Sorry if I'm posting out of order. This is the time I have to post.

Wil never intended to stab the enemy in the back and tried to hit the ratman with the flat of his blade. The combination of defensive fighting made his attempt an extremely poor one and as his blade rattled off the stone sewer wall his query made its escape.

Chainmail |

As you approach the wall, you notice you have gradually fought your way to higher ground. On the other side of the wall is a 10' drop to another channel of murky water and a large pile of varying remains on the other side. In this pile can be seen pieces of broken weapons as well as the occasional glint of a gold piece or helmet.
You glimpse a huge rat in the pile. This queen rat has the mass of an ogre. Two rats guard her.

Azlain |

I'm mostly back on track. Life is throwing lots of curveballs lately. Thanks.
The masked elf looked down the channel and could only sigh. Sheathing his long blade and drawing his bow, he looked up for targets.

Wil dodged the monstrous rats attack as he side stepped and slashed at its approaching spawn. He kept his shield up and thank the gods for the healing from the priestess as he was afraid his own ability would be taxed heavily by this new creature. "Keep it up lads we have them, press the attack. I will hold here." Fighting defensively Wil left the way open for everyone's ranged strikes, while simultaneously threatening the creature with his close proximity. This is gonna be rough...
Can I do a swift action on my enemies turn, say in response to taking damage? The RAW states most swift actions are like free actions which can be taken at almost any time. My idea is as he fights if say he get hit by both rats, and takes enough damage to warrant a Lay on hands, which is a swift action when paladins cast it on themselves, he could theoretically heal himself before the Queen rat strikes, thus avoiding being knocked out too soon. Please let me know what your decision is on that Chainmail. As it would make an effective tanking strategy if I could heal while taking damage on the enemies turn. Thanks!

The exploding thunderstone made Wil nearly jump out of his skin and barely caught himself from falling over the edge and onto Spider. Talon's cries made him look wildly about for what force was surrounding them. When he saw nothing he turned back to face his opponent and mumbled to Spider. "What is surrounding us?!"
That is all the talking I will be doing until next round...

Talon! Get to the other side of the door and fire at the big one! Suny! Hit a rat and run back! I need the doorway open to blast it!
Talon will have line of sight. Suny will take an AO or 2, but we're not hurting anything right now, as it is.

Talon Moonwalker -NPC- |

Okay so Wil was at 17 hp. he Took 10 so he went down to 7 and Lin came and healed him for 7. Since the rat initiated a Grapple. Unless I missed something but when a grapple is initiated then they both gain the grappled condition, losing the ability to use AoO's and Wil wasn't out cold yet when lin tried to heal him.

Talon Moonwalker |
Nicely done there Wil, beautiful smiting.
Talon draws his bow fully once more, whilst Wil's huge swings seemed to have hurt the beast, that it was still moving was indicative of the same kind of power as he had faced down in that crocodile in the Jungle. He was stronger now than he was then, and seeing the ineffectual swings of some of his allies only strengthened his resolve to bring them home safely by killing this thing as quickly as is possible.
Noticing the rats however, there seemed to be a greater priority. If the smaller rats were killed, then Suny could move out of the way, thus Spider and Seltyn would be able to move into positions of power.
Shrugging off the big kill for the moment, he turns his attentions to the smaller rats, firing with all the speed that he can muster.
Suny, I need you to make a small step to the side damn it, otherwise I run the risk of impaling you on an arrow.
