Dire wolf: charge Wulfgar (AC -2)
Reg wolf 1: DEAD
Reg wolf 2: charge Balthe (AC -2)
Balthe: go (6 dam + prone)
Gow: go
Nils: made wolf goo
Liam: go
Wulfgar: go
Nils, angrier than a halfling in a Chelish home, takes his great club. With one...ONE mighty swing breaks the wolf's back, crushes more like it. The wolf crumples into a heap, at the crazed mans feet.
Balthe Synder
assuming I am not actually prone
Balthe knees and punches his wolf
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 10 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 - 2 - 1 = 20 for 1d8 + 4 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 9 = 15
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 10 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 10 - 2 - 1 = 21 for 1d8 + 4 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 9 = 20
Using power attack and combat expertise
Wulfgar Ivarsson
Wulfgars right eye joins the left coming clearly into focus, he lifts the greatsword off of his shoulder and begins to laugh
Bwa Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Wufgar steps forward and attacks the nearest wolf

went back and changed Wulfgars Init; into an attack
GowWabber
Nils looks over at the little gnome with some measure of contempt. "Dogs are pack animals, cats are not. Alpha refers to the leader of the pack. No pack, no leader, no alpha. And I don't east borscht. Fermented herring though, now that is good eats. Not a bad idea to have the bird scout ahead."
"Oh, that makes sense. But why isn't the phrase 'alpha wolf' - like those!" Gow points at the wolf pack but is a hair too late to warn his companions. He quickly sets about improving his defenses while Birdy extricates himself and flies onto his shoulder.
Standard: casting mage armor
Move: summon my familiar
Balthe Synder
this time my stat line saved accurately, note the +2 to my AC is from Combat Expertise. Also note I have combat reflexes.
Nils the Roamer
I was a touch confused. I assumed the dire wolf was on me, and used ranger focus on it. My numbers include that. However If we correctly apply the ranger focus to the dire wolf, but just subtract the 4 from attack and damage on my hit a normal wolf, it doesn't change anything and it is still taken out. Since I only have 2 a day of those, I reserve them for bosses.
DM Stylz
my trip was 24, so you are still prone. Even with the -4, you still hit with both attacks
Wulfgar takes a mighty hack at the Dire Wolf that nearly took a chunk of flesh from his thigh. His attack hits, and nearly cleaves the wolf in twain. Balthe, on his back kicks at the normal wolf that tripped him, connecting square with its ribs. He hears a sickening crunch, as a rib bone pierces a lung and the wolf collapses, breathing staggered. Balthe then kicks at the dire wolf, and again connects with the big wolf's face. He hears the snapping of facial bone as it skull is crushed. The big wolf caves inwards and falls down. The threat is over, and only a few wounds were caused.
COMBAT OVER
------------
The group assesses their wounds and surroundings. Rain continues to pour down, covering the wooded hill in water, but also allowing a fresh source of water to exist for the battle tested adventurers to refuel and survive on.
Entering the cave is all too easy now. It is a rough, natural cave. It measures approximately 35 by 20 feet. The stench of death is prominent. Towards the back of the cave is a body, or well part of one. Nearly all of the body has been eaten, expect for a torso. This is because the armor the man is wearing prevented the canine beats easy access to the meal. Lying next to the armored torso is a heavy wooden shield and a longsword in a scabbard.
Wulfgar Ivarsson
Wulfgar examines the carnage turning his head left to right, his right eye spinning again.
Bwa Ha Ha well strrrruck bouncer Balthe, pinch not barrrrmaid on your watch Ha Ha Ha
Then turning toward Nils, Wulfgar lifting his greatsword in his left hand, holding it up in victory and shaking it says
Comrade Nils, likink to see what you do with these in your hands
Once a fire is burning in the mouth of the cave, Wulfgar will skin the youngest of the wolves first, cutting a haunch off and putting it on a spit over the fire, he then cuts strips of meat from around it ribs and back and places those on a rock heating in the fire.
Comrade Gow-Wabber, rrrright you are, dog or wolf matters nyet, both good eatink
After a fine meal of roast wolf haunch, while talking with the party, Wulfgar will spend the early evening skinning the wolves to hopefully use their hides for shelter.
survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
what kind of armor was the corpse wearing and is it salvageable ?
DM Stylz
Wulfgar, takes a look at the wolves and tries to salvage what he can. He breaks one smaller wolf down, and begins cooking the meat from it. His skill with the knife is shaky at times and he manages to slip a coue times. The pelt isn't ruined, but won't fetch full price should he make it to a town. The good news however, the pelt is in good condition to be able to use to fend off the elements of the jungle.
tge pelt can be used as a cold weather outfit. The armor is usable, just slightly banged up
DM Stylz
Wulfgar skins and prepares the other two wolves. The smaller wolf is perfectly skinned and prepared. A wonderful and warm outfit is made from it. Unfortunately he butchers the fire wolf pelt. It gets holes and cuts and nothing from it can be salvaged.
2 cold outfits; 1 sellable & 1 okay. Armor was a chain shirt.
Wulfgar Ivarsson
Sorry, I totally missed that Balthe was injured, I would have included this in the earlier post.
Wulfgar approaches Balthe, both eyes strangely focused, his right eye, reflecting the symbol of his god, Gorum.
Bouncer fight well, maybe prrromote to boxer, Da? Now hold still, comrade.
he grab both of Balthe's thighs and squeezes causing excruciating pain, laughing riotously
Bwa ha ha Hurt this will Ha Ha Ha
casts cure light wounds1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
as the pain subsides Balthe realizes the wounds are now just pink scars, Wulfgar smile his right eye milky and twitching.
Lose one enlarge person, also if anyone needs coats please take one
Liam Kindall
"Well, that could've gone much worse. Glad to be with such capable fighters."
When Liam saw that Wulfgar wanted to skin the wolves, he went over to him and offered his assistance. He flicked one of the knives from his wrist sheath. "Mind if I help?"
Not certain if I can still aid another, to have more favorable results on the pelts, but here goes
Aid Another Survival Pelt 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Aid Another Survival Pelt 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

If succesfull, I give him a +3 on his check thanks to my trait :)
Wulfgar Ivarsson
can't hurt, right
Wulfgar, his sword laying beside him as he occasionally pushes his hair out of his face, he nods to the serious looking man who started to help him,
he doesn't look like he roughs it much, but i'm not turning down help
nyet, help good always, comrrrades name Liam, pravil'nyy, parrrdon me, correct, da?
Nils the Roamer
Nils is also injured.
"I'm not really using a club by choice you know. I usually use a sword or pole arm depending on the circumstances. This is part of a mast I think. "
seeing the food and fire being taken care of, he will poke around in the cave to make sure there are no other exits and nothing unexpected.
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Liam Kindall
"Yup, Liam Kindall, Wulfgar was it?"
Liam sat down, a bit more relaxed then before.
"Never skinned a wolf before, but can't be to much different than the sewer rats back in Canorus ..."
"Bit more meat though." Liam said jokingly.
@Nils, only Wulfgar & Balthe got attacked I thought ...
Wulfgar Ivarsson
sorry, Nils I didn't see your injury, how many HP?
Wulfgar approaches Nils his eyes clearly focused on the wound,
sword best I think, comrrrade, let wound be fixed, da, then go look at sword in cave
Wulfgar slaps his large hand on the wound and it feels like vodka pourd on it, when he is done only the scar remains
cast cure light wounds1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
while Wulfgar is skinning the wolf with Liam, he responds
da, wulfgar Ivarsson, bigger than rrrat are wolves, but rat better in meat pie
Wulfgar smiles his left eye twinkling his right twitching its iris going out of sight so only the milky white can be seen.
Wulfgar uses the second 1st level spell, enlarge person, If Nils needs more healing let me know
edit: I think you ninja-ed my post, Oh well
Balthe Synder
Thanks, I must be a bit rusty to get tripped up like that. Was irresponsible and undisciplined of me. If I focus on my training I can toughen myself more
didn't use my barkskin Ki ability!! Duh
Bathe looks at the gear. Not really things that I need to use. I say take it Nils.
Wulfgar Ivarsson
Wulfgar enters the cave chewing on wolf-roast, he wipes the grease from his chin with his long hair and says
bah, bouncer Balthe, sometime all get trrripped up, all fall down, important think to remember when fall down...don't get face eaten by wolf! Bah Ha Ha Ha
He drops the two wolf hides near the fire
comrrrrades, Hides still smell ripe I thinkink, but warm they will keep you, da
I don't know if anyone needs a cold weather outfit but we have two available
DM Stylz
the only ones to get attacked are Balthe and Wulfgar, Balthe the only one to actually take damage
With the help of Liam, two good coats can be made from the smaller wolves, but DW still mangled sorry
Wulfgar heals the injured Balthe, and the group has some roasted wolf for dinner if they are so inclined. Rain pours down for the next few hours, soaking the pines and hardwoods and causing birds to try and seek shelter. The sun is setting and the group turns in for the night, no sense in exploring the dark when the warm safety of the cave has already been secured.
Watches take place, wolves howl off in the distance. Sometimes closer, sometimes farther away, it cause slight tension but that too passes. Everyone wakes, ready for the new day.
So, you have a few options you can explore: NE or NW?
Wulfgar Ivarsson
Wulfgar awaken early, going outside the cave for his morning ablutions. He then fills his water skin and collects the now done wolf-jerky from off of the rock where it had slowly cooked, offering it to the team. He then puts on his armor, shouldering his pack and carrying his great sword he says,
da, comrrrades, eat, soon time to be leavink, drrream had I, voice said "go east" actually NE
Wulfgar will wait for Nils to lead out, and following him, helping with the woodcraft as much as possible.

Hmmm, salt lick need to find, make Jerrrky even better, Da
Liam Kindall
I still wonder where we are. The storm couldn't have hit us to far of course ... Maybe today we'll find a clue.
Liam followed the others like he had done yesterday, also inspecting the lay of the land to maybe get a clue where they have ended up.

The weather clears about the time the group heads from the cave to explore more of the island. Balthe, scales a tree to get a better vantage point. All he can before him is more trees. How's birdie friend flies overhead, scoping out the landscape for potential threats or anything interesting.
The group, travels north by northeast, and the forest grows thin. By late morn, the forrest gives way to plains land. Towards the fringe of the forrest, Nils and Wilfgar spot some tracks. They appear to be two humanoid sets, leading farther into the plains.
The hawk familiar comes down and lands on Gow's shoulder. It chirps a couples times in his ear,
body, face down in grassland beyond trees
Liam thinks long and hard about where they must be. The weather means they are on the coast or on an island. Leaving from Canorus, the only land mass near their departure is Azlant Isles. If this is true, they are only a few handful of people to ever explore let alone survive the harsh land of Azlant. The legends speak of horrific aberrations and even a long dead God residing in the depths under Azlant.
After pondering whete, he looks down to see the same set of footprints leading from forest edge out into the grassland. The grassland shows the footprints leading northeast, but they soon fade into the wilderness. He looks at the footprints, the way they are weighted and he can tell that they are humanoids, heavy set, and their weight is set on the heels of their boots.
GowWabber
"Hey, there's a body just past those trees up ahead!"
good work Birdie!
Gow pets the hawk's head affectionately as his eyes begin to glow light pink.
Wulfgar Ivarsson
Wulfgar as he follows Nils has been looking for any plants, seeds, mushrooms or roots to use as spice or vegetables for food.

DM Stylz
Wulfgar finds some mushroom caps, but he is unsure if they are edible or poisonous.
The group, figures the body beyond the treeline might provide clues to the potential dangers. Or at the very least perhaps have some gear.
The group, led by Nils and Wulfgar heads towards the body. They get next to it and see that the body, head, legs have been shredded to bits. A large creature has been feasting on the flesh of the deceased.
Nils, Balthe and GowWabber notice a large creature circling overhead their current location.

The fkying creature moves closer to the hopeful feast. As it does Wulfgar gets a closer look at it, A wickedly hooked beak and an immense bald head draw attention from this enormous scavenger's vast wingspan.

The beast, now roughly 100 feet above Wulfgar's head makes a beeline towards Wulfgar. As it gets closer, Liam realizes it to be a giant vulture. Liam figures the damage done to the deceased man was more than likely caused by the enormous hook of the flying creature.
The giant culture swoops down towards Wulfgar. He is ready fit the assault, but he swings a moment too early and the bird is unnaturally agile for such a size and dodges the blade. Balthe, on the other hand is able to get a hand on the large beast. His grip us strong, and the vulture with its momentum is unable to twist away from Balthe.
Unable to attack its initial target in Wulfgar, instead goes after Balthe who is wrestling with the creature. [ooc]If I underdtand grapple rules, I can make an attack instead of trying to escape. The attack is at a -2 however
