Suny yawns, stretches and sits up, grinning happily at whom ever she had snuggled up with the previous evening.

Every one can roll dice or sumin' fer that if'n ye want's too. (^_~)

After bouncing down stairs, bathing and breakfasting she greets Talon with a feisty hug and straps on her belts and buckles of equipment and gear.

SO, while shopin', could I have spent some of me shine in aquirin', say, a 'Wand of Cure Light Wounds'?


Wil explains to Suny that he went with Spider down some twisty streets and dealt with some unsavory characters. They seemed to accept him after a while when Spider vouched for him. Wil thinks he went to an unsavory district where people dealt in items they didn't want others to know about. Spider only took Wil to jeweler and moneychanger.

There is a large shop that sells almost anything and everything of a magical nature at the foot of the bridge to the castle. It is called "Ye One Stop Magic Shoppe".
It is a significant roleplaying event, so if anyone goes, let me know who is going.

Wil shakes his head at Talon. "It's not just her death that ways heavily on me Brother, but what may lie ahead in those sewers. So lets head to this magic shop and gear up before returning, especially since my healing ability is spent for this day." He pulls out the commission and reads it over once more. "We would be highly rewarded for completing this commission, at least this is what I was informed at the Magistrates office."

We've kinda switched here, but Seltyn will give Wil enough treasure to buy 2 CLW potions. One for him, one for someone else, just in case. I don't really want to abandon the sewers entirely. 1 or 2 of us can go with Spider, and we'll hold our position. Wil and Suny are tough. We can send them, and rest here until we're all healed and spelled-up.

Gearing up makes perfect sense, those flame bombs are a must. I will stay in the sewers with some of our group to make sure we don't lose the place. Return swiftly and let us press on

I will be staying in the sewers then, and lets get on with the mission. Time seems a little stretched and twisted right now.

To summarize events.
After the battle, the group retreated to the sanctuary. Seltyn was unable to identify all the magic items, and told everyone he would be able to do so the following morning. He did realize the unidentified items were significantly stronger than the ones he had identified.
The party rested in the sanctuary until the following morning for almost twenty hours.
Seltyn cast identify and identified the more powerful items and divided the magic items among the elves.
Spider led Wil to a seedy side of town and haggled for about an hour to sell the gems at his target price. This establishment was a specialty place that only dealt in gems and jewelry and was somewhat suspicious. He was allowed to tag along while with Spider, but recieved some glances. Spider then told Wil if he was to receive a share of the money and gems, to donate his share to Wil's temple as Lianelda's ascent had somewhat changed his views on religion. He could be reached at the Handsome Gentlemen Inn and was going to look up the Ferret, as he heard the Ferret was in town. Wil later surmised that the hand gestures and body expressions at the jeweler was a language and some information was exchanged that he was not privvy too (including the Ferret is back).
Wil returned with the money from selling the gems, and was able to exhange coins for other coins with a 3% fee from a moneychanger.
Wil volunteered that there was a large magic shop by the castle. It is less than 20 minutes walk from your current location.

There was a hint that this magic shop would not be rushed through and involved some RPing.

Aye, saw your 'Hint' and I did say I'd be interested in looking through the place. The question is, could the whole mob of us traipse in and not raise too many eyebrows? Here's to hopin' we can. (^_^)


I assume Suny is going to Ye One Stop Magic Shoppe. Let me know who else is going. It is good to get to a computer and type on a real keyboard.

The shop could indeed be interesting, although it would be a better idea to keep the party split and look after the Sanctuary as well. Hopefully we wont get overwhelmed there by some gribbly. Talon will stay in the Sanctuary

Elorin catches up with Talon and Seltyn, asking about what they have done since she last saw them. specifically about the others she knew and why they where no longer around."What has happened my friends to you and the others I knew? I feel in my time with the humans I have missed a lot."

Oh, my dear Elorin! We've dealt with a lot of loss since you were last with us. Marlamin, Telethal and Velesia left us for their own reasons. Poor Lienilda, the cleric, was killed just down that passage, and ascended from us right here. This is sacred ground, and we're fortunate to hold it for now.

Our lady and Windfavor still support us, as they can manage, and we've picked up some promising, if troubled, new members to our party. Azlain and Wil are both brave and capable, and Suny is just as brave, and brings a cheer that keeps us hopeful.

We barely know them, but they've proven loyal and resilient, despite our difficulties. I think we're as strong as ever, even with our losses, and we'll prevail. Elves, being elves, follow their own paths, and they leave of their own accord. We must accept what comes our way, and see our tasks done, with the elves we have.

That's why I'm especially glad to see you again. Your talents are legend in our homeland, and we didn't even embellish the story!

Seltyn laughs heartily, just glad to see his old friends are still on the job. Elorin brings talents the rest of us don't have. They'll certainly come into play.


Suny, Wil, and Azlain take a short walk to the large three story block building that is labeled, 'Ye One Stoppe Magic Shoppe'. Two guards in chain armor with halberds stand guard outside. There is a robed attendant waiting behind a door when you arrive.

The guards give a salute with their halberd and a wave of their hand as you approach. The mousy-looking female attendant with light brown hair and hazel eyes greets you as you approach. You are escorted into an foyer where five well-dressed gentlemen sit behind desks. The desks are labeled: Books and scrolls, weapons, shields and armor, wands and staves, and other magical items. The gentlemen behind the desks are catching up on reading and writing entries in books.

The slight female explains, "There are experts here who will verify the authenticity of goods you wish to sell and will make the appropriate request to most efficiently procure goods that customers wish to buy. Please let me know which attendants you wish to talk to."

The attendants all have an embroidered symbol in shining gold. It is a large O that is more like a rectangle with two spiral lines curled around the left and right sides of the rectangle.

Elorin blushing at the compliment she smiles and looks away for a moment. "Thank you Seltyn. It is a shame to have lost our friends through any means but I am glad I have returned and that there are others by our side. Yes sunny seems very cheery and Azlain and Wil appear to be more than capable. Loss is never easy I feel a victory here will help lift spirits."

"As for me I hope I can live up to the legend." She says with a nervous laugh.

Aye the new players in our group are most certainly interesting, and have brought strength to the group that we lacked before. I am hoping that we might still see some of our old comrades who left us, but only time will tell in that respect. Wil nods to each of the guardsmen and follows the mousy-looking woman into the foyer. After she explains how everything works, he fixes her with his most warm and friendly smile before bowing to her respectfully. " I am Wil of house Fmelvam. You have my deepest thanks for your help miss and may I say it is a pleasure to be in such lovely and capable hands~" He ment every word as he stood up straight again and quickly introduced the others. "This is Suny and Azlain, some of my closest comrades. Now, I do hope to know your name as well, it would be most rude of me to call you by anything else." He focused on her hazel colored eyes, adoring how humans were so blessed in how unique and different each of them were.

Flambeaux, you've shown yourself to be very brave, and always on the job, whenever you've been asked. Please, take your rest, and tell us a little about yourself. I feel as if I don't even know some of the elves who've accepted this murky journey. I hope all is well with you?

Suny's eyes seem to be every where at once as she takes in the new surroundings. When Wil mentions her name, she smiles, though there is colour in her cheeks and it would appear that she is embarrassed or shy at the sudden attention. Once within the establishment proper, she edges c loser to her friends.

"Are you representing the foxes? I will have to see if they have any outstanding orders that have come in."

Lady Quentin is preparing a list of items you wish to buy and a list of the items you wish to sell. You have seen no actual inventory in this room, but there are doors and steps downstairs.

Meanwhile....at the sanctuary
it is a rather quiet day and the two spells Seltyn cast to identify the objects revealed every single item in the queen that wasn't money or jewelery was magic. The dim light at the top of the sanctuary continues to glow, and the clear, refreshing water that is taken from the pool seems to be replenished.

Suny comes 'out of her shell' a little and wanders about the place, peering at things, tentatively reaching out and touching others.

"Lady Quentin, such a beautiful name, your husband is a lucky man." Wil bows deeply and kisses Lady Qunetin's hand in proper greeting. As he stands straight once more he waves to Azlain's dagger and explains. "Yes, for now I represent them and would appreciate knowing what orders are outstanding. We also have a number of items to sell and a portion of gold to purchase some weapons and healing items mainly. My warrior friend here is looking to trade the dagger he found for a weapon more suiting to his strength." He smiles at the harmless joke and eyes Azlain for a moment before looking back at Lady Quentin.

Wil pauses for a moment before adding quietly. "You wouldn't have any items made by elven kind would you? I would love to see some if you do have them." His warm smile remains as he watches Lady Quentins reaction.

The lady nods to Wil's question.
"Items made my the fairer race are quite popular. Boots and cloaks especially. There is a suit of full plate armor that the foxes ordered. It was enchanted to make it even harder to hit."

"We can appraise these items and pay you for them or allow you to use them in trade. Did you bring these items? You would be surprised how many try to pass off fake goods. To verify their authenticity, it would help if we knew where they came from."

The lady motions to the weapons clerk, and he comes over with parchment and quill.


In the sanctuary the reunion continues as Elorin explains how the human and elves are very close now. She was no longer needed to help with the diplomacy, for now the two nations (elves and Seaview) were allied completely.

Wil tried to be delicate in his explanation as to where they came from. "In all honesty you'd be surprised as to where we acquired it and it was during the pursuit of completing a recent accepted commission here in The Depot when we discovered this treasure trove. The details of which are far to gruesome for a lady of such elegant beauty to worry herself with. Give me one moment to converse with my comrades and get a list ready for you..."

So we are selling the Merciful Dagger which Azlain can use to upgrade his weapons hopefully. What other items do we wish to bring to the table? Besides the gold ;)

After much discussion Wil tells Lady Qunetin what they have to offer and asks if she would please appraise the above items. "Lady Qunetin, Azlain here is most interested in weapons of Elven-make, mainly those of the curved blade style. While Suny is looking for a wand of healing the lesser spell type if I am not mistaken. We are also interested in whatever scrolls you have available as well as any magical arrows that we can afford to purchase from you. Your help is most appreciated milady."


Lady Quentin has a young mage in a scarlet cape come from the back. He waves his hands and studies the items.

"You will of course be paying the customary 20% tax to the Society on all transactions in the city. I think if these items found in the city limits have no prior claim on them, you are probably free to keep them after paying the tax. You may want to check at the ministry where you received this commission. The Depot government is notoriously inefficient. You want the Department of Lost Items."

"Was all this money found in the same treasure find? I am sure you will want to declare the found money when I calculate your appropriate obligations."

The dagger and all items are totaled up on a large sheet that shows the credit towards purchasing. For example= Merciful dagger at 8310gp - .2(8310)=6648gp credit. Jeweled dagger=2710gp - .2(2710)=2168gp.

Your purchase of the CLW is written as Minor Healing Wand full = 750gp+.2(750)=900gp.

"The elven blade will have to be forged and enhanted and will probably be more expensive as it will require more work. The keen enchantment is quite common, that is not so much of a problem."

Lady Quentin thanks the man, "Barto, thanks for your help. Was this treasure found in the city limits, sir knight? Our city strongly believes in collecting revenue for public works."

When her name is mentioned Suny looks at Wil and Lady Quentin, then blushes and looks away, obviously embarrassed and shy.

Suny continues to wander slowly about the 'shop' ogling all of the things on display.

Wil thinks for a moment and shrugs as he is at a loss as to what to say. "All of these items were found in the same sack..." He pauses for a moment as the nasty work of dissecting said sack comes to mind. "but the undercity appears to be apart from the confines of the city proper. It is semantics in the end and I to love to provide funds to projects that provide a public service.

"I will do as you ask though and seek the department of lost items and see if these items are missing or being sought out by their original owners. For now we may have to hold off on our current negotiation until we are sure that these items are not being sought by their original owners."

If we need to seek out this Department of Lost Items so we avoid breaking a law~ WE can always do that and return.

"Whut's a Tax...?" She whispers quietly.

Wil continues to smile warmly although his honeyed words fail him as he looks to his elven sister. "I'm not surprised you don't know of it Suny. In laymen's terms it is a sum of money demanded by a government for its support or for specific facilities or services rendered in places of business, it is levied upon incomes, property, sales and etc. In many good instances it helps support public projects and helps keep businesses viable for the services they provide. It is one of the ways that man has devise to keep their government and cities funded by taxing the income of not only their people but travelers such as ourselves." Noticing he's droning on he runs his hand through his short hair and blushes in embarrassment. "Sorry ladies, I don't talk much as most of the time my patients are writhing in agony or unconscious."


The lady speaks, "I did not know obligations were negotiable in elven lands. I will hold off on ordering any items till I hear from you again."

He bows to lady Quentin and bows to the others. His voice is steady and unburdened by the setback they have run into but the last thing he wanted to do was run afoul of the law. Especially before the raid was complete. "My apologies lady Quentin, I didn't mean to waste your time and I was unfamiliar to the laws of the Depot. We will get this squared away with the Department and return post haste to finish our transaction. Thank you again." He turns and collects the items and heads for the door.

If no one has anything to add, we will head to the department of Lost Items and get this all straightened out before we get arrested for tax evasion. xD

Suny listens intently at Wil's explanation. Though, as he finishes, she frowns slightly.

"I c'n see I has t' ask about some o' t'other things ye mention in there as weell..." She whispers with a sigh as they head off to this 'Lost items' office.

"But, if'n th' office be lost...how's we s'posed t'find it?" Suny shakes her head, trying to work her way through her poor understanding of the Human language.

Wil laughs loudly, genuinely intrigued by Suny's lack of knowledge in how mankind operates. Once they were on their way Wil quietly whispers back to her. "It's just the way mankind is, they have an office or service for just about everything. AS they are so absent minded in their short lives they must task others to find and keep track of their items for them. Its a sad but useful service. I am surprised that they have survived this long but the Office of Lost Items is where we first met Sister Suny."

WE will head to the Office of Items then. ;)

Suny actually frowns at Wil's outburst of laughter, though she does grin at the irony of having already used the 'Lost office' herself, in a way.

"It in't that I dun't un'ner stand Humans....it be some o' th' way th' words dun't come across proper, y'know...." Suny struggles in the Human tongue to express herself, though she does also blush with some embarrassment,

"Okeys...there be some things I dun't un'ner stand about Humans as well...." She does ruefully admit.

As they made their way to the Department of Lost Items. Wil ran his hand through his hair in embarrassment. "I wasn't meaning to laugh at you Sister Suny, only the irony that our two races are similar and yet so very, very different. At least you have me to translate their ways as I was born and raised among them, hopefully my knowledge will serve our people well."


At the 'Department of Lost Items', the clerk is frustrated.
"When you were assigned your commission, the clerk was supposed to check with me and inform you what was missing. The area of the commission has to be referenced with the appropriate lost property claims." He grabs a huge volume of items and grid coordinates, then cross references it with his large city map and returns.

"Here it is - Wizard's ring and hat - 'the cabal' has a 2000gp reward tax free for their return."

"Another entry - Dagger, chain shirt, and ring useful to any thief last seen in Jurgen From's possession- his band reported it missing and there is a 5000gp reward tax free for their return."

"This is strange - 194 gp in miscellaneous coins--merchants of Waverly street. How would anyone expect someone to return these?"

He looks at Wil, "These rewards are very generous. Except for the merchants of course. They just want their money back. I think it is a subtle clue to the the theives that stole it."
