Dungeon Master S |
The party rushes forward as the combat rages on.
Janira tries to retreat to safety, but not without a party shot as she steps back and tries to whip the minotaur's weapon from his hands Whip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6. when it fails miserably she squeaks, "Help!"
Round 1:
Bodta: Move
Brillig: Double Move
Bhielli: Move
Boram: Cavalier stuff
Hobbes: Move
Janira: Fail
Than: Go
Minotaur: TBD
Dungeon Master S |
Than continues forward, though as he does words fall from his mouth as psychic energy engulfs him. He begins to grow in size....
The minotaur gives a roar that chills you to the bone. He raises his axe and brings it down on the halfling! Axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 for DMG: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9!
Janira falls to the swing! A pool of her blood begins to form. She's likely not gone yet, but any second could be her last...
Round 2:
Bodta: Go
Brillig: Go
Bhielli: Go
Boram: Go
Hobbes: Go
Janira: Blarg
Than: TBD
Minotaur: TBD
Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Janira: -1 Dying
Boram - pfs |
Boram hustles across the bridge.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 4 = 16 size penalty
Intimidate DC = 10 + minotaur's HD + minotaur's wisdom mod, on success minotaur is shaken for 1 round (+ 1 for every 5 above the DC, unlikely)
He shakes his sword menacingly, and shouts out, "She shall be your last, beast!"
Dungeon Master S |
Size matters not! The minotaur's roar of challenge and bloody axe falter ever so slightly, just for a moment... DC 16 Boram's challenge is met!
Round 2:
Bodta: Go

Bhielli: Go

Dungeon Master S |
The look on Hobbes face is one of desperate frustration as he can't get to the halfling. He moves in as strategically as possible.

Bodta Koštunica - PFS |
I see on the map that my pog has not moved--however, I calculated that I was about 20' due north of Jania. I'm acting as if that's the case...
Seeing Jania fall to the minotaur's axe makes the monk hesitate for a moment. He looks back and forth between the monster, and the fallen one. The fact that she is still in his reach (and thus so would be anyone who assisted her), and that Hobbes managed to unnerve the monster, cements Bodta's decision. He looks straight up at the beast, and in his flat, deep voice, utters I must break you.
He feints to his left, trying to draw the minotaur's swing in that direction. He then jumps off the planted left foot, his left fist cocked at his side. On his descent, he twists his hips to the right and tries to plant a solid single-knuckle punch on the beast's inner thigh; maybe he can stun it!
Acrobatics to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Stunning fist attack
Stunning fist: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
if hit, must make Fort save DC 13 or be stunned until the beginning of my next turn
Bodta Koštunica - PFS |
if I'm allowed a shirt reroll, I'll take it on that attack!
Stunning Fist, reroll if allowed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Note: current AC is 20 due to Mage Armor
Dungeon Master S |
Yes, I'll allow the shirt reroll. You need to get your ass a star!
Bodta rushes in with the bravery that the Pathfinder Society is famous for, and rushes by the minotaur's swing AoO: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 2 = 15. It's hesitation after Boram's scare makes him miss by a hair's breadth! FORT: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17. He keeps his wits, but the punch hurts!
Round 2:
Bodta: Fist Law
Brillig: Go
Bhielli: Go
Boram: Intimidate
Hobbes: move
Janira: Blarg
Than: TBD
Minotaur: TBD
Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Janira: -1 Dying
Minotaur: 10 Shaken 1 round
Brillig Tove |
Moved Bodta to be in melee with the minotaur. Hopefully, his positioning is OK with you, Mike.
Brillig once again summons forth an eagle from the celestial ether.
The eagle talons and beak glow with goodly might (swift action Smite Evil) then swoops around and in to rake at the minotaur.
talon: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
talon: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
beak: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Dungeon Master S |
The summoner's bird seems largely ineffective, but one lucky claw tears the minotaur's face.
Round 2:
Bodta: Fist Law
Brillig: Summon
Bhielli: Go
Boram: Intimidate
Hobbes: move
Janira: Blarg
Than: TBD

Thannaen the Forgotten |
Grown to massive proportion yet remaining equally fleet of foot, Thann storms across the river and into battle.
I think I need a Strength check IIRC. Str: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 using my reroll Str: 1d20 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 3 = 26
Roaring up the opposite bank, he positions himself opposite Bodta and takes advantage of his longer swing to bring Remembrance in a vicious arc into the minotaur's neck.
Employing my once-per-day bonus versus an evil aligned creature. If not evil, subtract 2.
Remembrance @ Minotaur: 1d20 + 6 - 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 1 + 2 + 2 = 21
Damage: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (6, 3) + 7 = 16
Dungeon Master S |
You are correct sir.
Thann's swing is dead on target and rocks the minotaur backwards and nearly over. It roars not out of battle fury, but of agony. He turns to Thann and tries to bring down the large elf with a pair of powerful swings of his mangled axe:
ATK 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 MISS
ATK 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 DMG: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
And then head butts him, horns first:
Gore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 for DMG: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
And Thann drops from the wounds!
Round 3:
Bodta: Go
Brillig: Go
Bhielli: Go
Boram: Go
Hobbes: Go
Janira: Stable
Than: TBD
Minotaur: TBD
Janira: -2 (Stable)
Minotaur: 32
Bodta Koštunica - PFS |
Bodta continues working stoically to smash the bull man to a pulp. He takes advantage of the flank and the fact that the beast has turned around to face other foes...he throws a right roundhouse kick to the outside of the monster's right calf, trying to buckle his knee to bring him lower.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Having missed the kick, he throws an uppercut into the beast's groin.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Shouldn't the minotaur still be shaken for the attacks vs Than?
Wouldn't make a difference. My normal AC is 16 and enlargement means -2 to AC. He'd still hit both times.
Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 2 = 16 stable
Laid out on the grass, the flow of Thann's lifeblood ebbs to a trickle. Remembrance glows beneath its grit for a moment, then goes dull.

wonderfully dramatic!!
Bhielli Tazalla |
Seeing a member of this excursion laid low enrages a the already frustrated dwarf. Bhielli moves in, his two handed-swing aiming for what ever soft-bits it can find.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 211d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Tracking: 3 of 7 rounds of rage
Can someone move me to top/right corner of the Minotaur? Damn work.
Brillig Tove |
The eagle attempts to hover:
Fly: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
It then continues to rake at the minotaur.
Talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Actually...
Bodta's kick is too much, the leg breaks and the femur punches through the skin. The minotaur drops and begins to bleed out!
Out of combat.
Two allies and a foe lie bleeding on the grass...
Dungeon Master S |
Janira awakes to see Boram stabbing, but then she turns to Hobbes and she thanks him profusely. She then addresses everyone with a promise to both "help YOU in their future missions AND submit a glowing recommendation for your heroism." After, she pauses in thought and eagerly inquires about what you found in the caves...
Boram - pfs |
"Ah, yes. Apparently it's some ancient shrine to Aroden. Lots of old carvings, a model of Absalom, some strange gillman sitting in a pool staring at the water; it's probably quite interesting if you're into all that...oh, and this note! Someone wants to turn all the gillmen that come here into an undead army."
Dungeon Master S |
Sure! He doesn't really react much. "Such has been the way of things with my people. Worry not, and bask in the glory."
He seems... disinterested.
