Feel free to retcon healing before advancing.

The party makes their way ever deeper. They're reminded of their fateful trip to the top of Skyreach that time not so long ago. you arrive at a door that seems more a nuisance for Roakar than a barricade. Before he can knock it down (or Roos deftly opens it), you hear a magical message from a voice without source, "Ah, Roakar, Roos, Atum, Ignatious, and Hugo. I expected nothing less from you. Welcome, friends. We have much to discuss!” With no way to track the source of the voice, you continue on beyond the door. Beyond lies a much smaller series of halls leading to Patrons’ offices, meeting rooms, and several showy galleries. you know the trail to Suliji is warm as her violent displays of power leave their mark.

The final room is unlike anything you've seen before. Hundreds, likely thousands of swords, knives, and other blades of nearly every size and curvature adorn this gallery, which includes both cases and stands as well as fireplaces and comfortable chairs, as if also serving as an ostentatious lounge. Edged weapons even comprise the frames of three chandeliers that cast cheery, magically sustained light throughout the hall.

In the room stands Suliji Peshar. It seems she has cornered one of the Patrons, a Chelish businessman in richly a embroidered jacket. He now slouches in a chair in a daze.

She looks up at you and smiles, "You are here! Good! Finally we can rid Golarion of these petty and evil shadows of the once great Aspis. We can return it to a better time! Hugo, I have respect for the Society. I have even given aid to the Society, and I desire to work with the Society in the future!"

She looks at each of you in turn, "Atum! You must know that I have admiration and respect for the sages as a fellow Garundi scholar of antiquities, and I would even like to talk with Tahonikepsu for mutual benefit!"

She continues, "Ignatious, given time you would be SHOCKED at the violence they plan against Mendev, to hobble the good work done in the Crusade!"

She gives a warm smile to Roos, "Before me stands one of the worst slavers in the Mwangi! Think of what a weaker Aspis Consortium would mean for combating slavery in the Inner Sea region! "

For the moment, it's peaceful, as she awaits your reaction...

None of you get any hunches about her motivations, nor any insight into her words.

Suliji rolls her neck before answering. “I am Suliji Peshar, daughter of a cactus farmer, student of antiquities, ally of the Society, and thorn in the Consortium’s side. This is the esteemed Iaovin Ratarion, a Patron of the Aspis Consortium. He cleans up nicely, so it is easy to overlook the blood of the innocent upon his hands. To his credit, though, he has delegated the lion’s share of atrocities to his agents abroad.”

Suliji offers a conciliatory shrug. “It is true that among my actions to assist the Society, I have dealt them harm as well. After all, there was no way to uncover the information I leaked to you about your biggest enemies within the Consortium without at least token participation on my part. Then again, you’ve thwarted a few of my side plans recently as well—most impressively, I might add. I am inclined to take that more as a token that you are worthy allies than an excuse for umbrage. The Aspis have harmed the Society, the Society has harmed the Aspis, and they both have harmed me. We’re in a cycle that has continued for decades and will persist for centuries so long as the shadowy leaders continue to pit their pawns against one another. If you want to see an end to the tragedy, we must break that cycle by breaking the leaders.” Suliji waves a hand consolingly. “I don’t mean the Decemvirate, though I suppose I’m open to discussion if you insist. I mean the Patrons.”

Just to be clear, while I might use words like "we" or "us", I am only intending to speak for myself here, not shoot down anyone else's comments.

"I'm willing to listen, and talk, although I will not condone murder, even of an Aspis Consortium Patron, if that is the cost for you to "break the cycle". More death, pain, and suffering will simply not make anything better, but it will make us, . . . all of us just as bad as those we oppose."

"Would you consider turning these patrons over to my our care, to be delivered to the Pathfinder Society for justice?"

Also, after (and depending on), her answers, I might also ask

"You mentioned earlier that you have a desire to work for the Society in the future. You have also implied strongly that you have already helped the Society in many ways. I'd like to know how that is? How have you helped? And would you consider if we,. . . offered you a Field Commission? That is, if we agree, find you worthy, and find your answers satisfactory. Can you walk the more difficult road after having spent so long on the easy one?"

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

She answers Roos matter-of-factly, “My goals are straightforward. Break apart the Consortium’s monopoly, shatter its strength, and carve a niche for my own. I appreciate wealth and power, yet I don’t have the stomach for much more violence. You can continue uncovering relics without Aspis interference, and I can retire out of the way to a prosperous shipping company along eastern Garund. I’ll be happy to send any tips your way if I see something I think would interest you. I’m not up to becoming a field agent, but if the Society can produce agents as impressive as you, I suppose I would be a fool not to agree to act as a contact and ally. Even if the Consortium bore a grudge for that, I’d doubt they would have the nerve to pursue it. ”

To Ignatious, despite the eloquence of his words " You are in the heart of their operation with a dagger to their throat. You can give this conflict a merciful death by eliminating some of the most depraved souls you’ll likely ever meet, or you can let these battles continue, condemning hundreds more to die. Did someone ask you to stay your blade, or did they ask you to recognize an opportunity and seize it?”

Her gaze steels, "ENOUGH! Make your choice. Make your choice now!"

I'm going to roll initiative, but this is ONLY to keep things efficient. You need to choose your path. If you side with her, we're not in initiative. If you DON'T side with her, then take your actions.

Atum steps into the room and takes a deep breath in as his form once again grows to incredible height. "I have had enough of your talk." He spits the word as a curse. "You say you are stopping the violence but all you have done is increased it tenfold. We have another choice now and that is this: extend our hand to the Consortium by killing you, the real villain, rather than taking advantage and striking them down only to let you and your chaos run free. For me, the choice is easy."

Atum advances into the room, moving quickly with his large size, and levels his weapon at Suliji. "Stand down and leave the Patrons be."

Swift to turn large then two moves across the room. FYI she is within Atum's 20' threatened zone if she tries to do anything. And Atum has Improved Unarmed Strike so no dead spots immediately around him.

The tense situation finally devolves into a show of force. Atum's form is formidable indeed!

Suliji dodges the chain as it snaps near her. Hugo grabs the Patron, and dimensionally jumps to the room where they fought Mr. Khayn when the man nods yes.

The Zelekhut snaps his chains on her. She doesn't drop, but a quickly weakening spell of stoneskin looks like it stopped some of the damage.

Hugo:

Mr. Khayn is gone and the Patron's head droops. He manages to speak to you, "Ugh, it's no use.... the ring... on my finger. Glued... Spell... Wounds come to me..." Even as he speaks, wounds appear on his body. They look exactly like the Zelekhut's chains caused them.

Actually, since I act after Roakar's attack, would I have been caught in the first blast at all? I'm really debating right now if I should cast Heal on myself (currently at 14HP) or Roakar, (who I'm unsure, but he has got to be very close to dropping). +48 HP would leave me a little more in the "okayish" range.

Since I didn't actually move until after Roakar (and Hugo) acted, would I have been in the area of this explosion? I'm trying to make sure, because both Roakar (I believe) and myself are looking pretty beat down right now, and I'm debating on who to focus on healing. Currently, with that extra 48 damage, and after my last Channel, I'm at 14 HP, so one hit could literally kill me. I honestly have no idea what Roakar is at, so I've really been just trying to assume he is at high, mid, or low HP, and right now, is very likely at the low end as well. He has too many variables I'm not clear on.
