Roos Randermin |
Before the impending fight Roos tries talking to the man about an Ulfen Huskarl much like him who stood fast for his Jarl.... hoping to Fascinate the man...
Each creature within range receives a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the bard's level + the bard's Cha modifier) to negate the effect. If a creature's saving throw succeeds, the bard cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and observes the performance for as long as the bard continues to maintain it. While fascinated, a target takes a –4 penalty on all skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat to the target allows the target to make a new saving throw against the effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect.
if successful he will then try to use Suggestion

Hugo Victor |
Hugo shakes his head in disapproval as he steps to the side and casts.
This will not benefit either of us now.
He casts Jolting Portent on Mr. Khayn
The creature you designate is surrounded by a glowing red aura of vengeful fate. Once per round when the target makes an attack or casts a spell, it must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw with a DC = 10 + 1/2 caster level + Charisma (in the case of oracles) or Wisdom (in the case of clerics). If the target fails the saving throw, it takes 4d6 + your Charisma modifier (in the case of oracles) or Wisdom modifier (in the case of clerics) electricity damage. It takes no damage on a successful saving throw. You can dismiss this spell as an immediate action when its subject confirms a critical hit to negate the critical hit and daze the creature for 1 round. The attack still hits its target and deals normal damage. The effects of the daze occur after the attack.
Roos Randermin |
Well then Roos begins his bardic buff to assist his teammates as a standard action and then moves towards his right.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
Just for the record, not trying to make it difficult, I just try not to spill first blood with this character (except vs Evil Outsiders and Undead).
Hugo Victor |
No worries Ig. Was not trying to instigate directly. Hugo's of the same mindset mostly.
Portent will only affect him if he attacks or casts. Seems diplomacy is not looking likely here though.
Dungeon Master S |
You can each tell that the man is dedicated to his cause...
Hugo tries his best to keep the peace with a spell of both offense and defense: Will: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27 and the powerful man resists his spell with moderate ease. Roos begins a bardic chant, recounting tales of triumph.

Dungeon Master S |
As the party moves to pass by the unconscious form of the Aspis guard a pair of figures emerge from the stone floor, "Not so fast intruders!"
The figures resemble towering humans with skin of polished stone and glittering agate eyes.
These are shaitain, earth genies. They have a variety os spell like abilities and defenses. Ask a question for every 5 over.
They each cast a spell with shocking alacrity Roos and Atum must make a Will DC 14 versus Glitterdust.
They then bring their blades to bear

Dang it. I had a follow up post almost immediately after my last that seems to have vanished.

Roos: The shaitan are pretty straightforward, though they are immune to electricity. The Nemhain is FAR worse. It can lash out at range with it's swirling spirits. Their touch is like either a Harm or Slay Living spell. Their touch is damaging and can drain a man's life force (CON Drain)

I try to always copy the post before hitting submit. I've been burned too many times. It sucks the most when it's posted, but then vanishes... No need to apologize. I have a system :-) Incorporeal is immune to crits though (unless ghost touch.)

Hugo Victor |
Hugo delays to see if the undead swirling mass still moves after the onslaught of fire and rage.
Dungeon Master S |
With the odds so firmly stacked against it, the undead is utterly destroyed by Atum and Roakar working together.
Feel free to heal up.
The party brings their prisoner too. Upon realizing he's not dead, Mr. Kayne nods respectfully. His frank demeanor isn't changed by the change in situation. "I'm not in any position to stop you but I have a vested, professional, interest in not assisting you in whatever you’re planning.."
Hugo Victor |
Hugo will nod to the security specialist.
"We appreciate your professionalism. I will remove my spell from you. Your word is sufficient and we would not want you accidentally injured further ."
Hugo will dismiss jolting portent from the man.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
Looking back at the group, but speaking loud enough to be heard by Mr. Kayne, "Isn't what we are planning to save the Aspis Consortium from one of it's turn coats?"
I'm actually a little unclear on just why we are here, and if that is wrong, what exactly are our plans?
"We have no intention of getting you in trouble, nor are we simply vandals here to rob, destroy, or otherwise do anything that would displease either mother or father. But, it would really help if you could tell us what you know of Suliji Peshar. That is who we seek, and to stop her plan which would harm both of our organizations, getting a lot of innocents killed."

He gives you a grudging nod of respect, "I appreciate you treating me like an equal, and not demeaning me with enchantment magic. If what you say is true, I carry a key to unlock the checkpoint doors that stand between here where you're going. I know that three of the Patrons are currently in residence, though many of them maintain alternate means of entering and exiting the building that can occasionally circumvent my surveillance," he notes with a shrug, "“Magic.”
"The Patrons’ wing is beyond my jurisdiction for installing and maintaining traps and other stationary defenses, so each Patron might have his or her own tricks to repel attackers. I won't wish you good luck, but I will hope that this ends well."
He thanks Ignatious for the healing too, and pulls himself together. With a final nod, your ultimate target lies within.
It has been a while, and I had a spot of poor posting. You're in here because the devil you know for Aspis leadership is preferable to the psycho who is trying to kill them and take over. You're trying to hunt her down in the belly of the beast.
I'll advance once you guys are ready.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
I'm not sure if I can cast Restoration right now on Roakar, or should wait until the end (for specific components). I'm ok waiting, the main concern I have is I'm not really too certain on just how his HP or number of Rage Rounds are at right now.
Also, does anyone need more healing?
Dungeon Master S |
Because of the extreme circumstances, I'll handwave tracking his rage rounds.
