Roakar's swing, though mighty, isn't enough to make contact.

The creature responds in kind, and since it appears you can see it... The creature takes a moment to flex and posture its horrific appearance. In all it's glory the otherworldly wrongness of the beast is more than most mortals can handle!

Atum and Roakar need to make a FORT Save DC 21. Failure means you take:

1d4 ⇒ 3 STR, CON, and CHA DRAIN...

Furthermore the same two must make a Will DC 21 or take 2 points of CHA DMG and be confused for 1d3 ⇒ 2 rounds.

Anyone who makes visual contact with the beast must make that FORT save, so if your turn takes you where you can see it, you have to save. Feel free to post it preemptively while I'm in my slow-post state.

That's just nasty. . .

I'm assuming I can see it, so
Fort Save DC 21: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33

Since my action is after Hugo, I'll post one of two possibilities, depending on what he does.

If Hugo does NOT cast Blessing of Fervor:
I will, moving just into the room (preferably flying 5th up so not to block the entry), and boosting the party.

If Hugo DOES cast Blessing of Fervor:
I'll instead move in a little closer, flying 5ft up if possible in this room, and <swift Action> Cold Ice Strike, followed immediately by casting Harm <holding the charge>.
Refl DC 21 for Half (Cold Damage): 15d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 6, 1, 4, 3, 4, 1, 3, 6, 5, 1, 1, 2) = 43 <or 21>

From what I can see, does "it", whatever it is, seem to be hindered at all by the fog?

Hugo, unable to see anyone in the cloud, is unlikely to cast targeted buffs.

Lord Roakar and Master Roos, have you slain the beast so we can move on?

Hugo calls forth a creature from Abadar's realm to traverse the fog and ignore the strange beast's fearsome visage.

Sacred Summons - Summon Mon VII - Zelekut (truesight, immune ability drain)

Welcome to our realm. Please go forth into the fog and slay or disable the massive beast they claim to fight within. Ignore the humanoids like myself. Those are friends.

The clockwork centaur appears, flying in the room and will start with a hold monster on the creature (DC18) before flying closer to reach with its chain arms. (not sure if truesight helps with fog.)

NOTE: Remember Heroes Feast bonus on WILL saves and attacks/hp etc

Hugo brings forth a mighty ally. Given instructions from the cleric, it sets to work as assuredly as its gears turn. It whirs and clacks as magic spills forth Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24. The horror from beyond resists the spell however, and goes on fighting.

Ignatious moves in and can see that the creature seems unhindered by the miasma in the air here. Ignatious, what was your standard action?

Roakar does what he does best. The hammer brings destruction as viscera and gore paint the lab. The beast recoils with a scream that hurts the ears with a cacophony of alien sounds. It's battered, but it fights on. The creature steps away from the barbarian only to be blocked by the wall.

It risks a spell, Defensive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 as WAVES OF EXHAUSTION pour forth from it's face. Everyone but Roos and Hugo is caught in the wave.

Wow...those vicious rolls were....well, vicious! Nice job!

Roakar's work continues unabated until he smashes the corpse of the monster....

Though the gas still permeates the room, the wet sounds of combat cease.

Out of initiative.

"Please... A truce adventurer. I seek only freedom."

The roper in the corner is VERY securely manacled.

Regardless of the roper, some of you take the time to search the room. Hugo finds a machine that spits sparks, and he determines that it's supplying energy to things around it. It's very complicated, but he thinks a trained trapspringer could likely deactivate it.

While unsure about the idea of setting a creature like this free upon the world, Iggy also can not stand the idea of leaving it trapped and at the Aspis Consortium's mercy. "How did you come to be here, and what are they doing to you?"

Wanting to hear the creature's explanation before proceeding, he will follow up with, "If we free you, what would you then do?"

Honestly, I don't know much about Ropers, so part of my goal is to see if redemption might be a possibility, or even an invitation to the Pathfinder Society.

"They.... experiment on me. I don't know why. They just do. I want to be left alone. I want to get back to the comfort of the underdark. Please, I... beseech you."

Ignatious doesn't get the feeling of deception. It appears to be a mentally rundown creature begging for freedom.

Taking the rest of the group aside for a moment, probably outside the smoke covered room, "I can not abide anyone to be subjected to whatever evil they have likely done, and I do not sense any malovance or deception. Does anyone have an issue with me releasing it back to it's home?"

If not, Ill see what Roos can do about the thing its connected to, and try to release it. (Probably with some preaching and a diplomacy effort to suggest turning towards good.)

Hugo will have the Zelekhut search the room and contents with its true seeing, looking for anything hidden or traps or of interest.

Report to me anything unusual you find and then you will be released to your prior business.

The Zelekhut returns without anything interesting to report, though it agrees about the machinery.

Atum can't understand the roper but when Ignatious suggests freeing it Atum nods. "Neither can I abide to see another creature tortured like this. I will set it free." He raises his adamantine weapon and motions for the roper to stay still while he bashes away at whatever restraints are holding it in.

Placing a hand on Atums stony shoulder as if asking Please hold of for but a moment, Iggy will turn to speak to the Roper, "We can not abide to see another creature suffer, and while I believe that some evil lies in your heart, I believe you that you just wish to return home. Before we free, though, I want you to consider this, would you have done this for another? If not, what would it gain you?"

"We are, and we expect no favor or reward for doing it, but know that this is a small world, and should we ever meet again, that it's possible you would view us in a positive light, knowing that we can be trusted, or might be willing to help you, for no other reason than that you needed help. Consider which path might bring you more happiness and fulfillment in life, even if it requires more work, and which can lead you to stand apart and do something in the world worth remembering."

"If you find any wisdom in my words, or even any interest at the possibilities, seek me out, or the Silver Crusade or even the Pathfinder Society, and we can talk more."

Afterwards he nods to Atum to please continue, and joins is as well with his own adamantine weapon.

The roper's lone eye closes a bit, but it's expression is unreadable. Still, once freed by the Pathfinders, it doesn't attack, instead heading back out of the complex....

For the moment, you're safe, though the klaxons are near deafening.
