Darkvision 60ft and a Continual Flame tattoo. Also constant Deathwatch, and the can see perfectly fine through mist, fog, smoke, murky water, etc. . .
Whispering back to the others, "These must be the "structural deficiencies" the voices mentioned. . ." as I try my best to get a quick glance and as much info as I can on the nearest pillar.

My intent is to see if I can somehow save or protect them, if they are intact able to collapse and cause mass death above, (Antilife Shell, Dispel Magic, Wall of Stone, etc). I don't know how much internet I have left.
Also, at party, I did Channel to heal above for 29. I was also trying to see if anyone had an issue if I would use the scroll of Heroe's Feast when we found it earlier. If not, (1 hour cast), is it okay to do so retroactively, DM?
| Dungeon Master S |
If no one objects. Though your foe does know you're here. Time spent her is time for your foe too.
Roakar

Roakar has darkvision 60ft
Just a clarification: Can we see our enemy or is this a floating voice among the pillars
Hugo Victor
|
As much as I'd like the hero feast, I thought we were on a rushed timeframe and do not want the trail to grow cold.
| Dungeon Master S |
You can't see anything yet. Voice came before pillars. I just haven't given a new map, though now I have the info.
Map is up to date. I'll take Perception checks as a check in.

Seems the party has enough power to see the entire room. Doesn't look like there's anything here though.
The collapsed pillar does make you think this room could go if you set off a trap or do something rash...
Hugo Victor
|
Hugo will cast invisibility purge.
Now I regret we do not have the true sight of the Inevitable. This room looks dangerous. Do we need to enter it? What if we just dimdoor or teleport to the other side.
He looks for a doorway or similar on the far side.
Hugo Victor
|
I had not marked off dimdoor but I believe he tried to cast it back in the desert fight and it failed. He still has greater teleport for the group or dim hop for himself and maybe one other depending on distance .
"There may be other options ."
Hugo Victor

Hugo was casting purge invisibility. He sees Roakars face and considers casting det Magic next unless one of the others does first.

While Hugo reveals any invisible figures in the room, Rúmil starts detecting for magic and looking for signs of the elixir thief.

| Dungeon Master S |
Sorry guys. I'm currently in a meeting that is going to run much longer than expected. I'll try to update when I can.
Rumil doesn't reveal anyone currently invisible. That doesn't last though. From the ravine in the middle of the room a rumble breaks the still. A form begins to emerge, but as soon as it meets the spell, its invisibility begins to fail and eventually it gives way completely.
A dragon of royal blue emerges! Loralis! About her neck dangles a pair of vials, worth more than the salt in the sea.
Combat is met.

The dragon lunges forward. It's legendary form and build is enough to squeeze the heart and chill the blood. Everyone mus tmake a DC 24 Will save versus fear or be shaken for, essentially, the duration.
Everyone EXCEPT Rumil. The pillar to the NW explodes with a simply thought from the dragon. Shards of plaster and stone rip through you like Rumil's arrows. REF DC 22 for half of 10d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 3, 3, 1, 4, 1, 6, 5) = 33 damage.
The dragon's sword like teeth slam down onto ROakar. The barbarian could swear that he hear's his name in her snarl. Bite: 1d20 + 34 ⇒ (6) + 34 = 40 The teeth draw a shocking amount of blood doing DMG: 4d8 + 26 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 2) + 26 = 39 and 1 point of Constitution bleed.

Hugo's thought would be to 5' into Roo's vacant space, dim-hop himself and Roakar back 5' (freeing grapple) and then casting Blessing of Fervor on group....if Roakar is willing or has not made other arrangements to pounce.
Roakar

I will post my move when I get home from work today. Do what you wish Hugo, Roakar has not raged yet and so won't fight a friendly spell yet.
Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Was pretty much guaranteed to fail this before I could activate rage. Enjoy my failed saves while you can Chris :P. That hole in Roakar's defense will be filled next lvl.

Hugo then 5' steps back into Roos original space, dimensionally hops back 5' with Roakar, hopefully freeing him from the dragon. He finally calls forth blessings of Fervor.
Abadar aid us in this battle against those who would subvert your temple!'
BoF is up, Hugo takes the +2 AC/Saves blessing

Assuming I am free of the grapple. Chris: Feel free to drop me back behind Hugo in init if you would like.

Time and again the scales are stronger than the mighty Roakar's swings. Only the swing fueled by Hugo's spell makes a solid connection, and even then, the dragon looks like it can take quite a few of those hits.

Re-reading, I just realized I totally missed the WILL save vs dragon fear

It's probably too late now, but I was trying to do something with the pillar earlier. It may not have been clear as I was trying to get a post in before I lost internet, and I was not sure if these pillars where the structural weaknesses the voices implied. I just finished up Operation Anaconda and heading back to Germany. I'll be driving the rest of the day, but after that I should be back until I head home in a few weeks. :)

I do in fact have a trick up my sleeve, and one I have been waiting a long time to use. I'll take a step back outside the room, (I can't see the map, so I'm trying to go for cover), and begin casting a Full Round Action spell.
"See how it likes a taste of its own medicine."

Not trusting his meager archery skills, Rúmil turns to his magic and summons up a cloud of sulfurous fumes around the dragon.
stinking cloud
DC 18 Fort save or nauseated while in the cloud and for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 rounds after leaving.
In addition, the fog obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature within 5 feet has concealment (20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance). Of course, since she's not fully in it this probably doesn't matter.

I moved Ignatius back 5' on the map based on his description. I figure he may not want to be interrupted by a 5' stepping dragon while casting. Feel free to adjust back otherwise. I am assuming we can backup the hall we came, but no cover otherwise.
| Dungeon Master S |
@Hugo. Yes to all of that.
Rumil brings forth a spell, but some kind of wall blows about the dragon, preventing it from actually touching the dragon.
The dragons sparkling eyes move towards Roakar and the gaze bores into him with ease. The barbarian feels his feet become heavy and his reflexes dulled. (Swift action -3 to REF saves and -5' to speed, no save to resist this.)
The dragon then lets out a bolt of lightning so powerful that it nearly brings the ceiling down: Everyone EXCEPT Rumil needs to make a REF DC 25 for half of Breath: 14d8 ⇒ (7, 5, 3, 1, 7, 7, 5, 8, 5, 3, 1, 7, 7, 6) = 72 versus the lightning breath.
Finally, with a thought, a second pillar explodes. The pillar's shards fly towards Roakar (REF DC 22 for half of DMG: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 3) = 43)
Round 2:

Interesting. Not sure I have seen that before and no save debuff like that. Can't put a name to it

Reflex Save vs Pillar: 1d20 + 7 - 3 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 3 = 11 Not sure if this is magical (Spell, SLA, SU) or just a normal type trap. The roll was low enough that superstition doesnt matter but let me know as I can spend a reroll on it.
