Rylan of the Circle of Magi |
Having no better idea of what to do in this situation, Rylan readily follows thru on Ser Calder's suggestion. The mage moves back towards Legnar, firing off an arcane lance at the shadowy form in the process.
3d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2, 5) + 4 = 16 to hit, if damage, does 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
For stunt points, will go with mighty blow for 1d6 ⇒ 5 extra damage and lightning attack for 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2, 6) + 4 = 13 to hit and 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 possible damage

Round 5 Results
Ser Calder breaks into a run and almost slides in a squishy mass of unidentified gore as he heads toward the altar and picks up a strange silver vessel from the floor.
The shadow recoils in horror and turns toward Ser Calder, moving toward him as fast as it can with its shadowy claws outstretched, but it cannot reach him before he grabs the shining silver.
Legnar pursues the shadow, his axe and maul flashing in the flickering red light from the torch. The shadow manages to dodge the attack, but only barely before it turns its attention to Calder again.
Suddenly a blast of silvery white light strikes the shadow from Rylan's wand. It releases a scream of sorts as the pure arcane energy forces it backwards. A second blast of arcane energy shoots from the wand, but it slides over the fearsome shadow.

Rylan of the Circle of Magi |
Apologies about the late posting- been busy with rl stuff lately. As an aside, this pbp campaign is my only pbp game at the moment.
Rylan will try to see if there is anything about that particular vessel that he recognizes (or might know of) in order to be of aid to Ser Calder.
cunning with 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6, 4) + 3 = 15, not sure if it counts as major or minor in terms of actions.
In the meantime, Rylan will keep his wand aimed at the creature rushing towards Ser Calder, with Legnar blocking it's way
Will use an aim action as a minor.

Rylan shouts a warning to Calder who swipes at the shadow with the chalice. The shadow attempts to catch it, but it moves too quickly past it.
Moaning in agony, another burst of cold energy erupts from the shadow, causing another 1d6 ⇒ 4 penetrating damge to all within range.
Legnar maneuvers around the shadow, taking up position between it and Calder, but the shadow compensates, ignoring Legnar in order to get to the chalice. Legnar still is able to block it effectively however, and swipe at it with his weapons. Again the ancient axe strikes home, leaving a rip in the shadow that glows with bright white light. It screams again, and reaches beyond Legnar for the chalice.
Rylan takes this opportunity in the shadow's distraction to more effectively aim his wand.
