is one hex again in diameter?
If we plan to rest for the night I will cast the spell twice, once for each color we're still missing. Unless the spells will tell me otherwise I would suggest hex 4. Could you maybe mark the hex in which we found the cave for later reference?
Before getting ready for bed, Liam takes rips some cloth from the clothes of the guards and makes certain the prisoner was gagged. He turned to the others. "Can't be certain she doesn't have any spells she could cast without having to use her hands."

Balthe Synder |

Perhaps we just keep her knocked out.
Balthe frowns at the logistics of it all
I will walk. he is prepared to follow Liam's lead

DM Stylz |

I am using the map as an abstract of distance, since I a simply stating that to explore 1 hex = 1 day. I will say that your spell, covers 1 hex in each direction. If you cast now, you cover hexes 1/2/4/7/8
rain% 1-10: 1d100 ⇒ 1
lightning chance 1-2: 1d100 ⇒ 19
The night goes by uneventful as far as disturbance goes from wildlife or other hostile visitors. Before Liam beds down for the night, he focuses on the spheres he had found today and just days ago. He has the blue one, securely in the cavern door. The only ones missing are the green and red sphere. He casts a divination spell, hoping to pinpoint the location of one of them. Nothing comes to him, he wonders where they may be.
After Liam goes to bed, Mother Nature however has different ideas. About 8pm, Nils and Wulfgar feel a few drops of rain. Nothing big at first. Then by 10pm, when Nils is on his first watch, the heavens open up and drench the land, including the group perched upon it.
fort saves please, if wearing a "cold weather" outfit, you get a +5 circumstance bonus. Marked the cave in purple. Green hexes you have visited. The "star" symbol is where Liam got the sense of there being another sphere.

Liam Kindall |

Never decided who, if anyone put on the cold-weather pelts. I think some of us might do so after this night ;) is the * symbol the location the area in which we started our journey? And I assume I'll get a sense there is something there if I would cast the locate object spell again once we're in area 4? (which seems to be where we are going after the rainy night)
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

DM Stylz |

me: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Perception
Balthe: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Liam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Nils: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Wulfgar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Even despite the rains flooding down on the plains, nobody seems to be worse for wear, not even the sorceress.
The group decides to press onwards, after ringing their clothes out after getting soaked. They travel westwards, and early morning gives way to the early afternoon. The sun comes out a feels great, especially after the hard night of rain.
About midday, Nils while scanning the landscape for any predators or potential threats, sees a disturbance in the grassland up ahead about 60' from his current position.

Balthe Synder |

Seems like everything in this place wants to kill us. Might as well be ready.
Balthe activates his barkskin and looks ahead to his companions for the word to move ahead

DM Stylz |

The grass ahead looks like it has been disturbed and put back very well, but Nils sees that something just isn't right. Balthe gets ready for all hell to break loose, and when given the go ahead go to investigate the tuft of grass. He soon realizes that the grass, appears to be hiding a door of some sort. He waits for everyone, then does his best to open it, but it just won't budge.
strength DC 25 or Disable DC 25

Nils the Roamer |

Hmm, did we lose our disable device person?
Nils will give it a try.
strength check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Hmm, must not have gotten my footing right.
"Think we'll need to work together on this one. It's really stuck. "

Balthe Synder |

1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9 Balthe uses the crowbar and gives it go.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
A contest of strength, well if no one can we will do it as a team. IF
placing his pack on the ground Wulfgar removes his luck crowbar and attempts to pry the door open
strength check: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
as Wulfgar pulls on the crowbar he feels it might come with some help and he bellows
Bah, stupid door, someone grabbink cr[oor]rrr[/ooc]owbar and help!

DM Stylz |

Wulfgar gets his trusty crowbar, set a good base, does his best to wedge the door open. He can feel it start to bow and budge, but isn't strong enough. Then Nils comes over, and with some added leverage, he takes his boot and pushes down on the crowbar. The extra weight, is too much for the lock to withstand, it gives way to the party.
With the door open, and the noonday sun shining overhead, the party can see that there is a stone staircase leading downward. It is hard to tell how far down it currently goes, as there are landings that block direct line of sight to the bottom.
I will need to know a light source, and whom has it when going down. It will be pitch black down there :)
